What's up with Lecce by the way? Cheveraton last year and Bojinov this year. They are starting to become the new Parma of producing talants.

Physically, he's out of my criteria of an ideal striker.
better to find out another striker. Bojinov didn't impressed me so far. THat's all.

IF you can say something with some evidence that will be cool. No point in starting a thread saying, "I think so-and-so is awesome" and then "Forza Milan" and that's it. It is not cool at all.

Bojinov is good, but I will say this again we don't need more strikers we already have Sheva who is in great form, Inzaghi (he is injured but he will be back), JDT ( I hope he will finnaly score) and Crespo.
And we also have Boriello and Pozzi....

He has a get out clause for 11m, expensive for an 18 year but I think he has the potential to be a great player for milan. it will come down to who we (Gallini,Silvo, Carlo) want more Bojinov or Gila. we wont sign both of them. here is report from www.channel4.com
Valeri Bojinov may have signed a new contract at Lecce last week – but he is available for transfer at £11m. The striker extended his agreement until 2009 but he’s now revealed details of a clause that will allow an exit before then. The 18-year-old sensation will be sold if a bid of £11m is received by the Stadio Via Del Mare outfit. "I am very happy with my contract because I got everything that I asked for," the Bulgarian stated. "Lecce are now obliged to accept an offer from any club who are ready to pay £11m for my services." The teenager is one of the hottest properties in the European game right now and numerous clubs admire him. Milan, Inter and Juventus have all been associated with a swoop given his development in Serie A. However, there is a possibility that the player could move abroad with Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea linked. |

Our current crop of Milan strikers looks great on paper- but in practice its less than dazzling. Pippo's talent and skill is undoubted but his injury worries mean we haven't yet been able to see the best of Inzaghi and he hasn't been able to nurture a partnership with Shevchenko. Crespo is hitting a patch of form, but only time will tell and his situation will have to be assessed at the end of the season. Tomasson has been less than at his best this season, with poor form and injuries meaning he hasn't quite lived up to his standards yet. We definitely need to bring in a striker at the end of the season as it appears that at least one of our 3 back up strikers (back up to Sheva) is either off form or would be injured next season. A 5th top drawer striker would definitely strengthen the squad and give us that edge in the final third of the pitch.
Bojinov would be a good option but a huge gamble, The thing with Bojinov is he's a hot talent right now, but he's still unproven over two seasons. Last year he did have a decent haul, but nothing to suggest the brilliance of his current season. It'd be a gamble to buy him at the end of this season, because his consistency is yet unproven. That having been said if we DON'T snap him up at the end of the season no doubt Juve or Chelsea will... If we did spend the 11 million pounds on Bojinov I'd bet that Milan's coaching staff could definitely draw the best from the young Bulgarian and turn him into a goal machine. That having been said a better option in the form of Gilardino would be my choice. He had a blistering season with a buoyant Parma team last year, bagging 23 goals and being runner up to Shevchenko in the Serie A scoring lists and has backed that up with 7 goals this season for a lacklustre Parma. He's proven he has the skill to make the grade in Serie A for more than a year. Milan's staff could groom him into an even more potent attacker, with considerable less gamble than with Bojinov. Either striker would be a welcome addition, but in terms of risk, Gilardino represents the better option. |
