Massimo Oddo’s proposed move to Milan could be back on the cards if Lazio accept Dario Simic as part of the deal.

The right-back has not hidden his desire to complete the move to San Siro, but the £6m price-tag put on his head by the capital club has so far proved a stumbling block.


It’s now reported that the transfer could be back on if Croatian international Simic is included as part of the agreement.


Pasquale Foggia had been offered on loan to help cut the cash sum, but the Biancocelesti rejected that proposal.


“If Oddo wants to leave I will not force him to stay,” said Lazio Coach Delio Rossi earlier this week.


This isn’t the first time that Simic has been named on Milan’s exit list, as he has also been linked with Atalanta, but he warns he won’t be an ideal replacement for Oddo.


“It’s easier for me to play as a central defender and I can make the difference there rather than at right-back,” said the ex-Inter man. “Of course I can take that role, but I give my best in the middle.”


Meanwhile, the Croatian is preparing for Tuesday’s decisive Champions League preliminary round trip to Red Star Belgrade.


“I’ve played at the Marakana a few times and it really is a ‘hot’ place to come into and it’s tough to beat them there,” he explained after the 1-0 first leg win.


“In any case, we are a good squad and are ready for anything, as we really want to enter the Champions League this season. Their tactics should change from San Siro, as they’ll use two strikers and a Trequartista, so there will also be more crosses for Nikola Zigic.”

we got a real right back, and got rid one of our useless player.

i guess the management (excluding Galliani) have to find a way to use players like Amoroso,Brocchi,Borriello as a makeweight. Even Gattuso!

When is this saga going to end? We have to be more decisive in the transfer market. Do we need a right back or is Bonera sufficient? If management deems that we need another right back, then try for Oddo. If the maximum bid is rejected, then lets look elsewhere and pick up a quality right back. It is almost the end of August now. THis is not the time to be dilly-dallying....

wtf.. Gattuso is fine.. why move him. We need his physical presence in midfield.

What Gattuso is one of the best midfields in the world. He's a crazy pitbull on the pitch and that's what makes him great. You really don't watch this guy play, do you?

Well, I guess we will be getting Sobis and Oddo next week. Decent signings, but we didn't get our star striker yet. When we sign the likes of Ronaldo, that's when I believe we are talking business. This has nothing to do with Milan, but I saw Inter beat Mallorca. They played Vieira, Ibra, Grosso (who played a more forward role) and Crespo as a sub. They played decently, but I really saw a spark there. I really think they're talking business. The experiment 3 defenders failed, but I think Inter will be serious competition this year so let's push for Oddo and other needed signings.

He means Pasquale Foggia not Pasqual who played for Fiorentina last season.

The package that has been discussed is Simic OR Foggia + Cash for Oddo.

I think we should keep Foggia.

I think Oddo won't come... But next wednesday we'll start to see some action.
