Berlu had a talk with the team with baldy for an hour after the game. He also set up a new ultimate rewards ratio program which would serve as an incentive for playing well.

I don't understand what he's trying to do, unfortunately the majority of the players in the starting 11 just don't have it anymore. Zambrotta, Jankulovski, Pirlo, Dinho all need replacements. And what is Berlusconi doing? NOTHING but telling the players to get in touch with their passion for the game..........BUT THEY CAN'T BECAUSE THEY ARE PAST IT. Berlusconi can't understand this and the team is going to be suffering big time. |

Now, I understand that the team played like utter crap today.
Dinho, Janku, Gattuso, Borriello, and if we're honest, Pirlo, all played poorly today. However, I don't think that Zambro really fits into anywhere NEAR the same category of issues that Janku has. Zambro might not be able to simply run all over the right hand side, I mean, in his prime, Zambro made Maicon look pedestrian. I think it's unfair to say Zambro is a big issue. Today, for all of Inter's dominance, it literally came all through our left hand side. The 1st goal, left-side mixup. 2nd goal, left side left exposed. Third goal, free roaming Maicon allowed to march up our left (their right). The fourth goal was just a great strike, and Milan were simply down and out at that point. But, it was fired from the center, not the right. I don't think Zambrotta will be able to offer the same attacking verve, but I think that's mostly because Gattuso doesn't overlap as well as he used to. Gattuso used to stick rather stringently to his right side, he seems to be more all-over-the-place. Maybe it's because Gattuso doesn't have the physicality to do that anymore and we're just noticing it now? I just know that when Abate came onto that right hand side, Zambro and Abate did some great thing. I'd just like to say, I honestly can't wait for Beckham to return to us in January. He will be able to take that passing role we so desperately need in our center. Leonardo was honest, in order to support an attacking trio, you must have a tremendously hard working unit. Our Milan of 02-03 was that sort of team. Seedorf, Pirlo, and Gattuso were an amazing group and had the workrate to support Sheva, Inzaghi, and Rui Costa. I'm just not sure if saying, oh Ronaldinho didn't do anything (which is true) but that's not so much due to his inconsistency but rather systemic of the entire team playing like utter ****. I'm going to wait, like others have said, a few more games, perhaps even until January to declare whether my faith in Dinho was misplaced. I disagree with the notion that deep down inside we know Abate is not good enough. I think the only reason anyone doesn't want to admit he's good enough is because we didn't spend money on him. Abate showed throughout pre-season that he was able to perform. His cross against Juventus was class, as was his play. I'm sorry, I vehemently disagree with the idea that Abate is not Milan quality, I think he is, and frankly, even if he isn't, he'd be an upgrade to what we're putting out right now. |

It wasn't a very good day for me on the whole and i was eagerly waiting to watch the Derby and hoping that Milan would win and that it would make my day.
Well, now i dont even have words to describe that loss. It wasnt just a mere loss, it felt like someone hitting you with a big metal rod and then you go all numb and cold, eventually dropping dead, thats the exact same feeling i got when i saw Inter manhandling Milan. Seriously, i really dont know whom to blame this on. Players, coaching staff, managment??? Come to think of it everyone single one involved in this Milan system has a part in this loss. Regarding our players, if after yesterday s perfomance and based on the performance in the last season to hope that R80 is going to lead this team to glory, is just foolishness. At the start of the season i had a feeling that he would change and that his game would improve. But yesterday he just proved it, he cannot handle it, he was running around like a chicken waiting for someone to pass the ball to him and even when he got the ball, he would lose possession cheaply. Lucio was just too good for him. All i could see him do was just whine all the time to the refree about being fouled. Gattuso, the man plays with his heart and thats fine but he lacks that spark in the midfield and i always felt Seedorf should start over Gattuso so that we could have a link with our forwards. Gattuso should have been substituted earlier. And the incident where Seedorf was just getting dressed when Gattuso was walking off the pitch should have never happened. For a club like Milan, thats a very unprofessional thing.Pirlo was okay but not very impressive and neither was Flamini. Our full backs were sad. Both Zambro and Janku were disappointing. Zambro was slow and couldnt handle the pace of the Inter players. The left flank was always left open by Janku and Maikon hardly had truoble pacing himself into our box. Pato and Huntlaar did what they could do. Nesta and Silva are the only two who brought a smile to my face when i was watching the game. Leonardo, has a long way to go and has a lot more to learn. We need to give him more time and space. The expression on Leo s face just showed the lack of experience and he lacked the confidence that Mourinho has. He looked all confused Overall,we were just left clueless against a flamboyant Inter side. We lacked the pace, the skill, the creativity and basically everything. Inter had a plan and were systematic unlike us. We didnt have that Milan spirit in us, u know the fighting Milan which would never give up. But what i saw yesterday were a bunch of tired and wiery Milan players who felt like they were sinking in the sea just waiting for the refree s whistle in the 90 th minute. It was a night that none of us would want to remember and just hope and wait for that day when we would do the same to Inter. As of now all we can do is hope and just keep hoping that Berlu atleast now has learnt a lesson and that we need to make changes in this system.

Dinho's performance was summed up by Leo perfectly. In order for him to function properly in the 4312 formation, he (trequatista) needs to have solid back up from the midfield. Our midfield today consisted of a sent off captain, an absent minded creative DM and two players who have not played regularly in the the last month. Not exactly the kind of midfield Dinho needs.
I agree with the posts above. We need some kind of realistic leadership that can counter the BS of Berlu and Galliani. We need someone who can stick it to the man and rally our troops on the field. |

I guess the only thing good Milan came out with was that Seedorf proved to still function when needed, and Pato, man that kid can run. Lucio had some problems even after the fourth goal. I guess anyone who criticises him or Huntelaar would be asking too much of them because there was no Milanese midfield. Gennaro was simply insane today, especially with the Sneijder tackle which not called for since he already was booked.
Leo made two changes in the second half and reasonable as well, which shows he made at least 2 good decisions when in crunch time which will only add to his experience. The rest of the match, well the players failed him miserably. Hard luck guys. I just hope Berlu and Galliani hear you the fans now.

this team simply lacks quality!!
same old midfield from 5 years ago, players who have won it all and are past their prime! Big names, but not big players anymore. the management needs to move on and start a new cycle. + you dont sell kaka and not replace him, its suicide! He shouldve been replaced by a fabregas type of player, letting pirlo go to england. bringing in hernanes, and here we go again, gourcuff shouldve been back! we also still need at least 1 fullback and at this moment it doesnt look that important, but also a CB! you will see this when one of thiago or nesta will be out! |
