Well they can have Kalac, he's just a bench warmer anyway. But Janku... I don't like that at all...

Betting scandal hits calcio Tuesday 5 December, 2006--- Channel 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincenzo Iaquinta, David Di Michele and Marek Jankulovksi are among 21 players identified by public prosecutors in an alleged illegal betting probe. The Udine prosecution office is on the verge of closing its investigation and will now pass on their findings to the Italian Football Federation, where chief investigator Francesco Saverio Borrelli and his staff will decide on how to proceed. The inquiry was based on bets allegedly made by players between 1998 and 2005 which totalled close to £7m, the ANSA news agency reported on Tuesday. Four drawn matches – Reggina-Bologna [May 8, 2005], Ascoli-Cagliari, Parma-Siena and Udinese-Chievo [April 22, 2006] – were also put under the microscope by prosecutors. Players named in the enquiry, some of whom have now retired, are: Abeijon (Atalanta), Bia (ex-Bologna), Bordin (ex-Napoli), Di Michele (Palermo), Ferrante (Pescara), Fresi (ex-Inter), Gregori (ex-Udinese), Iaquinta (Udinese), Jankulovski (Milan), Kalac (Milan), Thomas Manfredini (Bologna), Margiotta (Frosinone), Pierini (ex-Udinese), Pineda (ex-Udinese), Pinzi (Udinese), Scarlato (Spezia), Schwoch (Vicenza), Sgrigna (Vicenza), Sommese (Mantova), Sosa (Napoli) and Walem (ex-Udinese). All the players involved have denied any wrongdoing. Nobody has been charged with any offence. The Italian Football Federation, whose rules do not allow players to bet on games, will now have to verify whether any rules have been broken. Should any player be found guilty of illegal sporting activity then they could be banned for at least a year.

Kui, another one of your posts, which will lift our spirits to the sky.
Juve was blood-handed guilty and even 1000 of your next posts wont change that, even if you want to put it all under carpet - for juve! (a note here, they were thrown to B, but later erased of almost all deduction and almost guaranteed the return to A) Some of us on the other hand want to watch clean football, as much as that is possible... there is no joy seeing our side as second best and fearsome if u know/suspect its all about cheating - like watching football wrestling and hoping its your fighter's turn to win. If milan is guilty we should take all the blame and clear the faulty management! And so it goes for the rest of the clubs. Juve got it, we felt it hard too, and if others are guilty they should get punished too. Italy is shooting its own foot with this scandal and you can see the result in on the stands. People dont believe in football anymore since the thing was open but wasnt dealt with properly. And i for one rather kow how it stinks than have my eyes blinded with happiness for a fixed match. Lastly, there is nothing we can do here at milanmania. We can wish for juve to be penalised, for inter to get screwed or we can say juve is cool club they got everything fair and square, we are mighty second and inter/roma are trailing in the dust. We can hope they wont get penalised so we wont get too (yuck!), but it will have no efect whatsoever on the happenings. |

Yeah, i may have read it too fast and misunderstood the point behind it
Why the heck do u keep writing in thai language i dont understand...Joke behind, im glad we agree to some point then (if i got it right this time). About the fans, we can, but we are such a complex group of different people with different view on things. If we all think alike we wouldnt really need place to exchange those views. Thats why we need good posters to make amends for all the weaker ones . btw, you really think mostly/only moggi-poli is to blame for current underperforming of almost half the squad? and if i say our back line works like a swiss cheese i say it wrong because i dont realize its a result of moggi-poli? |

Has anybody seen this latest update to Milan's wikipedia page ??
'Following the big Calciopolli scandal this summer, AC Milan was substructed some points from the current serie A but continued fixxing games both in Italy and in Europe, eg.AC Milan - Lille 0-2 06/12/2006.' How sad is that ? People believe we sold that match to Lille. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Milan |

