Sheva's salary will be set according to our wage brackets. He wont be paid more than 4020000 million euros a year, which he has probably agreed to. He currently earns 7440000 million euros at Chelsea.

The only issue is with his transfer is with Chelsea. A sensible decision would be to get him on loan and create a situation similar to that of Crespo's.

There is plenty of reason I dont' want a 32 year old player from a english reserve team that is on his way down in his career. Some people could say it is hard to get further down in his career, but I believe it is possible. Extravagant wages to a finished player that just want to hang out with his old friends again? Why not? I am free and willing to come on really low wages.

I dont think he is a finished player. You dont go from being the best striker in the world to being a reserve player in just 2 years. He is not doing well because he doesnt suit Chelsea and their style of play and the coach does not have faith in him. If he joined Man Utd or Arsenal, he probably would have continued where he left off at Milan. As Ancelotti once told Crespo, "You dont forget how to play football."

By the way, Crespo is a great example. Remember when he joined us in 2004/05 from Chelsea? Everyone was saying he was a finished player---then look what happened.

When all is said and done, Im still against getting Sheva, not because he is of no value, but because we already have Pato, and if we get Dinho, then there is absolutely no need for someone like Sheva. We need a good targetman, Drogba, Etoo, Adebayor anyone?

I respect your opinion but why do you think Sheva's arrival will hurt Pato, especially since Ronaldinho's move looks more unlikely by the day?

It depends on the system we use. At present we use a 2 AM 1 CF system. That would be:

Kaka Seedorf

Striker (?Boriello)

Pato can slot in either as one of the two AM's or the CF. If R10 comes, then we look like this:

Kaka R10

Striker

Pato will be sub for either Kaka, R10, or the Striker. And of course, Seedorf will be sulking on the bench. Now where can Sheva fit in? If he comes and moves above Pato in the pecking order, then that means less time/chance for Pato, no?

Either way, the point is that we need a targetman, not a support striker like Sheva.

Formations change as the players come and go. Considering the good amount players we will be bringing in, I don't see any reason why the formation won't change next year either. May be if we change to 1 AM, 2 FW formation, Sheva will surely be able to play along with Pato/Pippo/Boriello/Paloschi.

And again, it is very much likely that Ronaldinho won't join us either.

Imagine if Pato's game goes to hell. We wouldn't have a player to play like him. Sheva can fill the role of being Pato's sub.

Also, Sheva is a classic finisher. He can use his head and feet really well and is strong enough to handle Serie A defenders. Why can't he be seen as a target man? I mean, in the modern game, he is our highest goal scorer.

with lost physcial fitness, confidence and match practice a player can lose a lot. It was not like he was stellar just before he left either.

Tell that to Gilardino. The coach had plenty of faith in him, he played a lot early on, but his performances didn't warrant he would continue to start. It is the second year that he got moved down to playing reserves. If that is not a declining player, I don't know what is. It is VERY questionable that he would just perform with those other clubs.

Everyone didn't say that at all. I personally pointed out that he scored a goal every second game in Chelsea despite seldom playing whole games. He was also younger. In the end his contribution to us is overrated since he scored in the last stage of UCL. His scoring in serie A wasn't good.

He is a COST. His wages is something that could be used for something else.

It is very likely he will. Ambrosini even said something that was more or less saying that he will come.

Berlu had also said that we do not need him.

Berlu Jr. has said that buying Ronaldinho would be a waste.

Galliani still maintains that the gap between Milan and Barca is too high.

If not more, these statements are as credible and reliable as Ambrosini's statement.

Berlu said that we dont need him before Ronaldinho price dropped (from last year). He is still Berlu's fav player. When Ronaldinho price decreased deeply, Milan annonced their interest to this player.

I am quite sure that Ronaldinho will come to Milan. Berlu will pay quickly the difference what Milan offer and Barca demand if the transfer market this summer is near its ending.

That is a value judgement. Even he can lose alot doesn't mean that he can't come back either.

A player's form is never constant. Also Sheva's form had been more consistent for us than any other striker we had. If we bring him in the Milan atmosphere and our midfielders supply him selflessly he will return to his form. Chelsea neither had a good atmosphere nor their players were selfless.

His wages would be as high as Gattuso's/Pirlo's/Seedorf's. You should have complained about these's players wages too when they weren't playing well for us. If he scores goals like he did, his wages will not be a problem for us. In the last 2 years I have heard our management whine about only 2 player's wages which would be of Dida's and Ronaldo's. I am sure Sheva is not as patchy as Dida or as weak as Ronaldo.

The last two statements are pretty recent. His opinion about Ronaldinho has changed. Also, after these comments I have not come across him saying that we need Ronaldinho.

That being said, if Barca's demands meet our demands, then he will come for certain. But like Galliani has said the gap is just too big. Also, didn't Ronaldinho's brother meet Shinawatra in Bangkok?

And where is the post about Ronalindho's price which dropped from last year? (news about a club or few clubs would use something from the rules to buy Ronaldinho in very cheap price compare to his last year price).

What I remember, Berlusconi made the first statement official after winning against one club (I forget which club is that) and the Ronaldinho's price appeared after that comment.

About the two last comments, I wont believe what Berlus said there (if its true Berlu said it) so easily as Milan was/is negotiating with Barca and we all know that there is still no agreement between the two clubs. It's about market. If Milan show their interest intensively then Barca will win (Milan will pay the gap).

It's unlogic for me if Berlu doent have interest anymore in Ronaldinho. We all know how crazy Berlusconi last year and we all know how tough Berlusconi with his opinion/choice.

Kris, there is no doubt that the Sheva of Chelsea is no where near the Sheva of Milan, but you cannot discount the importance of the team environment and the "fit" between a player and a team. Yes, Sheva has lost the confidence and physical ability, but given the right environment, he can regain all of that and come back to being a top class player (albeit only for a few years due to his age).

How was the Andrea Pirlo of Inter Milan. Was he a finished player? What about the Clarence Seedorf that played for Inter. Was he finished? What about Ronaldinho, would you say he is finished? What about Ronaldo when he moved from Madrid to us last year and scored some key goals, Madrid thought he was finished, but was he? If not for injury, he would have been a key figure this year too.

My point is that class is permanent. A proven world class player may have difficulties playing in a team or league that doesnt suit his game, but that doesnt make him a "finished" entitity. I dont agree with pursuing Sheva, but if he finds the right environment (ie team or manager or league) I have no doubt that at the age of 31 he can still perform at the highest level.
