Berlusconi seems to be willing to invest however he does not want to invest for Milan at a time like this because the Italians will question what is he doing.... so I think Milan have found a club like Genoa for them to buy their transfers (including Rafinha, Veloso probably) and then we could get them in the future. You could see that as there does not seem to be any cash involved for the Sokratis deal, only gave them 3 players on co-ownership. It does seem like there is some sort of alliance and things going under the table, especially if we get KPB and Bocchetti.

Both teams win, Milan get the signings they wanted (even they they have to wait for it) without having to spend anything officially for the world to see, and Genoa gets a great squad temporarily.
Well, you can read here and there that we paid 4.5M for Sokratis (so the money we received from Juventus for Storari) + the co-ownerships.

My point of view is that Genoa made some kind of effort to build a good squad this year thanks to the sales of their young players (Ranocchia, Bonucci, Sokratis). They almost look like a big team when their president says Boateng will be a Genoa player and that he will send him on loan to some big club.
It seems they don't want to co-own him, they just want to send him on loan (they already have many midfielders, so buying Boateng is not really needed for them), probably to have a better image, why ? They send a player on loan to Milan, the great Milan, they will buy a player that Milan wanted to buy, and they give him for one year, which of the clubs is the smallest in this move ?

The deal about Bocchetti ? They must accept, in Genoa, as there is some kind of new friendship between both clubs, so if Milan asks them a player on loan (with an option to buy), as long as we give them another player (we want to give Jankulovski, they want Abate), they must accept. That looks like a good deal for Milan on this one, but at the end, we will buy Bocchetti, they will send back the player and they will be able to buy another good player.

Genoa is the winner of all these moves, as they got young players from both Inter and Milan in 2 years, with some of them who should explode and as a consequence, they will be able to sell them for big money (Destro, why not Zigoni).

I really don't think Berlusconi is behind all these moves in Genoa (Veloso, Rafinha, etc).

Arabs are just profoundly gifted with conspiracy theories, aren't they?

brk, We took it from the Italians....

Geo, no we are not sure of the 4.5m + co-ownership yet... it's all rumors.. on Milans OFFICIAL website and Genoa's it mentions that we have got Sokratis and given them 3 co-ownership deals...mentions nothing about the money... so we don't know for sure yet.

GK
RB RCB LCB LB
RCM CM LCM
ACM
SC SC

After the match with Panathinakos, I think we can make quite a prediction about the line-up for next season.

Except ACM, it seems Allegri's has solution for other positions.

GK: There is a real competition between 2 good GKs: Abbiati & Amelia, which is a good thing. Roma for 3rd choice is OK.

CBs: It is strange, but I do not worry about this position. Nesta & Silva now have better subtitutes in Sokratis. Yepes has good positioning and heading, Allegri's only played Bonera in CB, means the former Parma player could be setted here, not for RB, Onyewu is back. So, Yepes, Bonera & Onyewu will fight for 4th in the picking order. Albertazzi is still 19, he should play for Primavera another year. Regardless of how much Allegri wants to test the youngster, CB is a demanding position, and we have many options already, if there will be no injury crisis.

RB: We have many players capable for this position, but still need a true starter. Zambrotta is the best option after last match, he is more comfortable on the right than left, but his stamina is in doubt. Oddo is quite confident and Allegri wants to give him some chances. Abate hasn't been test much but against small teams, he could be useful somehow, but I think Allegri will have him play RCM. Though none is reallly make us feel relieved, if Flamini or Gattuso (to some extent) plays RCM, they can cover.

LB: Only one name - Antonini. No real subtitute, but the starter is reliable.

RCM: Flamini, Gattuso, Abate

LCM: Ambrosini, Merkel

CM: Pirlo, Seedorf, Strasser

We can't say Merkel is a box-to-box player yet, but he sure has the stamia and the ability to press and tackle, in addtion to good overall skill. This guy is discipline & confident, enough to be in first team, but ACM is still too hard for him, IMO, but he can provide more in a simple passing & dynamic CM.

ACM: real headache when no one is the true starter, only candidates, both inside and outside Milan. Possible: Dinho, Merkel

SC: Pato is a worldclass allrounder forward, Borriello is a worldclass postplay forward and Huntelaar is a worldclass poacher. Pippo was another worldclass poacher, so the speed & dribbling skill of Verdi & Odu will help.

Abbiati
Zambrotta Nesta Silva Antonini
Flamini Pirlo Ambrosini

Amelia
Oddo Sokratis Yepes Jankulovski
Gattuso Seedorf Abate

Verdi Huntelaar

Bonera Onyewu Albetazzi Kalaze

For all the members besides ACMILAN1983 who have been following Kevin Prince Boateng, can anyone give us more details about him now that we are strongly being linked with him?

I was really hoping for someone like Jucilei but I guess the lowering of 2 non-eu spots to one has made us look elsewhere. I tend to think KVB is quite overrated and not that good, but I haven't seen enough to judge.

