I like the formation,Leo hasnt much choice. He can also change the formation but that isnt a option for him.

Pirlo is the only one who can really have an impact on the game in Seedorfs place,Becks cant play there he is more a winger.Pirlo can produce miracle,he did it with Italy so i hope he does it tonight.

I am glad Rino is back,he is really fired up,i almost forgot how he looked in a Milanshirt. It was a while that i saw him play.Ambro-Rhino is a wall in midfield, that should be enough cover.

Ronaldinho has to step it up again, and i like Beckham with Abate on the right flank.

Borrie has to head those crosses from Becks in goal, then we win.

Juve just won 2:1 away at Parma, second was own-goal by Castellini. Caceres and Melo received red and yellow respectively and they are banned for the game against us. Trezeguet was substituted early on because of injury, he was stretched off and I believe he won't play against us either. Amauri came on for him and he was practically a ghost.

Cagliari came back from 0:2 against Roma in the last 5 minutes, AGAIN! That Massimiliano Allegri is something! Fiorentina demolished Siena with 5:1, Gila scored twice.

AC Milan vs Genoa

Seria A Day 18
Wednesday January 6, 2010 19:45 GMT
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Match Preview

Quote:
The Rossoneri would be hoping to resume winning as a New Year dawns upon them.....

New Year, New Hopes And Old Fears

Milan hadn't lost to any side since September and had reached as high as second in the Serie A table. But a 2-0 defeat to Palermo and that too at home clipped the Rossoneri's wings and doubts have risen whether Milan's season could now be deflated or not.

Leonardo's side remained second in the standings at the end of 2009 with 31 points despite not playing against Fiorentina on Week 17 as that game was postponed because of bad weather. They qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League and the players have been doing quite well so far.

Whether or not Milan can maintain their good form in 2010 remains to be seen. Il Diavolo have collected 16 points from a possible 24 at home but they have also shipped 10 goals. David Beckham will resume playing for Milan after moving on loan from LA Galaxy for the rest of the season and coach Leonardo will face a tricky decision whether to play Beckham or not from the start and also in which position if indeed the England international midfielder starts on Wednesday.

Near And Thereabout

Genoa are in a shout for a Europa League spot and although their season has been replete with inconsistent results, the Grifone are just four points behind fourth place Roma with 24 points from 16 games. Genoa's home fixture against Bari on Week 17 was postponed because of bad weather or else Gian Piero Gasperini's side could have been higher than 11th in the table.

But Genoa are on a poor run of form at the moment. The Grifone have not won a match in any competition since their 3-0 defeat of Sampdoria at home on November 28. Moreover, they haven't been particularly good on their travels as they have lost five out of their eight away matches.

A win in Milan isn't exactly out of reach as Palermo won against the Rossoneri at the Giuseppe Meazza with conviction not so long ago but a point would be more realistic for a side aiming to play in Europe next season.

With Pato out I would rather see Huntelaar start than Borriello. Huntelaar is pretty much a classical 9 while Borriello is probably more of a Target Man in my opinion, with Pato instead of Beckham we lose power in the box, and perhaps Huntelaar can make up for that.

I'd also like to see Antonini start instead of Abate, I think he's mostly performed very well for us. Plus it puts Zambrotta at the RB position which is probably better for him.

Uhh Ambro + Gattuso? I am sick with this. Flamini has been training for 4 months and been benched regularly and now Gattuso (who is not a better player than Flamini) just threatens Milan that he's going to quit if he's not played and he is just inserted into the lineup ahead of Flamini? bullsh*t I tell you.

On top of that, we have less pace with Beckham instead of Pato. We definitely aren't going to be creating alot of chances infront of goal so let's hope to be as clinical as possible. Is Pato on the bench?

Pato is injured as far as I know, so don't think he's on the bench. I agree that Flamini should probably have started today, he offers more than Rino going forward in my opinion, which is what we'll need really.

One-sided until now at least, and hopefully we can score soon.
