Milan After Rafael Sobis

I think Sobis is a player we should keep an eye on but don't see Milan getting him now as he could hardly offer something more than Gila or Pippo. He has yet to really prove himself that he is good enough even for the best teams in Brazil let alone a club like Milan and to do so takes much more than several impressive games and nice goals.
i think, at this point, if there is really any Interest from Milan for Sobis, we consider him more of an alternative to Iaquinta and Suazo rather than Ronaldo, Tevez, Torres i.e. Sobis is more of an alternative for a striker we could go for if we do NOT make it in the CL.

Sobis is awesome. Internacional is one step from being Champions of the Libertadores Cup and Sobis is doing GOOD. he scored 2 goals on the first leg against Sao Paulo at the Morumbi (Sao paulo stadium).

I think that's the impression you get from reading all the stories about players being linked. Beware that most of the stuff you read is only rumours, and probably have no truth to it whatsoever.

I don't think they are desperate, only cool and waiting for the right moment to buy the right striker for the right price.

Exactly.. also they want to make a WISE decision.. not just buy the first 20-24 year old striker they see. Just have patience..we'll sign a great striker.

He will make a good addition, better than Amoroso

I dont know why people think he will be purchased as a fourth striker. I really think he is better than Gila and Inzaghi at the moment. Has anyone been watching Copa Liberatodes this season? he has been sensational. We were also close to getting him in April/May I believe. We should go for him, but not in the expense of Tevez.

Don't you think his size(or lack thereof) will make a difference in his performance in Serie A..?

It's not like he's a midget, i don't think it'll effect his performances at all.

He's bigger than Tevez or Messi and I don't think most would complain too much about either of them. (Although admittedly there are some here who would find reason to complain no matter who Milan bought.)

Sobis is one of the best young players in Brazil. I'd be quite happy if Milan were to buy a young player of his ability.

I have no problems with us getting a young player, matter of fact, I think that he could be a good aquisition...this is the very reason why I wasnt adamant on Crespo coming...we need a longer term investment than 29+ year olds can offer.

We need a player that can give us what Sheva gave for 7 years...almost always producing 15+ goals per season...and making assists as well.

This is why personally, Tevez is my 1st choice, since he can both provide, and finish chances...however, I dont know that Sobis can play this role...can he?

Well then I have no problem with him coming.. Brazilians generally have a quick style of play which will benefit us on the counter attack. The only thing is.. Kaka + Gila + Sobis in attack.. what happens if he doesn't fit in well ? Gilardino isn't exactly reliable when it comes to firing goals in, especially in CL.

Then we take off Gila, and put on Pippo...or we start with Pippo, then put Gila on...I think Gila has a world of potential, we just need patience with him.

If this Sobis can hold the ball, beat players, make assists, and score goals, we may not need a Torres..or a Ronaldo..I would be fine if he is 85% of Tevez´s ability.

that's what I am thinking too. Milan cannot buy every other "phenomenon" that comes out of Argentina or Brazil. Imagine what would have happened if that were the case with all the Aguerros, Cavenaghis, Svaiolas, Luis Fabianos, Freds, Diegos, Robinhos, etc, etc, etc. What is the dif between when all these came into prominence and attracted the fans' attention and this case with Sobis? Absolutely no dif at all.
As Mystik said, it takes some patient scouting and we need to make sure that should we go ahead, we would be doing so for the right player (like Kaka) not just another fan favourite, who has managed several good games in a row. Not only funds but also space on the team is limited - at most 4-5 strikers - so we can't just buy Brazilian and Argentinian talent by the kilo and then throw away whoever has proven to be yet another overhyped product.

Exactly. I think our board will make a smart decision on the young players they buy.. just as they did with Sheva when he was 22-23 and Kaka and Gourcuff(whose impact is left to be seen.. but has impressed in training so far). I'll support our board 100% with whatever decision they make.(unless it's Drogba.. )

Do you'll support Ronaldo or Iaquinta, Mystik?
