Gallas and Oddo could come if they request transfer like Sheva. Maybe Galliani and Berlusconi can get something out of this. With Gallas and Oddo our defence in brilliant. Oddo was again great against Ukraine, he is very underrated playing for Lazio.

Gallas did ask for a transfer but he was turned down.

The thing is, fans are usually very impatient and want all the transfers done as soon as the season is over. There is still a lot of time and I'm sure that Galliani and Burlesconi are working on bringing in the players that Milan needs to remain among the great clubs of Europe. But these things take time.

I'm very pleased with what Galliani has said. Hopefully everyone will read this thread and it will cut down on some of the nonsense that has been going on. We just need to be patient and I have every confidence that our patience will be rewarded.

Let's go for Tevez! I bet this guy is gonna be such a badass as Maradonna was!
I really don't care if he ends up in a cocain affaird in the age of 32 or will be suspended couple of times but i believe he can give us few years of very good services and beautiful football moments. When we clearly know that we won't get another centerforward i guess he's definately the best option. Suazo is a way old (27 or 28 i guess) and well it was his first very succesfull season and nobody knows if he can make that big difference in bigger team. Even he would do good, its solution for only 2-3 years as strikers are losing their speed and ability getting close to 30. Sheva proved a stabile form but i dont see him on the top for more than 2-3 years too.... This argentinian kid could settle for many years or not but there is a big chance he will... Send Braida and Leo to Argentina on first plane before his prize grows too bad after WC.

I dont think there is any coach that would take Nilmar over Tevez. And also, Nilmar doesnt get the attention by the opposition that Tevez gets game after game.

Torres, Ibrahimovic, Eto'o are our options as it looks right now. Eto'o if Barca buys Torres with our help, Ibra if Juve goes down 8 then we'll go for Zambrotta also ), Torres and maybe Suazo in worst case.

People, people, people, people, people....let me share with you another quote from Galliani during his discussion with the press:

Quote:
'This is the third year the London club have asked for him and we have always said no, but this time the player asked. We aren't doing badly in attack: we have Inzaghi, Amoroso and Gilardino, we are confident in them all. Pasquale Foggia is one of our players and we are negotiating for Gourcuff. We have a good relationship with Rennes. Shevchenko will be replaced but we won't bring in a big name because it mightn't work.'
So please, let's forget about bringing in Eto'o, which was never realistic in the first place, and even Tevez, as much as I'd like to have him. Galliani says he won't bring in a big name. He may have Suazo in mind. It may be someone else. We'll have to wait and see. But there's no use speculating about Eto'o or Tevez or Adriano or Ibrahimovich or even Pele for that matter!

It´s your opinion and I respect, but I disagree...Argentine NT coach bench Tevez for Saviola(That IMO is a poor man Nilmar). Nilmar didn´t get the atenttion in the start of the season, but this year he get the same attention by the opposition that Tevez gets. I do not choose players for the hype, but for production, and Nilmar and Tevez are in the same level right now.
I´m not bashing Tevez...I was high on the guy before Corinthians purchase him. Don´t get me wrong, hes a very good player, but is also overrated. After watch Tevez in brazilian championship and in Libertadores, I just don´t think he´s worth of the cash that MSI will ask for him.
I´m not saying that we need to buy Nilmar, I´m just saying that he will produce the same impact of Tevez, for less money. We can also go for Kuyt(sp?)...but if I needed to choose one of Tevez and Torres...Tevez, no doubt!!

Why argue about it? Neither one are coming to Milan.

My two cents...

“Shevchenko will be replaced by someone worthy of him, but we won’t sign a big star unless he’s useful to the side. Didier Drogba and Ruud Van Nistelrooy are centre-forwards, so they wouldn’t substitute Shevchenko in the system. I say no to Ronaldo, as it’s impossible to get close to a Real Madrid player without getting bled dry.”

