Guys there s not point in us being optimistic alone unless we have our players doin that and Berlu need s to stop being pessimistic and only then can anyone get optimistic coz optimistic is a very funny word. Well m just hoping for the best. FORZA MILAN.

The thing is that what does it mean by being optimistic, does that mean the expectation of MIlan is finish in a CL spot and get into the knockout stage of CL next year, or actually challenging and winning CL and the league, or just beat Inter....

If being optimistic means Milan finishing top 4 in the league, then I am optimistic but if it means chellenging for titles, then I am a far way from that.

it's true we don't need anybody to be champions, we have a lot of players who can play on a highest level

I mean be optimistic as in hoping we will sign 2 great defenders, 1 great striker, and another Mid. That inter might get off to a slow start, that we get that lucky last min goal against Bologna instead of them on us.

I dont want this team to win on luck and miracles, but i do want some of that luck and miracle to go our way. The years before we gave up so many games in the last 10 min, what if we can hold on to those and win them?

These are my optimistic thoughts. If most of us and most of all the fans around the world feel like this, its only a matter of time for things to change in Milan. Silivio cant get away with anything if less people show up to games, less people buy merchandise, etc. He might be stubborn but not stupid. He wants to make money and the fans make him that money.

So what if we ended up 4th this year. With Carlo and Kaka and Maldini we ended up 5th. It wont be easy at time ( bayern 4-1 Milan) but i will never stop supporting this team.

The following would make me very hopeful-
we should sell Dinho, and use the money to buy G. Rossi. that would help our attack greatly. The energy difference would be very noticable, and it would add the attack very much. Dinho doesnt care anymore, and Rossi is hungry for titles. We could sell Dinho to Man City or somebody like that for close to 30 mil, and buy Rossi for 20-25. thats a profit.

we should buy Hernandes, he is the future and would be a great rotational starter for use. He is worth the 10-15 he is being offered for. just get it done already.

We should try to get a decent tall striker on loan for this coming season. it would be free and that would give us Pato, Boriello (he will improve), Inzaghi, Loaned Striker, and Zigoni as our top five strikers. thats not too bad. then next year, the loaned player goes home, Inzaghi can retire, Paloshini returns to take his spot, then we buy Dzeko. That would give us Pato, Dzeko, Paloshini, Boriello, and Zigoni, which is a huge amount of talent. That would be one of the best groups of strikers in Europe imo.

We should invest in a young keeper such as Federico Marchetti, Andrea Consigli, or Vincenzo Fiorillo to be our number one choice in the next few years. They are hugely talented and would be good for a long time

I remember reading a while back that Roma like Janku. Why not offer them him plus like 12 mil for Marco Motta? he is the best young wing back in italy, and he will be a star for years.

I'm optimistic about Milan for the future, but that doesn't mean I think we will win, or be close to winning a trophy this season. Well, maybe we will win Coppa Italia.

But I'm thinking long term, and I believe the attempt to fix our economy (and keep it within reason), and to focus on young players will be the smartest way to go. If that means we will have some years with little or no success then so be it.

We have either drew or lost all of our pre-season friendlies...

Some say when u win, it becomes a habit... i think the same for when u lose...

The moment we sign, Fabiano or Huntelaar, fans here would start talking about trophy priority for next season

Dear I would love to have Kaka as the captain of AC Milan (with longer hair ofcourse ), but the reality is that he isn't a red&black any more because of one reason or another. Now whats the point of saying taht I am depressed all the time that the best player has left? Lets hope for the best and it will come. We are 1 or 2 players away from being a very very good team

And by the way, apart from me (becasue I am the best pundit of MM), how many of the members here were confident that AC Milan would win the UCL with Ricardo Olivera, Gila and Pippo as the strike force in 2007? but We won at the end

I always been a optimistic more than a pessimistic person, but at this point the "realistic" part of me is strongest. The realist in me gives a pessimistic outlook. Of course I am not dramatic like some and claim we will be relegated or anything, no I expect us to reach third place and not challenge for the scudetto at all if Galliani suddenly don't sign some real quality players. At least a fullback and a forward.

We have lost our best players, our biggest legend ever and our best young player. Apart from Silva we haven't really done anything to replace the void they left.

the positive thing is that we have a new manager and that he may shake up the squad and come with new ideas.

(2) He was becoming very injury prone.

I can't believe anyone thinks that selling our best player, our most commited player and the most loved player by the fans. I can only come up with one positive.
1. We made money and his wages was high. (and also paid his brother...)

Here I answer your points.

(1) How is that even a point? Of course he can't be like a homegrown player that is a living legend. Is that really a reason for us to think this transfer was good? Just listen to him in Real Madrid, he still only talks about how he liked Milan and wanted to stay.

(2) He had some niggling injuries. He is on the other hand healthy now and was Brazils best player in the confederations club cup. He looked as fast as ever.

(3) Leonardo have hardly used this 4-3-3 formation this far. In fact he have used Ronaldinho in Kaka's favorite position behind two strikers the most. Kaka always played better there than as a second forward.

(4) I call this non-sense. Pirlo always run a lot. Flamini and Gattuso are the only two players running more than him and working more than him and that is not even his duty. Pirlo benefit from mobile players as his game was around distributing the ball to them. Seedorf also is not lazy, his stamina just don't keep up and he have these bad days.

(5) I suppose this is a joke. Of all Milan players none was more loved than Kaka by the fans and the curva. He was the player none jeered and we had the best fan song for. A song that was heard often and even made it into FIFA games. I yelled my lungs off singing it.

Here is my reasons why this was a bad move.

1. He is a marketing icon that bring fans to the club and create attention for the team.

2. He was very loyal and commited.

3. He was a model professional. (and to think we "replaced" him with the unprofessional party boy )

4. The fans loved him and always supported him.

5. We won't see the money we got for him reinvested in the club.

6. He was the player that brought guaranteed success in UCL.

We still have our best young player Kris - Pato.
