Any right back who attacks as much as Cafu is going to leave space behind him. Im amazaed he doesnt leave more. Yes, when he gets forward we can be vunerable, but he provides a constant outlet on the right. We will only appreciate him when hes gone and we have some average joe like Oddo not getting forward nearly enough.

ur arrogance is coming from the way u talk... there arent any points to show u.. u just are!! ... u talk as if u mastered the sport!!!... u probably beleive that u have something more than we do in the knowledge of the game, as if u think deeper than we do and thus u never agree with us.

saying ferreira is better than cafu is like saying francisco pavon is better than maldini.. gimme a break... wether u follow football or u dont anyone by a matter of 2 mins can see that cafu is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than ferreira will ever be... and to say that cafu had a bad last season and that he should be ranked as one of the worst players than season just proves my point... him or pirlo or dida would take my vote as player of the season, cafu played whe whole season with few starts for subs in his position and he always performed well and he was definatly out most dangerous player, without him i doubt we couldve fought for the double. its weird that u think he was sooo bad when he is running for some of the best personal awards for players and even winning some of them

i would like to make a direct comparison with cafu and ferriera to help medhi understand:

Cafu is the most capped player for the most successful footballing nation in the world, he is also their captain, captained them to the last world cup in which he played his 3rd consective world cup final. he has won league titles with sao paulo, roma and milan, south american championship and intercontintenal cup with sao paulo etc. not a bad record is it certainly not the record of a player who could be described as a liabilty.

ferriera on the other hand is a good player but thats all, not a great player and certaintly not a contender to go down in history as the greatest rightback in history

The Bulk of the defensive players are from our team, yet we get read ramblings about how old our defence is and weak we are at the back. Funny Food for Thought.

Why is everyone going on about Makalele shouldn't be there, deco should or kaka should?
Now in my opinion I think Claude M was the most under-rated and valued player in the premiership last year. The man is class and is the primary reason for chelsea having such a good defensive record. By the time a team gets past Mak, they have Terry and Carvalho...

Fair enough he is not a flair player so gets over looked. Lets take him out and put Kaka in. A midfield with Zidane, Kaka, Lampard and Ronaldinho... yeah thats really balanced isn't it? They may score or make about 5 goals a game but your guaranteed the defence behind them would be dropping dead with tiredness inside of 60mins...

Great point...
One more thing: in Portugal NT in EURO, Miguel ex-Benfica and now in Valencia, take the starting job of Ferreira. A good player, but to say that him is better than Cafu is too much...

Cafu was one of the weaknesses of our defence in April and May and it cost us dearly. He was awful again yesterday against Schalke, once again on HIS side, i.e. the right side a player (Lincoln) gets in a cross and we concede. If you haven't noticed a pattern by now you're blind.

How is what he did in the past relevant to his current performances?

Actually he's the best right back in the World today. It doesn't matter how he will be regarded after he retires. I don't care about what Cafu has done for Brazil or what he has won. He's 35 and his age has caught up to him. Like Stam, Gattuso and Seedorf he's become a liability.

what he did in the past should help you apprecite how lucky milan are to have him.

he is 35 so what he is still faster and fitter than 90% of 21year olds.

bottom line is the milan and brazil managers are happy with his performances, as are his fellow professionals and pretty much everyone here in this forum. maybe its just you?!!!

Luck has nothing to do with it.

And can't defend, like most 21 year olds.

If you're happy with players who are liabilities in defence then you're happy with missing out on the scudetto and European Cup last season.

Milan fan or not:

to compare Ferreira to Cafu in the PAST is ridiculous
to compare Ferreira to Cafu TODAY is ridiculous

Cafu is by far the better player.

If you were a real coach of a team gunning for a title this year, and signed Ferreira instead of Cafu, you'd be taking a huge huge gamble.

Don't get me wrong, Ferreira is good but cannot be compared to Cafu's current performance level.

Maybe he even at fault for giving up a goal, apparently according to you, being singlehandledly to blame. Are you trying to tell me that Maldini is a horrible player too because he's given up a lot of goals throughout his long career?

BTW, Chelsea gave up a goal the other day. Their defense must *REALLY* suck to have allowed someone to score on them.

Wow.
