Let's not forget that milan usually plays well the first games in European group stage and then just slide away (coz we field more mediocre players). If Milan wins their first two games I think Portsmouth could easely get some points against us.
So Popeye cheer for us on our first two games
Than anything could happen

It was international break unfortunately.
I saw on the Portsmouth website that you have to purchase a ticket for Milan and Heerenveen for £40, so it looks unlikely I'll be able to go now - unless if I can try and get an away ticket somehow.

Lookimg forward seeing the slowest playmaker in football history - Kranjčar - against Rino hahaha, that will be fun

Well, there was one slower, Prosinecki. But he was absolute world class, a man who would dribble out God himself if only he had the opportuniti. World U21 champion and best player in that U21 WC, CL winner and World champion with Red Star, and best player in there...People say he smoked 2 packs a day and there is a story that he was ordered to quit smoking or he needs to leave Barca and his contract will be terminated. He lit up a cigarrette and walked out of the club's offices...joined Real Madrid as a free player

My "friend" ( a person I know, but cant be classified as a friend as is a bit older then me), was in sport army ( kind of army that is there just for "fun", for pro players of all kinds ) with Prosinečki and said he smoked like a mad man and drinked a lot during that period. Like Dinho!

A little story that could be interesting, as Portusmout fans tent to compare Kranjcar to Prosinecki, who also played in there when they were not even in premiership. In that time Crouch played with Prosinecki, like he now plays with Kranjcar.

The king of show at Portsmouth:

This story is just for fun, so we enjoy the Portsmouth-Milan theme more.

@ mrki : i also rate boban as a slow playmaker. in WC '98 when prosinecki played side to side with boban and asanovic as midfielder with jarni (left) and stanic (right) in croatia NT, i saw boban got and played the main role as playmaker. i think prosinecki oveshadowed by boban existance. what do you think mrki ?

Kranjcar may be slow, but he is one of the best Pompey`s players. I don`t know ih he`s gonna be fit for match against Milan, but without him and Muntari, Pompey is much weaker. But... Milan is way out of Pompey`s class, so we can win there, no doubt. Don`t underestimate Kranjcar, you can even see how Croatia misses him, even with players like Rakitic and Modric to cover him. Many people in Croatia doesn`t like him just because he left from Dinamo to Hajduk, and that`s like leaving from Milan to Inter or Real Madrid for Barcelona.

isn't it a bit too early to talk about this game though?

I'd like to talk about Defoe and Crouch, Jim
I think he could create some damages with his tallness. I see Maldini will be on Crouch and I would play with Bonera on Defoe, which is the main threat, imo, because beeing fast, he will run every time to the net in order to receive all the balls headed by Crouch. That is the story, because we (I hope) will play without Favalli, otherwise hundred of crosses will arrive from our left flank in the middle for the Pompey big tree.

I dont really understand what you ment to say. But yes, Boban is also a slow playmaker, but faster then Prosinecki and Kranjčar. And classes above Kranjcar of course. If you wanted to say that Prosinecki was overshadowed by Boban in 98 Wc then I cant agree 100% as Prosinecki played great what he got to play. Scored twice and played well. But Zvone also played great. Of course Zvone was our legendary captain, and in general, in MY oppinion, a better player then Prosinecki. ALdough Robert was a unique and special player.

Sandicro Im from Osijek so I dont care about Kranjcar-Dino-Hajduk thing I just think that Rakitic is a better player then Niko and Croatia suffers a bit coz there is no Da silva, not Kranjcar.

But anyway, it will be an interesting game. Looking forward seeing Crouch again.

This should be an interesting match up,
but honestly I could care less about the
UEFA CUP.

Lo Scudetto is the #1 priority in my book.

A trip to S Siro would have been unforgettable for you, but playing in Portsmouth is better for all those who eventually can't afford the trip for money- family reasons.