Which reminds me, our non-eu spot is still vacant. We aren't linked with ANY names that are Non-EU anymore. Robinho, Ibra, KVB, Eder etc none of them would take the spot. I cannot believe that we will just "not use it", so does this mean we already know who it will be and have it settled? Could the long-awaited union of Dzeko and Milan finally be somewhat realistic?

They officially voted this new rule ??
Couldn't they have voted that this summer to set it for the next mercatos ? Let's imagine a club would have bought 2 non-EU players before the rule was voted, would the other clubs have been allowed to take 2 non-EU players too despite the rule during this summer ?

About Dzeko, there are some reports that there was a meeting yesterday between Wolfsburg and ... Juventus.

I remember that this rule was approved and decided before the mercato started.

I still vividly remember the crunching and meaningless tackle by KPB on Ballack in the cup final that ruled him out of the world cup. I loved that.

Out of topic, I've just known that "Verdi" in italian means "Green" in English.

Sometimes when I used Google Translate, I saw a name of a promising youngster "Simone Green" but don't know who the ... is he

And the catch is?

Genoa overtake Milan and qualifies for CL and then we're Genoa's feeder club.

Boateng isnt a creater a scorer or a holding player , he is athletic and fast no great technique im not judging him on the WC im judging him on the games i saw for portsmouth dortmund and spurs he will add nothing.A sh1t personality aswell huge ego for and average player.

Agree(bold) with Jay, 100%!
Saw a lot of Portsmouth games and never became impressed. Jay resumes it right: not a creator, scorer or holder. Impressive athletically, saw him play hard against the big ones of EPL, but all that "hard-work" was useless, because there was no "substance". It's incredible(sad) how low is becoming our standards...

I can accept a average player in our situation, but the guy better be Italian and cheap. Don't know much about him as a person, but if Jay is right, a average player with a ego is the last thing Milan needs...

Agent confirms Bocchetti-Milan talks
Saturday 7 August, 2010
Salvatore Bocchetti’s agent has confirmed “the prospect of an exchange between Milan and Genoa is true.”

Rumours had emerged that the Italian international, who was part of the 2010 World Cup squad and never played, is at the centre of an intriguing deal.

Genoa would hand him over to Milan in exchange for cash plus Marek Jankulovski, but the Czech appears to be holding up the move.

“The prospect of an exchange between Milan and Genoa is true,” agent Flavio Marrucco told Sky Sport Italia.

“The two clubs are working to find the right alternative and Bocchetti can certainly be interesting for Milan.

“I think it all depends on Jankulovski’s decision. We can only sit and wait for the clubs to make a decision.

“Salvatore is calm and experiencing this moment. I think that we’re unlikely to see a massive development over the weekend, but you can never say never.”

The 23-year-old has been at Genoa since 2008 after spells at Ascoli, Lanciano and Frosinone.

If Milan do sign the centre-back, it may well suggest that Real Madrid could have a chance at prising away Thiago Silva.

Firstly, i'd rather to have Honda for there, yet Kevin Prince Boateng is one of the options, i'd rather to get him instead of nothing. As long as he is fast, strong and skilled player, he will add something to us in attack,as he is a fighter typee of player, especially in low tempo Serie A, he will add something to us.

Secondly, i always wanted Bocchetti to Milan, a defender that i rate high, i hope we sign him and stay here for more years. We need this kind of players, young, quality and solid. if he comes, we will not need Onyewu +Kaladze + Bonera or Yepes.

5 CB, Silva, Nesta , Papa, Bocchetti, Bonera/Yepes is more than enough for one season, also considering we also have Albertazzi.

Then, lets talk about Hernanes, what a miss. just for 10 m euros, Lazio got a WC Midfielder. i think MGT will regret their decision not to move for Hernanes too much in the coming future.

About Merkel, his pressing and tackling is important, especially he does it in further area,
front press is important in modern football, he adds dynamism as well. yet whenever he got the ball, he should show that he is like future world class player. he is doing well yet he has to do more in attack.

Verdi's dribbling skills and pace is important in attack, he is moveable and his work rate is improving. i hope Allegri uses him as a vice Pato instead of playing Borriello-inzaghi/Huntelaar tandem, when Pato is missing.

Honestly Boatengs passing is awful his shooting is bad , he's the kind of guy that throws his jersey at the coach when he is taken off even when he has a bad game. Now he may change his attitude but not in 13 weeks rather Boateng than nothing I'll honestly take a big plate of nothing with a side order of nothing. We need a player to play the Pirlo role of a few years ago , we need a right or a left back and maybe a 20 goal a season player thats imediate needs but boateng fills no category and will be money down the toilet in salary honestly.
Janku is holding up the move for Bochetti and also if Bochetti does arrive another CB , does it mean the end of T.Silva.
