Beckham can play in the Pirlo role or next to Kaka behind a single striker ... or soemtimes even in Gattuso's role to provide more attacking quality vs certain teams now that we have Oddo at RB, who is pretty sollid in defense.
of course we could always use him as a Right wing if necessary.

there are plenty of roles he could be useful ... and that's in the short run of ocurse as he is a no long-term investment ... plus, it's not like he is gonna be an automatiuc starter.

Plus he would be available for free, so it's not like we would be putting much money into him.
Most imporantly, however, he is big game player and could be useful with his experience and ball-distibution in CL games.

Like him or not the guy has his qualities and the makeover his presence gave to Real M and England NT is testamant for that ... such players can always be useful even if at first it seems he won't fit to Milan's system, and that's exactly what Carlo's approach to quality players is, and he said it in gazzetta - "bring them in and after that I will worry about where to play them"

of course getting a younger player would probably be better for the team, with future in mind, but I won't lose sleep if Milan decides to bring in a 30+ yo Beckham or Emerson.

Today Carlo said that the club will go for a midfielder and attacker.

Our midfielder looks like Emerson, but what of the striker? Carlo said it's hard to get forwards because they play in great teams.

Does anyone else get the feeling that our market won't be as busy was we all are hoping for? I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but what does everyone think?

Yeah i agree all these rumors keep flying round but really i think it will be a bit like last year not much happening really we might get R10,Emerson and a striker and thats it really unless we can add a defender along the way hopefully Daniel Alves. we just need to strengthen not rebuild the team imo

I remember Berlusconi saying that we would make a big splash during the summer market, but I wonder if he changed his opinion after we won the UCL.

Defender and Daniel Alves sound like black and white.

I think it's gonna be either Dinho or a striker (one of Sheva, Eto'o, Henry methinks) but not both ... I really don't see Carlo playing Dinho in midfield or even attacking midfield but as a support striker between Kaka and Ronaldo/Gila.

it would all depend on whether players like Simic, Favalli (expect him to stay), Brocchi stay or leave ... their contracts, Brocchi's more precisely, were extended but still that doesn't mean they will not be send on loan or as part of deal for another player.

If Donati is indeed coming back and Emerson to be added, then I would expect to see Brocchi leave as that would be way too many Central mids to have.

Other than that I expect a strong LB (Zambrotta, Abidal, etc), a physical CM (Emerson, De Rossi, Diarra etc), and either Dinho or a striker (Sheva, Eto'o, Henry, etc) to be top priorities and poitions Milan to go for.

Hope we would, eventually, get a mid like Ze Roberto/Ribery and a strong CD too as Maldini's and kaladze's situations in terms of being injury prone doesn't look too pink at the moment.

would love to see Milan steal Chivu (can play both LB and CD for us) under Inter's nose though

AC Milan have made a £7 million bid for Gremio midfielder Carlos Eduardo.
The agent of the Brazil U20 star, Jorge Machado, revealed the Rossoneri's offer and also the rival interest of Barcelona.

Gremio president Paulo Odone insists they won't consider selling Carlos Eduardo, who will be watched by Milan and Barcelona at the U20 World Championships in Canada this summer.

Im not sure about comparing to Viera-Maka that has to be one of the best DM I have seen.

On another note there has been talk about Henry, if he was to leave and ended up in Barca I can honestly say they are going to be one of the strongest in Europe who could give Milan a run for their money.

Imagine Messi, Deco, R10. Eto and Henry in one team. There is alot of talk about Henry leaving Arsenal he might he might not but Barca have said it clear that Eto will not leave them. So Berlu if you can read this please prize Henry away from Arsenal before Barca do it, I cannot stand them.

Sissoko is wanted because he runs and tackles all day long. The only reason he isnt wanted at Liverpool is because they have Alonso, Mascherano and Gerrard. Believe me, this guy given the chance at Milan could be awesome. There is the question of where he would fit in. But he would be cheaper than Ronaldhinio and would fit in alot easier than him too. Everyone knows Ambro is injury prone and the formation including him with Pirlo and Rino has won us the CL. Sissoko could just slot right in.

As for Beckham, for the love of God dont ruin this football club. Please!! How long has he been at Real and he finally starts playing well in a handful of games. That by no means makes him good enough. Especially, when you consider that he started playing well after he signed for the yanks. At this point he had nothing to lose. What has it been, 3 years at Real and he starts playing well towards the end of his farewell. No thankyou.

what Carlo said is in a much dif tone as to the title of that Channel 4 article.

I just read Carlo's words on acmilan.com (italian version, english should be soon updated) and the general tone of his words regarding Gila is not an all-out "Gila can Go" but rather surprise (bitter surprise and even disappointment, a bit like the case with kaladze) from Gila's latest statements where he failed to commit to Milan and created an impression that he doesn't have the support/trust of the team and coach.

Carlo goes on to say that at Milan there are many quality players and it is to be expected that many will not be able to start in a game like the CL final ... and he gives Pippo as an example for how hard work and being constantly at the dispodal of the team can do wonders for a player.

regarding Gila's words of there being a possibility that he is sold, Carlo does say that it's not certain that "Gila's wish to leave might NOT be granted by the club" but he also says that, as Galliani made it clear after the Sheva-saga, that "there is also the possibility that a player may be kept at Milan even if it is against his wish".

Milan Hold Henry Interest

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted Milan hold an interest in Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Henry is once again being linked with a move away from Arsenal, with Barcelona reportedly hot on the Frenchman's trail.

The Gunners have stated their intention to retain the services of their talisman, but his future continues to be speculated upon and Ancelotti has added fuel to the fire by admitting he could be interested in signing the former Monaco man.

"Our will is to sign a midfielder and a forward," Ancelotti told the Italian press. "You know of the names that are circulating.

"There are lots of big-name strikers, but there is nothing concrete as these players are playing for big teams.

"Henry is a great player and he could be of interest to us."

Real Madrid midfielder Emerson would appear to be Ancelotti's favoured choice to bolster his engine room.

He added: "Emerson? I don't want to talk about names, but the club have the idea who I want to sign.

"And if you ask me if Emerson has the characteristics of the player I want, I would answer by saying the player we are looking for has Emerson's characteristics."
