Official: Yoann Gourcuff PERMANENT TRANSFER to Bordeaux

He's shining in Ligue 1, CL AND for the national team. You don't even have to think too hard to figure out he was screwed over. Nice work again Yoann.

What Gourcuff must do is to continue his good work. What he has done till now (only in couple of months) IS NOT YET enough to get a spot in Carlo's tactic. Gourcuff must prove that he can play well CONSISTENTLY. Carlo won't play regularly a player who is not yet mature except a wonder kid ala Pato or Kaka.

The goal he scored last night showed him as the most advanced player, normally where the striker should be. To see him making those kind of runs from midfield and getting beyond the forwards is a good thing.

This is assuming he was played in midfield and not up front to begin with

Meh. When our own players can play well consistently then I'll listen to that argument. Till then it's bs. In my humble opinion of course

(Most of) Our players already play consistently, OF COURSE not every single match. Compare to Gourcuff when he was in Milan, he played badly CONSISTENTLY but of course not in all matches (in one or two matches he did well).

The question is (when Milan get him back) : Where will Gourcuff play?

With Milan's defence right now especially in the left side (Kaladze and Jankulovski), there won't be a big chance for Gourcuff to play in the old-position of Seedorf (left central-midfield). The most possible position is behind striker(s) which is very difficult for him to get many chances there as we have Kaka, R80 and Seedorf except he can play superbly in most of the games in France (and Champions League) this season. When this happen, then he will have chance to fight a spot behind the striker(s).

My idea is that he should be loaned out for (at least) two years to make him a mature player.

That's not just a bit of an exaggeration...that's a HUGE exaggeration. I'm not even going to continue this discussion though because it's pointless and will result in the same thing as it does all the time. About the consistency thing, Carlo himself says that our current crop of players do not play consistently well (he mentions it in almost every other interview). It's what has prevented us from getting results in the league for so long, so I have no idea how you can say our players are consistent. Unless of course you mean consistently average

I never read that Carlo said like you said (almost in every interview?). So, I think we see different teams, different players as I don't see our main players (especially midfielders who will be Gourcuff's 'opponent' for a spot) play inconsistently (one game play well, next game play horrible).

Why is everyone talking about Ancelotti failing Gourcuff. At the start of this season most posters here constantly gave Gourcuff as an example of a failed talent. Now all of a sudden, he is a genious and Ancelotti is evil. The truth is everyone is to blaime - Ancelotti for failing him, Gourcuff for not having the guts, Milan for loaning him away too late and fans for either believing the hype or dismissing it completely.
The boy needs time to grow away from Milan so he can come back and really play for Milan.

I read some where on a web that ACM wants either Fabregas of Arsenal or Jao Moutino of Sporting Lisbon to replace Pirlo in the 1st team in near future.
Well Febragas replacing Pirlo?? What a joke, That is pathetic. Jao Moutino is OK & he showed that he can be an ACM type player in Euro 2008. But the best and the most easy option is to make Gourcoff the next Pirlo. How about that?

Gourcuff can be Gourcuff. We dont need anyone to replace Pirlo when he does eventually retire. France tried to turn Micoud, Ribery and Nasri into a Zidane. They all failed.

How many players have tried to play in the Pirlo role who are no where near as good. It wont happen, just as Pirlo playing as a deep lying midfielder happened by acciddent.

That was by no means an accident,firstly mazzone played him while in Bresscia in that position and than Carlo used him there, and the man is simply born for that position. And it wasnt just a sudden decision, Carlo was talking all summer long about after Pirlo played great at the end of the season.
So carlo had to make a team consisted of PIrlo,Seedorf and Rui, Lucky for us it worked perfectly.
