How about Marquez? He defends pretty well and is an intelligent player. He plays as a CB (which actually, we don't need) but we can make him play as a defensive midfielder. Check out this news:

Barcelona's Marquez snubs Chelsea: AC Milan interests me
tribalfootball.com - May 24, 2006

Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez has made a 'come and get me' plea to AC Milan.

Chelsea and Milan are chasing the Mexico international, who is frustrated by Barca's stalling over new contract talks.

"England does not interest me," said Marquez. "Italy, yes, mainly when a team like Milan is calling.

"I want to continue being successful. I won't stay at a club to sit on the bench. I do not want to be individualistic, I want to put the name of my country in lights."

-----------------------------------------------

I checked other sites also but no where else, such news has appeared.

You are right, dear Capo!

That is a fantastic deal, a veritable move on the right direction, and a very good omen for the coming season.

Marquez is the mexican international, right? He's really a solid option.

was just thinkin, alot of transfers depend on A if sheva is leaving, and B if juve are going to be Relegated.... its just one big loop...

If sheva goes we could use the money to buy another forward and get Buffon, Dida would prob want to leave, so we could use him as trade to get get Tevez....

According to acmilan.com, Carlo would like to sign a defensive midfielder, in the mould of an Emerson, Edmilson or Gilberto Silva (another Brazilian obessesive!). Pirlo needs more space in order to play his natural game and Ancelotti only regards Ambrosini as a strong midfielder capable of complying with this requirement. Does this mean that Gattusso is heading for the exit door?

GNL, yes.. i also believe that players like Cafu and Costacurta are past their prime..but still they are extremely useful squad players to us.. and honestly, i have always thought that our starting 11 was perfect..and no there is no place for ronaldinho, because that would mean we would sacrifice the balance in our team.. atm, the balance of this milan side is amazing, and they have performed wonderfully in the last few years..

the only ways I can see us improving really is getting Diarra for Rino, n hope that Gila finally shows his worth.. true that he had 17 goals this season, but honestly, he hasnt impressed me in most of the games he played.. pippo is way better than him and that can be proven by the goal/minute ratio for this season.. I also dont like Kaladze playing in the centre, and prefer any of Gallas/Alex/Chivu (maybe lugano too)..

you see, now that Rui Costa has left, now Milan will look for a cheap alternative to replace, and it seems like we will be getting this young wonderkid Gorcouff(sp).. it could end up being a disastrous move, or a great move.. he could be the next zidane and we got him for just a few million, or he could be the inexperienced kid that had to step in for Kaka cuz he's injured, and cost us another CL trophy..

but yeah, all of us here would love milan to have tevez, dinho, messi etc. but its very unrealistic.. right now, i believe that Milan will unfortunately replace Sheva with RvN..this is a bad move..i believe the only person now that may be available, and is good enough to replace him, is none other than Antonio Cassano. Honestly speaking, I wouldnt mind Tavano either.

Salaam, brother. The above is a very rational assesment, congratulations. I agree with the idea of replacing Shevchenko with Cassanova. Not Tavano though. Tavano lacks that explosive element which culminates in a ludicrous piece of skill, an impossible assist or a vital last-minute goal. This is what Shevchenko does, and what Cassano is also capable of. Cassano is the Italian Ibrahimovich, albeit shorter and rounder. Milan's a superb environment for Cassano to flourish. It completely makes sense for Milan to approach Real in the event of Sheva's departure. He's frugal, but he is an Inter maniac.

With regard to Kaladze, his partnership with Nesta will continue, regardless of Gallas's arrival. The reason is that Kaladze can communicate with Nesta, because he speaks Italian. Any foreign player who has no previous experience of Serie A needs time to settle in and adapt to the football culture of Italy. Therefore, with Kaldze-Nesta Milan have refound stability. I welcome this.

I will finally add that Gourcuff is an unneeded luxury, as Pasquale Foggia is the best substitute for Kaka.

If Sheva does go i'd like to add Miroslav Klose to the list he is one of best forwards in the game and would be very cheap.

Cassano on his good day is a great player, a great potential.

Anyways, Cassano...he came to my mind too...I donno...of the three (Ronaldo, Toni, Treze) I think Ronaldo would suit the style of play the most, Toni wold score the most, and Treze shouldn't be signed...I kinda think he's a finished player...somewhat.

If we are goint to rely on training Ronaldo then we can rely on training Cassano for more consistency (a good time in Roma had he). What's up with him? Wasn't he supposed to come and then we signed Gila? Now, the two...well...

Anyways, doesn't anyone remember how great it was to have Cafu at RB? The runs, the skill, the crosses....I don't think Gallas can do that....we need to put a right BACK there, not a right DEFENDER. I always hoped that playing Stam @RB was only temporary due to Cafus injury and that when Cafu heals we would go back to the original style. Now...Serginho was great, so...play them both Carlo