Galliani No to Drogba, RVN, and Ronaldo ... I have to agree although RVN does look like a bargain, especially considering the age of Pippo and Amoruso. As for Real Madrid, yes its true what he said. I remember they bought Michael Owen for £10M and sold him one year later for £17M. The only player I would like to see from Madrid would be Cassano. Also to Rick, Galliani says "we won’t sign a big star unless he’s useful to the side". So that doesn't mean we won't sign a big name for definite, he is only saying to be careful who we be bring in. I definitely would like to see Torres or Teves or even Ibrahimovic as long as they would work alongside Gila.

“We aren’t in a bad way upfront,” continued Galliani. “There’s Pippo Inzaghi, Marcio Amoroso and above all Alberto Gilardino, who has our faith for the future. Pasquale Foggia will return from his loan spell at Ascoli and will stay at San Siro, while we’re in advanced negotiations for Yoann Gourcuff after entering very productive talks with Rennes.”

I'm glad to see he has faith in Gilardino, as for the other two strikers, they are quality players but we definitely need a fourth. I've heard a lot about Gourcuff but never seen him play, but we need an attacking midfielder with Rui Costa's departure. Arsene Wenger has also been scouting him so he must be talented, because Wenger has a good eye for young players.

“I requested Massimo Oddo, but Lazio said he was not for sale and I respect that decision. I have no intention of irritating clubs that make their intentions clear, unlike for example Real Madrid’s strategy,” added Galliani.

Oddo would be a welcome addition, and would help our aging defence. Gallas is out of the question unless he makes a big fuss, because Galliani has already said he tried to get him in the Sheva deal but Chelski wouldn't allow it.

"Some of this group will be loaned out, but definitely not sold.”

Not suprised that we will loan players out, as we always do. I also agree that we should not sell anyone, UNLESS we are going to replace them with quality players i.e. Gattuso for Diarra.

"Some will stay, others will go on loan while we have more players coming through the youth ranks. If next season two go (we have Maldini and Costacurta) then the following three and then four go, I have compiled a list for the upcoming years."

He makes a very good point about the youth ranks. Everyone is thinking about their dream signings (including me ) but we forget about our youth system that has produced players like Maldini, Billy, Albertini, Ambro etc.

another interesting point that galliani made was he will change his policy, that has been around for 20 years, from allowing unhappy and still under contract players to leave to not allowing them to leave even if they are unhappy! is it good to keep unhappy players??

The quote I have is directly from the AC Milan website. Here it is in context:

Quote:
THE ATTACK. With Shevchenko leaving for Chelsea, Galliani said: 'This is the third year the London club have asked for him and we have always said no, but this time the player asked.
Obviously if Milan suddenly had the opportunity to land someone such as Tevez or Eto'o at a reasonable price, they would do it. But I think Galliani is facing up to the reality that those kind of players aren't available available without paying ridiculous fees. As he said in regard to Kaka (and I think he was also making a subtle hint about this matter): "I have to say that it's easy to buy a player for 40-50 million euro and it looks good: it's another thing to bring in a 19-year-old lad into the team when you have Rui Costa and Rivaldo, and then manage to bring him along in a short time. This is the sort of thing that gives you a lift, the beautiful thing about football."

But Rick, he only says it might not work, not it won't work

But as ever with any press release/interview you can always read between the lines a little and make some observations by what he is or isn't saying.

We'll just have to be patient, which i confess i'm not the best at.

Haha. That's true. Well obviously there would be some big names who would work. Henry certainly would have! And there are others. But part of what he means, I think, is that he won't bring in a big name just to bring in a big name -- which is what many people look at. Ruud Van Nistlerooy wouldn't work. Eto'o would work, but he's not available. Tevez would probably work, but Corinthians wants a ridiculous fee for him (the president has claimed he wants 68 million pounds and they supposedly turned down 22 from Chelsea). Suazo and some others would probably work and might be available at a reasonable price. They just wouldn't carry the name.

And yes, it's difficult to be patient, that's for sure. But there's nothing we can do but wait!
