This introduction is turing into a discussion of football/soccer in the US

The local league here is surprisingly still existent and expanding. Despite the relatively small attendance of the MLS matches most of the clubs are building their own, football specific stadiums. Before they had to play on American Football fields, which was really horrible.
The majority of those who play at the youth level are either Latino-Americans or those of Eastern European descent. However, there are a lot of 'American' Americans who are really getting into the game. All of the local teams have their own 'ultras'. They are not quite as fanatcial as the Italians but they do have their own songs and travel to all of the teams' games.

Many Americans are also discovering the skill and passion Europen Leagues. Unfortunately this is mainly the EPL, as it is the most known and most advertised here.

There are tons of youth teams everywhere. If you were to go to any given park you would most likely see people playing football. The sport at the high school level is also very popular.

Football will never over take over Baseball and American Football here, but it will get close one day.

well, football is the most popular sport because you dont need mony to play it, because all you need is a ball, and you can make a ball out of anything. Becise football has class, and like Eric cantona says, ''it is about skill, heart and honour'', or something like that.
American football for instance, its just about who's stronger and can crack the more bones on the field, and they are all dresssed out like robots, and i dont know, but those guys must get really stupid after receiving all those punches every week.
Football, on the other hand, has always been about beauty, like Valdano said.
''There are winners and loosers, but those who dont look for beauty are mediocres''

just like to say thanks for slowly destroying my country, its kinda amusing. You guys are right tho about the commercials . They all care about money and they now even show like mini commercials for the MLS games like during teh games ull c like 2. They will like pop up ion the corner and like take half the tv screen to the point that you cant even watch the game for 30 seconds. its kind of absurd i think but w/e i still get to see some soccer. Other than that, thanks for the welcomes and GO MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!
