quite the opposite, they are pretty accurate and are often the first to announce a number of transfers/rumours that turn out to be true after that and appear all over the news. The only problem with their credibility is that they QUOTE some pretty crappy italian newspapers like Torino's TuttoSport, for example, and 99% of TS' reports is a hot air balloon full of crap. Nonetheless, TS are still one of the big Sport newspapers in Italy and that's why calciomercato are quoting their articles.

Alex (Ajax) might very well be the most overrated player in MilanMania!

They meant Alex from PSV. Really he should be our priority, maybe even more than Lugano and Torres. Sneijder is just a bonus, I really think we should spend time looking for the bricks to build the new defense rather than the decorations.

To be honest, I think we have been talking about a bunch of players that have not even crossed Milan's management minds... just because someone else in the forum is interested on them...

examples? Ballack, Alex, Schneijder, Torres, Rafael...

Chris is more reallistic...or Lugano.

I know for a fact that the management has certainly at least thinked of all those names u've mentioned SANT except Rafael.

And calciomercato.com is not a site that just releases bs rumours, infact, it is a whole site that actually belongs to a TV program in Italy.. their job is to look for any rumours around and post them.. usually they look at italian newspapers..they are usually the first ones to spread the news, and i cant remember any transfer that we actually made before us being linked to the player in calciomercato.com (did i make sense?).. maybe the only surprise was Vogel..Dhorasoo was rumoured to join a week before he did..

I don't think we'll buy anyone before the end of the current transfer window, but I seem to be reading about Braida traveling to Amsterdam to negotiate for Sneijder everywhere. It would be a fantastic transfer for us. He's a top notch player and he is young. Obviously he's not going to stay in Ajax for the rest of his career, so why not join Milan (maybe he's gotten some advice from his national team coach)?. I think he is a very realistic transfer target for a club like us. Sure he's gonna cost a lot, but I think the Gilardino saga proved that Milan can shell out the big bucks when it's necessary. And we are in desperate need of fresh blood in our squad.

I totally agree with you, Devoted: Sneijder, although still very young, is a fully mature midfielder, with extraordinary assist skills, and also capable of scoring. He can be an outstanding purchase for us, I hope our board pick him as soon as possible, or a club like Chelsea will take him from us. Of course it will not be a cheap transfer, but come on, we're Milan, not a small miserable side!

Milan in Sneijder talks

Wednesday 25 January, 2006
Milan are considering making a bid for Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder, according to reports in Italy.

General director Ariedo Braida flew to Amsterdam on Tuesday to begin talks with the Dutch club about the possibility of bringing the 21-year-old to the San Siro in the summer.

Sneijder, despite his young age, has become a mainstay in both the Ajax and the Holland national team, where he has been preferred to Clarence Seedorf by national Coach Marco Van Basten.

A product of the famous Ajax football academy, the diminutive youngster is strong on the ball, a good dribbler and crosser of the ball, is two-footed and also has an eye for goal, as his two in the Champions League this season have already demonstrated.

Any move for the Utrecht-born set-piece specialist would not come cheap, however, as Sneijder is contracted to the Dutch giants until 2009.
Wouldnt mind this Sneijder dude in my team at all!!
