AC Milan vs Juventus (game & post-game comments)

I'm really stunned by the physical state of our players. Milan is renowned for the scientific approach to physical and mental fitness, we have our own laboratory devoted to it, we have medical people working round the clock on it, providing the technical staff with data about it, etcetera...
Then why does Carlo exhaust the players this way? You can't play with almost the same 11 players that many matches, over a short time period, and still expect to do well enough to clinch BOTH the CL and the Scudetto. He ought to know that with all the scientific medical tools that he can call on.
Somehing is wrong here.

as the refereeing decisions are the biggest talking points that seems a good place to start so, basically both incidents were penalties and if they had been given i doubt Juve would have much room for complaint.

Collina got the decisions wrong but unlike us he only see's them once, refereeing is a tough job and in a match as high profile as that he had to be 100% sure to give them, clearly he wasnt

To focus on the refereeing is to ignore a few potential failings in our play though and its worth highlighting them for future reference.

Juve beat us today because they were well organised and willing to pressure our midfield all over the pitch in order to hurry our passing, because of that Sheva, JDT and Kaka were kept on the fringes of the game. They didnt come to win however, they came to draw and got lucky, scoring from their first meaningful attack gave them something to hold onto

The reason its important to learn from this is because this is exactly how Liverpool will play the CL final, and having seen Arsenal demolish them this afternoon with short quick passing, as well as having seen Liverpool take Juve apart at Anfield with the same high tempo style i hope we put out a team with a plan to do the same thing.

Milan didnt look like they planned to win this afternoon it was a case of "we'll pass it around and see what happens" i know its not something Berlusconi likes but starting with 5 in midfield (christmas tree) and playing a high tempo from the start would have worked far better today.

I think we really need to give our most needed players a rest as for the remaining league games, and let them get their bodies and minds ready for the CL final. If not, we might lose the double while trying to win it.

There are a few things I wanna say :
first: Collina is known as one of the best, a lot of people say THE best ref on earth and respected all over the world. Even if he made a mistake today, don't blame Milan's bad performance on him!
second: juve had this "hangover" syndrom a few weeks ago, remember ? It is just human to feel tired after such a heavy season.
third: I agree with dcvg - but it's not a question of the last month....if you look back the whole scudetto, there were plenty of moments when Milan leading comfortable.
Enough chances to give the keyplayers some extra rest. Maybe this could make a difference in the last hard weeks.

But it's not over yet, friends. I still believe in Milan. I believe in their will to win. I'm sure, I've seen it before. But to be honest - Milan's eyes are more focused on the the CL .

I`m agrre in your last comment about CL! Though it`s very pitty that Juve will win Scudetto! I have no comments about game because we lose and all my dreams broken!! Bye-Bye Scudetto!

don't worry. juve will lose to parma and livorno. i believe in this strongly.

an interesting fact is that whenever Milan beat Juve, Milan failed to win the title. Hopefully this means that Juve will get overconfident and lose at least TWO games out of the remaining 3. it can happen. it will happen.

Yes then we`ll be like Inter!!!! Please Milan win CL!!!!!!!!!!!

No club anywhere will ever be like Inter, so don't worry about that.
But losing on two fronts is bad enough indeed. And that happens very often.

It can happen. I still remember when Lazio won the Scudetto coming back from 2 points behind, because Juve lost to Perugia on the final day.
But the bad thing is Carletto was Juve's coach in those days.

It`s difficult to win, when:

* The opponent score on the first attack

* two times a penalty is not given

* Inzaghi and Shevchenko don´take BIG chances.

Yes - than of course some Rubentus fans will say, that they also had many chances, but it was as a result of Milan did risk more.

I doubt we will catch them, as Juve play 3 teams that has nothing to play for. Parma is saved and Livorno and Cagliari don´t really care.

Milan have Palermo and Udinese who need points to play in Europa next season ... no .. I don`t think this will be enough.Even a draw today, would not have been enough I think.

We lost the scudetto, dont lie to yourself.
Juve has 3 easy matches, they will not drop 3 points.
We will on the other hand. Lets just rest some players for the liverpool game and hope we win CL. If we dont then by,by Carlo.....and for sure it will be like that.

Hey come on guys lets be honest with ourselves, the better team won. Milan played conservative and that bucycle kick by Del Peiro was sheer class, that is why he is Italia's golden boy. Serghino was the only one creative enough to cause a stir for milan but one player cannot do it alone, especially when the strikers are dormant. As far as Crespo goes, maybe you guys haven't heard but Chelsea is bringing him back from his loan. He does not want to go and his mental state was not in this game. Pippo was humours and had his chance but even Juve's defence outplayed that of the over priced milano side (Zambrotta's save on Pippo should be sufficient proof)

Yah, I'm thinking to email Zambrotta how to tug a player's shirt without getting a penalty. I think that's something Juventus surely outclass MIlan.

How long have you waited before the time was right for you to register and come in to humiliate us? I don't really care for your PSV-being-better-team-we-being-lucky talk, but I've got to admit that this one about Juventus-deservedly-beating-over-priced-milan really hurts me badly.
