Philippe Senderos our new capture!

WTF????????????????? They said they were going to sign a first-choice CB, if not - they wouldn't sign any one at all. Senderos is in no way better than Kaladze. I'll keep hoping that this is not true, channel4 and goal.com say its official - acmilan.com and the biggest rumour mill calciomercato still haven't commented on the issue. Usually if a player joins a club the first to comment on whether its official or not is the club's official site. I'll pray that this is all a rumour.

Good choise(i will wait until is official) he is very young with experience at the best and most difficult league of the world, that makes him not only a good DC but also a known DC who can play in top leagues.He is young with future and can be a great DC.
The best is that we didn't sign an old or an uknown DC.Good choice. We get him on loan but at the end of the year we have an option to sign him 100%.

what do you guys were expecting, ricardo carvalho or kolo toure?

Are we writing this guy off already without even have the opporutnity to seeing him play once? I'm not ready to do it yet, but he is probably not the first rate defender we are looking for. That, we may have to wait until next season (when we are back into the CL).

Well actually I'm sure a lot of us HAVE seen him play quite often. I watch the EPL and have seen Senderos play for both Arsenal and Switzerland for at least 2-3 years and let's be honest he hasn't been a star CB.

But I'll agree with you that we should not be writing him off without seeing him perform in a Milan shirt. I made the same argument for our dear friend Andriy yesterday, so I would be a hypocrite to say otherwise.

Based on what I've seen of Sanderos...he is comparable to Kaladze which honestly should be a good addition to the squad. Plus he's younger so you never know he may surprise ppl with a run of consistent performances. The biggest thing he has going for him is nothing technical though....it's that Wenger hand-picked him several years ago and that usually is a good sign.

Anyway....welcome Philippe....wish you do well in a Milan shirt....hopefully it's another Philippe (Mexes) this time next year

about this news, not sure if it is really official, but if it is, i still think it's a good move. remember, senderos had actually played good football before especially in 2006 when Arsenal reached UCL for the 1st time. senderos mistake prone for the last 2 seasons may be due to other factors such as the team inconsistency (Arsenal players is too young to play consistent football, lack of team's experience, and no definite back four which i think always change (is it?)). beside, senderos is still young, only 23. he maybe slow but he can improve himself on positioning which maldini and nesta do best.

anyway, i wish him best of luck if he really is in milan next season.

Its a loan-- so its good business on milan's part. Would have liked to see Zapata or Filepe(both Udinese)....Vincent Kompany or Micha Richards....but we r short of cash it seems. Senderos was a talent only a couple of years back....and with players like Maldini,Nesta Ronaldinho, Kaka', Sheva......and Flamini (prev team-mates) he can do good......and maybe reach his potential. Hope for the best . Yo Milan.

For me it's not about giving chance to Sanderos or not, but what boards think of our defence. Sanderos is no way better than our DC like Kaladze or Bonera (till-now-played performances). I thought, we were looking a WC DC or at least a better DC than we have right now (better than Kala for example, like more consistent even the new DC is not a WC defender). But we get 'only' a young and pretty-mistake-prone DC, just like Kala and Bonera.

So, the point is how our plan was : looking quality or quantitiy for the defence?

sendores is 23 and shown flashes of brilliance. and playedfor a big club in a big league. sure zapata has shown hes talented but at udinese. Bonera and kaladze may be better than senderos now (although i disagree) but in 5 years time when hes bonera's age.. he'l be better i think.

again i harp to fact we took loan w/ fix buy option. Minimal risk.

only young defenders who show world class ability r cheillini and pepe. granted id say santacroce, kompany, micah richards, breno all show as much if not more potential than senderos..... we shall see....i think he'll be useful, mark my words he'll surprise more than sissoko did at juve. italian style suits him more. onto kompany. 6mil!? now theres a potential steal

Yes, mate. I agree, he will be useful. For future (or in two or three years time) he is good option. My point is only, why we bought useful player? We really need a player to accompany Nesta.

Just let say we dont know who is better among Kala, Bonera or Sanderos. So, it means they will struggle for a single place to play with Nesta in heart of defence. This means, we got a DC which is clearly not better than Kala or Bonera.

My point is : Milan need better CD (either WC defender or consistent-performance CD).

In addition, we know Carlo. He won't use younger player if there is older player if their qualities are pretty similar (whhic is so logic for me). So, what our boards think actually?

Forget about Kompany, i saw him two years in the Bundesliga - and he was disappointing me. Of course, he was a solid player, but was injured very often and remained in his development. Hamburg did well to sell him to Manchester City.

Well, is Sanderous really an upgrade from Simic?

And at the end Sanderous will cost us 8M, which is about 4 more mil than Zapata at current market value.

I really think this Sanderous deal is for depth and Zapata will be coming next year.
