Also, because he seldom makes those penetrating vertical runs, when Dinho is marked out of the game, you find that our attack becomes stifled.

With Cesc on the other hand, we have a player who can also spray those long balls with equal accuracy as Pirlo, but who's also willing to make those forward runs through the middle. Because we only really have one creative midfielder in that midfield 3 (the other two are usually Ambro and Gattuso), this is necessary in order to help create chances for the forwards and can also provide a different style of play, instead of always looking to the wings.

As for Pirlo being relegated to the bench, if he cannot do a better job than Cesc at CM then he'll have to get used to the bench. That's just how the game works. If Ronaldinho can cope with being on the bench then so must Pirlo. This is all just fantasy football of course because we don't actually have Fabregas, but I would be all for such a move.
totally agree!! I cant believe some people wouldnt want cesc here brilliant player!

Cesc is like a top 5 midfield in the world right now, can't see why he would not do well for Milan.

As for Dzeko. I think if Milan offers 25mil and ManU offers 40mil. Dzeko will not play hard ball with Wolfs and say Milan or nobody, as he is under contract with Wolfs. It is only wishful thinking that Wolfs will sell Dzeko to Milan for 15mil less instead of 40mil to ManU.

And why all of think that Manu will pay 40 mil for Dzeko?
With 40 mil they can buy Villa, Aguero, Eto, Benzema and other...
why do you think they wont do this? I dont think they are stupid!

The 40 mil thing is only hypothetical, kakacmilan, chill out. What people are trying to say is that if another team is willing to pay significantly more than us, then it is difficult for Dzeko and Wolfsburg to say no to their offer and instead take ours.

Maybe from now on we should all use Team X to avoid any confusion

Fabregas, although a Spaniard, shouldn't be considered as a player from Spain but a player from England.
He has played his entire career in Premier league which is physically very demanding and therefore should have no problems adjusting to Serie A.

our summer mercato completely depends on how much money we will to spend (obviously) , but after last year and the two previous i have a real hard time believing that AC Milan will spend 25 - 30 million on one player . And even if we do then that leaves the team with a great player in Dzeko but still severely understrenght in defence and midfield again.

For me Barcelona is king of football these days, this season they miss a true goalscorer, zlatan hasnt 100% adapted and scores much less than Eto'o.
Yeah, let's see what they will win this year. I remind you that we won 2 CL in 5 years, lost one final, and if it wasn't for strange defeats against Liverpool and Deportivo it would be 4 CL titles in 5 years! How about that? Is it "strange" or less impressive than Barca's success last year (one year!). Would we done that we a sissy midfield Barca have? With Fabregas on place of Seedorf? Definitely no. See, mate, when I look at football game, I use my brain, I don't masturbate whenever Barca score 5 goals or media says their brilliant. I'm not impressed at all that they humiliate a little teams and then cannot create one (ONE) real scoring opportunity against Chelsea in two games.

For your information, I've been watching a LOT of Barca's matches. You should watch 1994 CL final, what we've done to the same Barca, and last year they would encounter the same defeat against Chelsea if it wasn't for funny luck and criminal refereeing.

To conclude, Barca is a great team, but with a weak midfield that can't withstand the pressure, and I don't want us to become the same team. That's the team for one or two seasons max., and whenever we build a champions team, it lasts at least 5 years. That's the point here.

Bro, thats just football.

I mean, I am not taking anything away from Milan but the 2003 CL was won in PK shootout. When it comes to PK, it could have gone both ways. In 07, if it were not for Kaka saving Milan time and time again, Milan would have not won in 07. Then again, Barcelona was very lucky too on those 6 trophies. Esp, the Club World Club ones.
Anyhow, to say that Barcelona is not a top team today is really a bold statement, as I really don't see any club at their level today. Not just their first team, but their operations overall.

Even if I'm not in the "Barcelona is perfect" bandwagon, they won 2 CL in 4 seasons ...
I don't think they will win this year (I hope they will not win actually because, to use the words of Revolver, I'm sick of all these medias masturbating each time a Barcelona player touches a ball), but it is something that had to be noticed.

