Thanks MC. I'd like to post here more too. I've been really busy doing and witnessing amazing things though. Makes most things including AC Milan secondary for the time being. Good to chat with you. I'll be here in the forum for another hour and then I'm off.

And what for ? For telling honestly how he and his teammates felt ? for building up a relationship with the fans ?
In good and in bad days ? Whatever Maldini said, you should be glad and graceful he did, bacause it means he cared......
Or do you really prefer what most of the other captains do, just smile and wave and THINK much more worse than Maldini ever said !!!!
Do you really think there will ever be another player or captain dedicated to the club like Maldini was ? You ruined much more than only the farewell of Milan´s greatest player ever.

Let's not forget that actions of a measurable percentage of any society are never controllable. To expect differently from a sport that generates much higher passions than most things is not realistic. Starting with Maldini and on down to small fans we shouldn't elevate this, the banner especially, to something they are not.

They all (Maldini, Sheva and Baresi) are true legends, numerous times they have proven their love and commitment to AC MILAN.
Neither Baresi nor Sheva have anything to be blamed for what happened on Sunday. It's the ultras to be blamed for ruining Paolo's day, they are the idiots, who always prefer to show off that to really support the team...

Let's not forget that it was 50-100 people that did this disgusting act. It does not take away from the standing ovation that the other 80000 people gave the great Captain plus all the thousands of fans that were wishing him the best from home.

I don't care what the history between Paolo and the ultras is. Whatever it is, Sunday was not the day to present that banner. The Ultras and Maldini both stand for one thing = Milan. The man gave his life and his career for the red and black colors and the ultras should have respected what he has done for the club itself and should have left their personal differences out of Sunday's celebration.

I have been a long term supporter of the amazing atmosphere that the ultras create throughout the years...........but on Sunday I lost a lot of respect for that side of the stadium.

In any case.....like many here have said, most of those people are just plain thugs and just because 50 people out of 80,000 decided to be idiots shouldn't take anything away from Maldini's celebration even if he was visibly irritated by the situation.

Thank you Maldini....and for me.....YOU are the greatest captain Milan has ever had.

The first and second sentence doesn't make any sense?

Ok just checked it out from their website. Still doesn't make any sense to me (even though I know a little bit of Italian).

He also mentioned he did not argue with Leonardo, and that he thanked Abete but he wouldn't want to play in a farewell game.

Regardless, this whole thing is just getting blown out of nothing. And why does it have to happen NOW when Milan's CL position is not even secured?

These ultras are STUPID.

I don't care if they have a legitimate reason to say Paolo Maldini is bad, or whatever.

They are right, but so what? Milan has enough troubles to deal with and these folks are not helping.

Think about all these troubles that we are getting through: Having someone to say something bad against Milan is absolutely the VERY LAST thing that we want to do.

it turns out it wasnt a "small" portion of the ultras the banners were displayed in the heart of the curva sud where BRN sits (main ultras) if you go to the BRN website there is an announcement right when you enter the site telling about the whole situation this is the first time if an inter fan insults milan fans i wouldnt say anything back

These ultras like jeff said have not only smeared one of the games greatest player ever but also created a huge distraction for milan as 2nd place is not secured these people need to be ashamed

EDIT: This remindes me when couple of weeks ago ibra CLEARLY dissed the inter ultras by putting telling them to shut up after scoring and you know what the ultras said after the next match? they said they understood why ibra was mad and that they respect him for being a valuable player to the team...now you tell me y people will never think of milan as a classy team

It isn't quite clear because it is only the headlines, we have to read the full article to understand what exactly happened.

But for me it means that Maldini pretended that Milan should condemned those 500 fans responsible for those acts officially, which was not the case.
So he is feeling like he was not supported by the club.

(This is my interpretation for that headline.)

About the farewell game that he wouldn't want to play: I was not surprised because he said it several times this year.

I agree 100%. For those of us who gather in the IRC channel to chat for each match, every single game there are really horrible comments about Seedorf, Ancelotti and others. It's really in bad taste, even if it wasn't to the players "face" (from the stands). I think it's okay to make funny comments like the nickname "slowdorf", cause it's all in good spirit, but it's entirely different when people shout that they hate them, that they wish Seedorf would get a longterm injury etc. What makes that any better than what the Curva did?

Ancelotti and Seedorf have been key reasons why we have had the success we had in this decade, and they have just as much right for respect for their efforts as Paolo had on Sunday (even if Paolo did more for the club over the years). You may not think they are doing the best of jobs at the moment, but that doesn't mean it's okay to wish bad things to happen to them and say really ****ty comments every single week.

And you may defend yourself by saying "it's frustration in the heat of the moment", but the same passion is what the Curva is explaining their behavior as... And for that reason maybe some people in here should think twice before they condemn the Curvas behavior, as it's kinda hypocritical.

To give a little input on Paolo's interview with Gazzetta. It seems he was emotional and upset over what those idiots did, but what really got to him is the club didn't speak out against it all all, rather they've just watched all that's happened, while Paolo thinks they should have at least disassociated themselves from it.

Quite honestly, I just look forward to all this blowing over. More importantly, I hope there are some strong actions against ultra groups in Italy, I've had it with the ultras. They may be passionate and whatever else, but enough is enough. Much of the state in Italian football, in particular the bad reputation it has these days are due to the ultras. Il Barone may be respected amongst the ultras, but after this latest stunt I say **** him and his ****ty excuse for doing this.
