Guys, why are you all so surprised? If it was Maldini or Kaka then that's one thing, but this is ROnaldo. The guy has never been a saint. How many girlfriends, weddings, infidelitites has the guy had? We shouldnt be so surprised that this sort of thing has happened. ON the contrary, I am rather surprised that he survived in Milan for this long without some "scandal" or another.

BTW, he didnt break any laws, no one can prove what happened in the motel room, although we know It's his word vs the trannies, I dont think his sponsorship, Milan career, etc will be affected.

The best thing for him to do is to stay in Brazil and end his career there. We don't need him and i think far too many people are being very sentimental towards a player who doesn't really deserve it seeing as he's only been at our club a relatively short period of time.

Ronaldo explains all
Monday 5 May, 2008

After a week of silence, Ronaldo has returned to speak to the Press to explain the recent controversy in Brazil.

Speaking to the cameras of the Brazilian TV Rede Globo the Milan striker confessed his regret regarding the events that have involved him recently.

Reportedly, he had been blackmailed by three transvestites, who he had picked up outside a disco in Rio de Janeiro.

“I did something really stupid. Everybody can make errors and I made one,” he admitted.

“I didn't even realise they were transvestites. As a player I am generally on a different level, but I am a person who has his weakness and fears which makes me as normal as anyone else.”

Ronaldo also went on to reveal details regarding that crazy night in Rio.

“I had an argument with my girlfriend and then I went to three prostitutes to heal my sorrows. I wasn't drunk and when we got to the hotel I realised they were men so I decided to kick them out.

“But at that stage they started asking for money. I offered them a liquidation and two accepted while the other asked for an incredible amount saying that he/she would reveal everything to the Press.”

Now the 31-year-old is looking to recover from his injury and hoping to forget about that night as soon as possible.

“I have to rebuild everything around me, it is like when a house gets blown away from a tornado. Now I have to start everything all over again.”

Despite the scandal, Ronaldo has kept his position as a Unicef peace ambassador although there are fears over the Brazilian's sponsorship deals with TIM and Nike.

Question: Are we really gonna pay this guy 4 million euros for this disaster of a season he's had?

May be he should have had just paid the tranny what he-she had asked for. Then again, if this hadn't happened, our management still would have had dreamt of having him for next season.

TBH, i wouldnt careless if ronaldo is involved with 3 or 1000 tranvestiles if he were not our player. But if the guy wears a red and black shirt, he must honour that shirt both on and off the pitch. have we ever heard stupid stories which involve Maldini, Nesta, Ambrosini,...and so on. Ronaldo must know that kids and a lot of people look up to him. He is an unicef ambassador for god's sake !!! Yes it's right that everyone makes mistakes now and then but not everyone is wearing the red and black shirt. So I agree with Jim here..best thing for you is to do your own damage control even if it means you stay and end your career in Brazil.

he did say he wasn't drunk, but he didn't mention not being on any drugs. given that he had prepared this statement to release to the public, had he not been on drugs it would have been very smart of him to specify this.

it leaves him very open to speculation that he was in fact on drugs...which would possibly help explain his claims that he didn't know the prostitutes were transvestites until he returned to the hotel with them

it still cracks me up though...if he's telling the truth...that his explanation for this whole incident was that some prostitues were going to "heal his sorrows" after the fight with his girlfriend

He's said he wasn't on drugs in his most recent interview (with AS). I also think his agent said it.

I think all this has been blown right out of proportion. You guys honestly think that footballers don't engage in vices---girls, alcohol, drugs, night clubs?

Ronaldo is just a typical footballer, he does what the majority of footballers do, that's why I'm the least bit surprised that he was involved in this. He must have done this sort of thing tons before, but just got caught this once.

If it was someone like Kaka, then sure, this sort of reaction is warranted...
