secondly, when you consider the players we have that Carlo has shaped into the team. It's all very easy to say, oh he has Pirlo, one of the best midfielders in the world. When we signed him he was an attacking midfielder that was considered to slow to realy cause a threat. Seedorf was a swap deal player. Gattuso was reckoned to have no skill. Kaka only cost 5m. Dida was a joke. Cafu was considered past it and released by Roma. Carlo took these elements and shaped them into one of the best teams in the world. To me carlo is one of the most important factors in our success.

Personally speaking, I don't really like Ancelotti. He seems to be a little egiostic to my taste. He's not the type of coach to inspire the team to success. This is why Billy and San Paolo came into pictures. Both of them will take care the teamwork aspect of its member.
Though I do agree, tactically, he's great. I even rate him higher than Rijkaard or Wenger or Maurinho, in term of tactics. Unfortunately, the rare off day (Istanbul Final) he has turned out to be the most important day of the year. And it was Ancelotti's fault. There, I said it. But he was also responsible in our QF win against Lyon. Putting Maldini while we need another goal? Heylo! But the gamble did pay off. Now, I want to see him used this rotation system thing, and worked each player according to their strength. I hope he will find away to ease the dependency on Kaka'. |

as far i'm concerned, coach should be the team "commander" and the players should obey his orders. IF kaka had argument with Carlo i think it's Kaka's fault and not the other way around. It's player's job to play and its coach's job to play the players and positions he thinks he needs to. If that aint working than we have bad coach or spoiled players. So far its working...

Carlo is a great manager! He is, whats the word, .... ehmm... he's a great PEDAGOGUE, like a mentor... and he takes good care of the team and the system that he uses is a fgreat one, but sometimes in some games, like today vs. Livorno its just...I mean .... (Game lost by Carlo Ancelotti) (R)(TM).
I guess those games set the players off totaly. It set ME of today,...you could imagine what it does to the players.... If he could just learn how to rotate properly and select proper players for some games we would have a different thread about him. The team can win most of the games using the players and the tactics Carlo is. But just as that is true, its true that there are some games that can't be won like that. Like this one today. And what aches is that ACM HAS THE PLAYERS to win those games, Carlo just messes things up!! If he cant fix that, I'm sorry but he's gotta go.... |

the CL final in Istanbul isn't Ancelotti's fault one bit... it was the players' ego & over-confidence that resulted in the lost of concentration...

Would you rather someone like Capello or Mourinhio to manage Milan. We would fall asleap every match with boredom and still have less of a chance of winning the CL.

"ct, to be honest, you could just say you disagree with people. 'nough said."
If I said something like this, would I feel better? Yes. Would it make the discussion anyway more productive? Not at all. Your 'nough said' put the whole discussion dead. Okok, spare me with the 'everyone is entitled with his opinion'. Sometimes it's just easy to carp. |

@ ct... sayin' i disagree is an option i choose not to use... simply because by sayin' so doesn't mean anythin'... no reasons for the difference in opinions... by actually clarin' my views that the players were the sole reason for the defeat actually means somethin'... because than & there i pointed out a reason for not agreein'... as for Liverpool fieldin' another midfielder doesn't actually make a big difference... why should Milan have to adapt to their formation & tactics? as our team was good enough to win regardless how many midfielders they field?

just taking an extract...
"The pitch side television cameras caught the exchange during yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Livorno and it comes just a few days after a similar argument with Kaka. “You have to play the ball quickly. You’re too slow,” said the Coach from the side of the field. Seedorf responded: “Focus on Coaching. You can’t just criticise. Instead of shouting, you might like to give us a hand from the bench.” Ancelotti was furious and answered the Dutchman. “And you focus on playing. You’re lucky I’ve run out of substitutions, otherwise you’d be off.” im just gettin annoyed with him, all hes doing is arguing |

Daniel, if the other team starts becomming more dangerous by a player suddenly finding some form (like a winger being brought on and causing damage or a midfielder sparking into life) and this danger is continuous then you adapt to stop the danger. Regardless of how good you think our team is, you can't just stick to the same formation/tactics that are seeing you come under pressure, that's just asking for trouble. edit: nevermind, i saw it on ch4. I have to back Ancelotti here, he's seen the problem and he's telling Seedorf how to fix it. Seedorf telling Ancelotti to stick to coaching is a bit ridiculous also ... umm Clarence, what do you think he's doing by telling you to play the ball quicker?? COACHING!!!!!! Seedorf isn't in any position to answer back, he should just shut up.

these things happen all the time and everywhere, not just at Milan ... it's just that now it comes out in the papers cause some camare caught it.
Plus, criticizng and trying to motivate players, especially during a game, is part of what the coach's job is about. If those players cant take a strong word, then that's their problem. It's funny cause until now Carlo was believed by some people here to be too soft with the players. He was even blamed for having Seedorf for his favourite and constantly playing in 1st team even when off form, etc, etc Now that this comes out and puts all those old and baseless "blames" to rest, he is again guilty biut this time for being too argumental and harsh with the players ... I don't know about you, but I think some people just don't know what it is they want and whatever happens, they would go on scapegoating Carlo even at the expense of contradicting themsleves. But again, I believe you are worrying too much about these "arguments" - the one with Kaka earlier and now with Seedorf - and try to make something out of nothing. These things happen constantly, they have been going on even when Milan won CL, scudetto etc, etc ... and it is only normal that they do. Problem now is that Milan has been at the center of lots of negative things and the papers are extra-curious about anything that's going on at Milan that doesn't include kisses on the neck and make-out sessions between coach and players.

To be honest, I can't help but laugh at the argument between Seedorf and Carlo, I just found it hilarious when Carlo said "You’re lucky I’ve run out of substitutions".
I'm not too worried at this point, these things happen, especially during harder times (like towards the end of the Livorno match) when people are getting edgy. |
