Arsenal-Milan CL Round of 16 Leg 1

if we have fit and in form ROnaldo puls Pato and Kaka the Arsenal will have a very diffecult time in dealing with our counter attacks.

Hey guys, I think there's something we should start worrying about...

Arsenals Eduardo is starting to score goals for fun... We know they play really good football, but never seem to have a finisher (after Henry left)...

But they seemed to have found a new no.9, and Mr. Eduardo is starting to hit form at the worst possible time for us... I hope he slows down by mid Feb...

Aren't they peaking too early ?

Eduardo is only scoring vs 2nd div teams though. Stop Fabregas & Van Persie we can win. Others can be matched by our midfield & our attacking potential has been upgraded with Pato. If R99 could get 4 games out of the way b4 then, it could make things alot more interesting.

Tony is right about Eduardo, he is scoring for fun in the league cup and FACup but probably wont even play against Milan, his only league goals came against Everton and were total gifts, he finished them well enough but as long as Nesta doesnt let an 80 yard hoof bounce over his head like Jagielka did Milan will be ok

Fabregas and Van Persie are 2 threats but Adebeyor and Hleb will have to be stopped too. Rosicky is quite easily neutralised though, considering his reputation he always seems to be on the fringes of games.

In Winning Eleven, my milan is always tortued by Hleb on the left (my friend loved using Arsenal for their speed).

So I played 4-3-2-1 and he has no space to run, also thanks to Milan players' great positioning....

I was on vacation for the majority of Dec, so I didnt really follow up with MM as I should have..but I am back at work now, so I will be posting more often.

As to them peaking too early...hmm...dont think so...Wenger is no dullard, and will be ensuring that his team continue to develop as the season goes on...

I saw their reserve team (with Toure and Sagna being the only usual starters) have some difficulty overcoming lesser opposition in the FA Cup on the weekend...and they managed to win, mostly because of their excellent passing game.

My point: They are developing that winning mentality, they can win ugly, as well as pretty...they have teenagers playing like veterans...

Time will tell though, if they have actually peaked before the correct time..but personally I dont think so...

This will be the most fearfull I have been in the UCL for a long time...including our loss to Barca (even if that game was stolen, and we should have won the away leg)...and if any team is capable of putting bundle of goals past us, its them.

For me, they are playing the best football in Europe at the moment...they will be difficult opponents, and only the possible impact that the ravages of the African Nations Cup could create, can make me feel confident of facing them (ie without Toure, et al) and us advancing.

Agree with you, Wenger is no idiot, if anyone knows how to manage and get the best out of his player, I believe Wenger is about the best there is...

Right now, I've got a bad feeling about this game... but i hope my feeling with change after the Napoli game (a.k.a Pato's performance)

Peaking too early will only cost them if they get a fixture pile up, in th later rounds of the CL that would be a big possibility as English teams still in all 4 competitions in March/April end up playing far too much (thats why the treble was such an achievement )

In February though there wont be a fixture pile up, and Arsenal use their reserve side in the early rounds of the FA Cup and League Cup anyway so most of the players are quite well rested.

I have just 10 exams to take before discussing the final thesys. Most of them are not that big (200 pages) so i hope within one year i will finish them. Then i will have to work at my final thesys.

In Italy we have many problems with employment, so if something goes wrong after the University i can still pick up a few moneys and come over there in Jamaica to open a new "Bar Italia" with football shown all week long...
I'm sure other members such as Jim can be intested in the project

I have 14 more, so if I fail to take some good job in here, we can all go to Jamaica and opet the " calcio bar" In fact, it sounds better then working 8 hours a day in here!

I for one would be definately interested...we currently have a few sports bars, but none devoted soley to football...its actually one of my retirement plans...lets work on it, even if u get a good job after graduation!!

Surely mrki! I am all for it!! Flat screen tvs, wifi, pretty girls in short shorts and soccer jerseys serving "refreshments"....dru...any T&T capital to invest for a "sure shot" return?