About the Fabregas-thing, I didn't know that this small and probably impossible rumour would create such a debate !!

Firstly, we don't know if Leonardo will use again his 4-3-3 or if he will use another formation next season.
Our transfers will be the key to know that: if we buy Dzeko, call back Paloschi like Galliani said (mistake here even if I want the boy in Milan, let him fight for a starting place in a smaller club !!), and only lose Inzaghi for example, that will mean that Leonardo has something else in head ... 4 strikers + eventually Pato for just one place is not possible, so that would mean he will use 2 strikers up front.
If we lose Inzaghi and sell Huntelaar (his future will depend on what happens this week and the following ones: if tomorrow he scores again, he will have another chance and maybe ... if he plays like during the Udinese game in Italian Cup, I'm sure we will say him "goodbye"), then that means that Leonardo will want to keep his current formation.

Then, we cry each day (including myself) because we don't have any depth, and suddenly, people don't want Fabregas because we have Pirlo ... Fabregas and Pirlo can play together, and if that doesn't work, having them both could allow Leonardo to do some rotation with two WC players. Inter has almost 2 complete teams with players being WC, great or at least very good, if we want to compete on all fronts again (CL + Serie A + Italian Cup, why not), we will need that too !!

To finish, except Kaladze and/or Favalli, Oddo, Jankulovski and Inzaghi who will probably leave, we have to keep all our current players and add a player in each area to be competitive for a whole season again. Of course, if a guy leaves, he has to be replaced by another one, but more than that, we will need a FB (RB I think as Antonini and Zambrotta can cover the LB position, a LB if we count Zambro as a RB), a DC, a midfielder and a player as vice-winger. Of course, that is valable only if we play with the current formation next season.

PS: My last paragraph is just to say that it is useless to say "we sell him, him, him, him and him for X €, we will have the money to buy him, him, him and him for Y €", if we do that, we will end with no depth again.

I treat the Fabregas' news as only a hypothese, we already know the difficulties. However, I theoretically do not think he won't fit in Milan system, he could be an update of old Seedorf. Despite of his bodyframe, his workrate is admirable, and he look more like an ACM than a deep lying playmaker, his passing range is also shorter than Pirlo.

If next year we welcome back Astori, Diniz and Paloschi, I feel alright. Because we will add depth/young/home grow in the squad and still spare some money to do average/big transfer.

I like Dzeko, but I'm not hungry/thristy for him. Yes, big, strong, quite fast & skillful CFs like Ibra, Drogba, Adebayor, Dzeko,... are best option in paper. However, it is not absolutely necessary. Barca won things with Eto, not Ibra, MU won with C.Ronaldo (special case), and our best CF (lone striker) was Sheva. There are many cases, I just name these three. Seeing that, I don't think a matured Pato can't do the job.

Even Hunter could provide some special options in given situations. Borri has already proved something. And Pato?

The main thing is that Leo must use his creativity more, a task does not exceed his brain power. Yes, he must be braver, too.

anybody considered Oscar Cardozo from Benfica as an alternative target if we cant get Dzeko? i think he would fit the job quite well.

Guys, Leonardo will never change his 4-3-3 system. Forget about that. That's the only system in which Ronaldinho can play with success and that's it. So, as long as Ronaldinho is with us, he'll be a wide player...

this is some funny sh*t

Barca won 2CL in 4years! and not only CL but they won 6times silverware last year, come on man, THAT IS SOMETHING SPECIAL!!! you cant deny that. and offcourse you need some luck here and there to win something. that is always the case. there are always games and moments were you could say the winning team was very lucky or had some unfair refferee decisions. thats part of winning, you need some luck to win

What our win in 94 has to do with this is beyond me.

And what are you talking about we wouldve got 4CL in 5 years? IF IF IF... come on man you can do better than that. liverpool was lucky to win in instanbul, but these things happen. you count another CL the year depor beat us? if I remember correctly that was only quarter final...
what if Juve beat us at the penalty shootout? what if Pippo didnt score that extremely lucky goal (deflecting pirlo's freekick)? we wouldnt have won any CL
