one other thing - let's not forget that it is Berlusconi, who is being credited with the idea of loaning Abbiati to Juve. Silvio didn't become one of the richest and most powerful men in the world by making stupid moves, feeling guilty for others' bad luck, or making gracious presents to his rivals

Abbiati or someone else, Juve would have never started the season with Chimenti on goal and would have bought a new keeper. Other names being mentioned to sub for Buffon were Peruzzi and especially Pagliuca. I don't know about you, but I would rather have Milan face Juve with Abbiati on goal instead of Pagliuca, who is an amazing keeper with great experience and a class above our Christian.

I don't see a problem with this loan as this is not the same as Pirlo or Seedorf from Inter. And with so many goalies I am sure Galliani had to find a team soon.

I am really hoping that this move is not one we look back on and regret. I agree that it is a good way for Abbiati to gain experience and be able to one day be our No. 1 keeper or at least inflate his price tag. Berlusconi and Galliani aren't so stupid to just help our rivals out of pity or guilt. Maybe this means Juve will allow us to get Oddo without competition.

Im positive that silvio & galliani know what they are donig, and its also well known that milan and juve are in good relations. Moggi will step aside one day when milan needs someone or something, we will not know it, but it will happen. The maan beehind the scenes is once again Berlusconi and i think milan did good job with this transfer. In worst scenario, abiatti will play for 3 months for juve, and aat the end of the season milan can use him for getting other players, he will be better that he is right now. Good job Galliani and Silvio! And now moggi has to show some class in the future, if the old bastard ( half human-half *** ) has it...

It is for our 7th CL trophy.

I think it is a crazy move. Bottom line for me: if it was Abbiati who proposed, I would hesitate wanting him back to us.

That said, some merit can be found (or guessed). Apart from all that has been said, I am putting forward another guess: Juventus will surely drop tons of points if they played Chimenti both in CL and Serie A. In Italy, they will be buried already. (think of Inter last season. ) In Europe, so long they pull through the group stage, which is highly possible (remember them winning only one game out of 6 some year and still made to the next round), with Buffon's return, they will still be formidable.

Maybe Berlusconi and co don't want to see them to focus on CL too early to be too much a threat for our main goal, the 7th BIG EAR CUP.

although people have given good arguements as to why we should let him go the fact of the matter is he could save so many points for juve in the first half of the season that it could be like the "morientes syndrome", where upon at christmas we could be a few points behind juve due to abbiatis brilliance.

remembering how many points dida saved for us last season this could potentially be a major bananna skin for berlusconi. its not like loaning out a defender or midfielder, the goal keeping position is one of the most important on the field and another fact is hes a good keeper and could save so many points for juve, i hope for our sake he doesnt.....

Seeing that Abbiati is never coming back, I hope he will bring disaster to Juventus. I wish when Buffon comes back, Juventus will be 10 points behind us in Serie A and will soon be eliminated from CL already.

How could he choose Juventus? Goodwill from Berlusconi may weigh, but I doubt he (or his agent) has nothing to do with it from the very beginning. Again, if it was his side that proposed this move (we all know Milan is quite decent treating our own players, so they won't say no for sure), then I will not want him back, no matter what a great/disastrous goalkeeper he will turn out to be in a year. That's it.

Goodbye, Abbiati. I sincerely appreciate and will always remember what you have done for us in the past. Please take care, from now on you are on your own.

I think you overreacting about this A LOT and it is probably time to start looking on these things in a slightly more mature way. I don't mean this as an offense but as a friendly advise ...

what slightly more mature way? would you care to show me one? i have had a lot of emotion from 1980s since i supported milan, but this is one of the weirdest.

why don't you just keep your opinion to yourself and let me have my own? thank you and maybe please take that as a friendly advise instead of an offense?

sportsmanship with dopers, my a$$...

I don't see anything wrong with loaning Abbiati to Juventus. In fact, I think it was a great decision by Milan, a sign of true sportsmanship.
They wouldn't have done the same for us, of course, but this way we can prove that we are better than them, at least. Besides, it will make beating them this season a lot more fun.

this is one of those things one has to find out by himself ... don't worry, when you grow up, it will come to you.
And don't take this to the no man's land of the "I have a right of an opinion" argument, for no one here is denying you this - a childish opinion is still an opinion, isn't it? Of course you have the right of an opinion, but when it consists of proclaiming someone (Abbiati) for a traitor just because YOU ASSUMED that he and his agent fabricated this whole thing, when you start writing off a Milan player - and Abbiati is still one - just because YOU didn't like the fact that he was loaned to the "wrong" club, and when you start assuming that whatever action Milan takes, it should be in accord to YOUR liking, well, then you shouldn't get all that jumpy if someone calls your almighty opinion a childish one.

Again, think logically... Abbiati was out of a freaking job! What would you do in his situation? Take the next best club (juve) or stay unemployed? I mean, yes, he could have gone to many clubs around the world but logically speaking, staying in italy would be best for him. I do NOT wish him the best though, but i understand his motives. At least he didn't join Inter.

And again, for those who haven't clued in, it's so that Juve will step out of the way when Milan want to sign Cassano (either this year, in Jan or next year when Cassano is a free agent).

and in all honesty, we didn't give Juve one of our top tier players.