I've experienced it with Juve, it's sad that it's your turn now. People ( who just read papers and don't go deep into the reasons for something that happened, or the truth in all those accusations) now know Milan as one of the teams from Italy involved in match fixing, and it ain't gonna change. Of course, for the dumbest ones, Betandwin sponsoring Milan is just another shocking prove Milan is fixing matches. Milan's defeat from Lille got yourself new enemies now. The Greeks, the fans of AEK. They joined Club Brugge ( if Milan didn't lose the last match of group stage against Celta, Brugge would have gone into 1/8 finals) and they joined Lens ( they blame you for letting Deportivo beating you in 2002, and eliminating them that way)..... Real won their match against Lokomotiv in 2002, so they're not in "i hate Milan" group, because if they didn't win back then, Dortmund would have gone in, after beating Milan at San Siro in last round ! I'm a member of many forums, and you'd be suprised if you could see the Anti-Milan atmosphere after the result against Lille. Even the most neutral ones suspect there was something fishy. I don't know, i think the traditional Italian thing happened on Wednesday, and Milan lost the match because Milan was unmotivated at all, while Lille ( very solid team) gave 101% of them. But if Milan buys Keita this summer, even i ( i see myself as a realist, that's why i say "even i " ) will have to start suspecting ! ![]() Oh, and as much as i understand the Italians ( Milan, Juve, Inter, the National team) i must say i hate their behaviour in these kind of matches. They must play fair and try to give at least 50%. ( i know that with a win AEK would have gone in, and it's AEK's fault mostly. But Milan players could have at least tried to do something on Wednesday...the fact is they didn't try) I'm sure there will come time when Milan will be eliminated from CL the same way as AEK got eliminated. And i won't feel sorry for Milan then. Just like i didn't feel sorry for Italy after Denmark-Sweden 2:2 match on EURO 2004. Italians did the same thing too many times, and they deserved to feel it on their skin ! |

The dif is, however, that Milan - provided that they have the mentality of the current team/club - will not look for excuses why someone else didn't do their job for them but will blame it themselves because if you can't ensure by yourself your own qualification in 6 games - we are speaking of 5 2nd chances here and in life many never get even one - then maybe you just don't deserve to go through to the next round. Did we give it our all vs Lille? Hell, we didn't give even 50% of what we can. But I think it's a very stretchy stretch to start looking for conspiracy here and blame Milan for fixing game - we may not have given our best but I am sure we didn't do it with elliminating AEK or getting Keita in mind ... we did it because we had already secured our qualification and didn't have to give our best, risk injuries and fatigue to key players. It would have been nice to see Milan win this game too but it's not always possible to motivate the players for basically "friendly" games ... after all what's the point of securing early qualification if you can't afford to allow your players relax a little bit and take all that pressure off their shoulders at least for a little while. Regarding Keita, I sure hope we go for him ... I explained why before the game ... and couldn't care less what other might start conspiring about. the guy is a very good player and could give Milan some flexibility in midfield and attack, so I would welcome him with open arms. And why on earth should it bring suspicion that Milan is going after a quality player, especially given that we and Inter and other teams were rumoured to be after him even before the draw for the group stage in CL had take place? As for the AEK, Brugge, and whatever other fans, all I can say to them is - well, guys, your teams did well but obviously not well enough, so, better luck tomorrow ... or should I say better performance by YOUR teams next time, cause that's what you should rely on and not luck or other teams doing you job.

You all don't care much what the world says or will say. He, do you think i , Moggi, other Juve fans cared what you were saying or the world was saying when the world was accusing Juve for fixing matches ? I didn't give a sh!t. Now i think it would have been better if we all cared. Milan's image is ruined, and these kind of matches, like the one against Lille, are a chance for Milan to change world's opinion about them. And now , not only Milan didn't change the opinion, but only made it stronger. The anti-Milan crusade started allready, i believe. UEFA won't tolerate Italians anymore, and the one(s) who relegated Juve will have a piece of cake job to do the same to Milan one day if the world thinks Milan are cheaters. Not only Italy, but Europe will support him in that ! Last edited by Tony29.; 08-12-2006 at 06:59. |

i don't understand why AEK fans would be angry with Milan... they needed a win to gurantee second spot & qualification... they FAILDED in their own task... and now instead of discussin' how pathetic they were in not beatin' Anderlecht... they try to point the finger on us... and take the easy way out...
and in all honesty... serve them right... they deserved what they got... because they are not capable of qualifyin' due to their own inadpt performances... if they were really that good... do they need the result of our match to decide their own fate? |
