we could in all honesty say that we were unlucky with that call.

But we cannot say that Barcelona did not deserve to go through...that should be solace.

Frankly this defeat is a lot easier to swallow than our Deportivo and Liverpool debacles

I agree 100% with Hasan and anyone else who agrees with him. The ref made some controversial calls but he did not lose the game for us. WE LOST IT FOR OURSELVES.

And I completely agree with Hasan again when he says that this is not as hard on us as Liverpool, because at Istanbul we deserved to win and here we did not.

now for the Scudetto.

Congrats Barca! Hope you stuff Arsenal
Couldn't have said it better. I think we scored a legitimate goal tonight but overall we simply were not good enough. I guess we missed the train in Milano after failing to score all those clear cut chances we had. Tonight the team, apart from 5-10min out of 90, failed to click into gear and apart from that Sheva goal unfairly called off by Merk, we had almost no clear chances on goal - maybe a couple of half-chances but nothing like those 2 opprtunities missed by Eto'o or the one for Larsson, for instance.
All in all, over the two legs, I think we simply did not do enough to say that we deserve to go to the final as barca was the more composed team, except for the 1st half of the game in Milan. And as I said yesterday, if you can't score at least one goal over two games, you have no place in the final.
Good luck to Barca vs Arsenal and good luck to Arsenal vs Barca. i like both of these teams so whoever wins will deservely be the new European Champ.
As for us, we need to think about certain things, fix some neuralgic places in the squad and will be back at this next year. One things for certain, some chnages are necessary or rather some new faces in addition to the old ones, as in modern football you need a very broad squad to compete for both CL and Serie A - tonight, for instance, it was obvious that we lacked freshness throughout the game.
Forza Milaaaaaaaaaan !!!!!!!!
P.S. yeah, it was an awful call by a poor Merk but I do believe that the better team over the two encounters, not the better team in general, went through to final.

Yeah, this one's a bit easier to take but we can now see what we need in terms of players. I think Arjun Robben from Chelsea is a good start.

I agree that we should score, but that goal could turn the tide of the match.

We have a very competitive side but perhaps you are right we do need some changes

In defence we can bring in some young players hopefully. Although, ironically it was not our defence that knocked us out but our vaunted attack!

Details decide fates at this level. A few adjustments here and there and we will be back next season.

You have been to that www.forza-inter.com forum and you know what I mean - loser's mentality comes in all shapes and colors over there.
Wishing bad luck to barca just because we weren't good enough tonight is nothing different than what the Inter fans did after we lost to Liverpool, when Inetr was already long gone from the CL.

Sorry for not reading all the posts subsequent to my last post, but I was too busy watching the match to make any posts..

Well, such is life I guess...though its quite unfortunate that the ref had such an impact on the outcome, for surely, there was no push on Pulyol.

We scored, but the ref denied us the equaliser. We should have created more, but again, we just were not fit enough to play a team with 8 days rest, and win easily.

All credit to a solid Barca that looked composed in most cases, and I hope they win the final.

FORZA MIIIIIIIILAN for life...!

wud u say that we did not deserve it , if the goal wud have had been allowed? Ok it was just 1 mistake by the ref, but still it was a big mistake! ok creativity didn't exist but we passed and played well, got the ball in front and did pressrurize them and had good possesion! did u see how they pretending especially ronny the so called "world player of the year" and edmilson.... we played in the right spirit they played defensively along with time wasting tactics

I cannot say that barca deserved or milan deserved. both of them played equally well! and abt luck yeah we didn't have it today! we won't go back home in disappointment.

I think the final is going to be boring .Arsenal will play with 1 striker and 10 defenders like the did yesterday.I ain't watching that.So for me adios CL ,

until next year.

Guys cheer up.

Some positives from the Milan defeat

1) We did not lose in dramatic circumstances
2) If you all support an international team and some Milan players represent your nation, then they will be fresher for the World Cup without the travails of a final
3) We can always say Barca deserved it and take comfort
4) We are Milan and we have competed 3 semis in 4 years. Our pedigree will doubtless tell next year as well
5) There is still the Scudetto
6) This may finally force the management to bring in some young purchases in defence
7) Lastly, our heroes- Sheva, Pirlo, Gila, Nesta, Kaka etc. will be in action this summer as well.

Right, now if you will excuse me I am going to go throw up

Congratulations to Barca on a good win. In the end, they probably didn't deserve to lose today, as Rijkaard did well.

Unfortunately for us, the ref in the first leg was extremely poor, but until I see the match properly, I won't blame Merk, though his decision about Sheva's goal really may have cost us the match.

As for the side, I won't really criticise them, as they put in a good effort, creating chances in both legs. Tonight, had Pippo managed to reach some of the crosses put in, or Sheva and Kaka taken a couple of their chances, we may have had a different tone in here, but unfortunately, they couldn't put away the chances, so we really only can blame ourselves for being wasteful. But thats football for you, we have argubly been the most clinical side in the world this season, but 2 matches where we weren't have resulted in going out of CL.

Now we move on past this loss and look to get 3 victories to the end of the season. Lo Scudetto is still a realistic possibility, so lets not let this season end yet

One thing is for sure. In these 2 legs, we were better than Barca overall. I think we can leave CL with our heads held high.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FORZA MILAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
