Yes, it's true - should we end up with the same pts, we beat Juve to the title thanks to better record in the direct games.
I believe they made an exception for this season only due to the world cup. don't think the change is permanent, though.

There is no playoff becouse of the World Cup ( which wll be won by superb Brazil superteam.... ) I cant give you source but if Milan nad Juve finish draw in points, we are champions.

This will be a difficult match to win, but having said that, its still winnable.

Juve, should, and probably will win vs Reggina, and as such their 29th scudetto.

I just look back at the dropped points along the way, and wonder how different it would have been had we won vs Lecce... I will be watching the match (hopefully), and I expect one of our better performances vs the Romans.

Totti probably will play at some point, and we need to shut him and their Brazilian, Mancini, down in order to ensure victory.

No predictions, just a bit depressed at the most likely outcome of the domestic portion of this season.

As usual...FORZA MIIIIIIIIIILAN!!

Wait... wait... wait. You said what game again? The may not be on your face, but I clearly recall people trying to rationalize and use the utilitarian way to excuse the scudetto for the CL. Of course they would. And both were conspiracies against Milan. Of course! Didnt I have to apologize about something in this thread? LOL!

From what I gather from the pundits, it is because we had a better "head to head" result than they have against us. We had 1 draw and 1 win. If it had been for Juve 1 draw and 1 win against us, they would be the champs. This is what I get from what members like Zlat and hitman are saying. I'll take what they have said. I have no idea myself really.

It is head to head record. We won 3-1, and drew 1-1 away thus giving us the advantage. If both games were a draw (of the same result only, dont forget that away goals count), then they would see the goal difference. If goal difference is the same, then they would see who has more goals scored.

And no it is not just because it is a world cup year, but i think this is a permanent change.

Ahh Kui...what am I going to do with you!!! We also dropped points against other teams when the UCL was in its infancy this season...I just used the first case of us dropping points that came to mind.

As to your last statement...indeed, and here come the "ifs"...

If Merk hadnt sabotaged our season, we might have been in the final with Arsenal

If we won that game, who would care if we came second to Juve? I for one would be quite happy with a UCL trophy!

If we hadnt lost to Roma, et al, we would be ahead of Juve now...

But if "if" was a fifth, I would be drunk...

Doesn't matter really. It's a win for MIlan if Juventus lose and Milan win.

This change (no play-off) has been taken from this season and I believe it is a permanent change. Source: Galliani said that on acmilan.com when last season was due to finish, someone can look back. it was something like this: We all agreed that in a lenghty season there is no room for 2 play-off matches...

Head-to-head counts first and then goal difference and then the number of goal scored. All these give us a lead should we are able to level the points, the bloody 3 points.

It will be nice to see Juve next year with 27 scudettos and milan with 19 without actually celebrating a thing in the last 2 seasons. Anyway, we'll win against Roma. prediction 2-1 ( gila, gila, mancini)
