well, the last three, due to injuries to other players, have been playing way too regularly and are so tired that once a game is beyond the 60-70th min, they are barely walking on the field ... not to mention that Kaka and Pirlo didn't get much of a rest in the summer.
As for Gorky, he was injured for a good 4 weeks or so plus he is too young and inexperineced to see him as a viable alternative just now after 2 months in Italy.

Btw, Warro, Carlo might just be trying to play "your" 4-2-1-1-2 thing with Brocci(Gattuso) and Seedorf as the two Def midfileders, he just calls it 4-3-1-2.

it's not quite set up the way you set it up b/c in his 4-3-1-2 pirlo drops down a lot (where you'd have Brocci and Seedorf drop down more). this "new" 4-3-1-2 might be just what the coach called "new midfield ideas" during the summer. (let it be noted i think that in the defensive part of the setup your and carlo's ideas differ - example: i think carlo's "d" is based on stoping counter attacks and your would be on a "pressure d")

in the 4-2-1-1-2..one could give gattuso permission to run forward witht the ball when there are no other options (like he did for italy in the wc). that way he and pirlo could be the power of milan like they were the power of italy.

I agree zlatanov, 100%. the thing i'm wondering about is do we even have backup midfielders at milan, because i would consider all of our mF to be "rotational" (any one of them is, more-or less, equal to the others). this leaves me thinking that we dont have any backups.

The early start to our season is really coming back to haunt us now with the amount of injuries we are having..and thanks for pointing that out for me Tas..looks like Carlo got the voice mail I left him yesterday.

Before I start let me just say beforehand I am greek and an AEK fan. Please dont start shouting, I come in peace. I didnt log in here to brag or rub anything in your face. I was just curious as to what Milan's fans would say about the game. However I read a couple of posts that really made me upset and though I can understand why people would say stuff like "AEK sucks, how could we loose?", I felt compelled to answer to one of those.

Of course there is a reason for being AEK or Olympiakos or Panathinaikos or A.O. Kerkyra (heard of it? Doubt it, but I am from Corfu and that's the town's team and I support it despite the fact she just got to Greek Premier League). The reason is simple: it's a team we love. We dont love her (AEK is a female in greek language) because she's the Queen of Europe or of the world or I dont know what. We love her cause she's our team. We stick to her when she wins and we stick to her when she looses. That's what being a fan means. If you read some of your fellow Milan fans posts you'll see they agree with me. Winning our loosing, the team needs your support.

And as a sidenote, because you said a lot about AEK sucking and being for laughs, AEK, despite having probably the one tenth of Milan's or any other big team's funds and players, has had a lot of successes in Europe. Turned a 2-0 match in Bernabeu to 2-2. She has left the Champions league undefeated because of bad luck with the score. There is a reason why Europe knows that team as it does Olympiakos or Panathinaikos. And she has prooven yesterday that she deserves at least some of your respect. So please, just like the whole stadium rose up and applaused for Dida when he got out of the game injured, do the same for the team who won fair and square. You say Milan was unlucky? Sure. Or AEK was lucky. Or Sorrentino is a hell of a goal-keeper and we played some good defence.

As for those who "blame" Dida for the goal, I'll say two things:

1. If it werent for Dida you would have received a second one when Cesar made that excellent move after Tziortziopoulos' fine long pass. I doubt a lot of goalkeepers could have made that save.

2. The way he moved and the way the foul was shot was not coincidental. Milan players study videos of their opposing team and players before every match. Cesar knew this and he knew that Dida would be expecting him to shoot to the other corner, as he almost always does. He took the shot trying to trick him (challenging his luck a bit...) and scored.

hi..I'm greek..I'm a rossonero since birth but i support Aek Athens.Yesterday it was a big day for aek.One thing is sure.Milan needs fresh banch of players.It isn't just bad luck folks.I was in the stadium yesterday and i couldn't decide which team to support.Aek isn't as bad as you think.I repeat..Milan need players and excitement in its game..That's what made aek win the game..youth

Please do bear in mind that I doubt many people will greatly disrespect AEK, but rather the disrespect comes from our currently very bitter situation. It's nothing against AEK though

im not talking about this game persay, but the whole season in general. True, inzaghi has been dissappointing, but do u remmeber how he carried us at the beginning of the season? inzaghi has done his job as far as i am concerned, he came back from that huge injury n started scoring again last year, right now he is going through a rough patch. oliveira shows promise, but no luck. we cannot blame him for spending such a ridiculous amount on him. i think that once he adapts, he will be a lethal 3rd striker. the problem i have with gila is that he has hit rock bottom, reli reli dissappointed us. do u remmeber how long it took us to attain him? do u remmeber the amount of goals we expected from him? last yr he did fine, surely did not have the firepower we were expecting but did fine for his first season with us. look at him this year. this is the best situation for him to be in, the strikers are **** and expectations are low, n sheva is gone. he shud have been able to take the lead by now and show us his true worth, considering that he is our star striker, and has the support of kaka. if he does not prove his worth this year, we shud ship him+cash+ money owed to atletico for torres.

Unfortunately yes; because you can't buy any players at this stage... in Jan we'll see. BUT NOW... goal is the key.

Completely agree with you there Jeff, im really disapointed with him after last night! one slight positive from last night was that Bonera proved he was much more comfortable playing CB than he is Left or Right back!

Yes quite sure. Pirlo is off form, Seedorf is not the same player anymore and Gourcuff has only just arrived. There aren't enough viable options in midfield.
