Nothing special so far.
It would be more special if one of them be sheva's partner as striker.

Poor? He was their second best scorer with a goal every second game he played...

he came second to an aging Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink though Crespo and Mutu were bought to be the first choice strikers and both of them failed in that respect.

i noticed good movements by crespo in the derby... he seems determined and with time i think hell find his form once again... i hope so... what a great player he is!

Igor Protti scored 24 goals from 33 appearances with BARI in 95/96 season. He joined Signori (who also scored 24 goals that season) to be the top goal scorer (capocannoniere).
in the next season (96/97) Protti moved to Lazio (and join Signori). He scored 7 goals from 27 appereances.
Protti now plays for Livorno.

Personally, I would be surprised if he ever recaptured his form. Last season at Chelsea he was plain average, in a side with the supply line ilgenio mentioned. He has always been a favourite of Ancelotti's, and vice versa, so that was probably the driving force behind his signing. He drew another blank against Brescia, so it's surely time for Tomasson to be given a chance instead.

Thing about Crespo is there is nothing outstanding about his game. He even said so himself, saying he "couldn't head like Zamorano, doesn't have Batistuta's right foot or Salas left foot". He isn't a superb natural talent in the way the likes of Saviola or Bojinov are. He just pokes them in from the penalty area. I know he's scored 100 odd Serie A goals, but I just get the feeling he's in decline a bit.

Then perhaps he shows that he has willed himself into being the successful player he is? Through his grit and determination alone he was able to compensate for the lack of an awesome header, a left foot of a rocket and the right of a cannon..

Granted, he does have a good header, a good left foot and a good right foot. See his curling header for Chelsea last season? Forgot against who, but it was SICK!

Crespo is an instinctive striker, and those sorts are only effective when they are hungry and confident, as they have to react without even thinking. Unfortunately it means it doesnt take much to disturb his game, and at the moment he still looks a split second out in his movement. Its still possible that if he gets 1 goal it could unleash a whole load of them but the longer this run goes on for the harder he will find it...

I never liked Crespo, IMO he is overrated, but I respect any man with the Intelligence to wear Milan's shirt. We must remember also that he came for free. If Chelsea made a deal like that is for something.

It's just matter of wait and see what happens.

He and the goals are like the same magnetic pools, you just can't keep them together.

he has apparently been dropped out of the Argentina squad. It's crunching time for him now. Not sure how this is gonna affect his performance with us. HE could well become more determined..or..he could hit the new slump.

exactly my thoughts.....

I still think he can have a great year with us....but he must start delivering soon .....I want to think that it is only a matter of scoring his first goal...then nobody willl be able to stop him ....well, we'll see...
