In 2 weeks, he will do the "reeducation" ...
In 30 days, he will be allowed to start running, swimming, etc to be at full fitness. That should take 2 more weeks ... and only then, he will start training with a ball, which probably means 2 other weeks before being back.

If you count, that is 2 months out, the championship will be over !!

I know...I was wondering/wishing maybe will use him (maybe not fully fit) in the last games of the season when we actually have palermo, genoa, juve. After that he can have all the rest he wants

I can bet Milan will search for a CB that can play as a FB: Bonucci, David Luiz, Gallas... such players, plus 1 FB. Bale and Bonucci and Im 100% satisfied.

Then Krasic and Dzeko and we are ok. We stil WILL NOT be on top level but we are much, much stronger then today.

Crazy transfer budgets aside, I don't think that we will reinforce ourselves so much during the summer mercato that we will become the best team in Europe. Nor Italy either, at least not on paper.
What we can expect, hopefully, is a team that can compete for the Serie A (shouldn't be that hard, look at us now) and that can get reasonably far in the CL, or if we meet top tier teams at least we wont get humiliated.
If we buy some promising youngsters this summer then maybe the next year (2011/12 season) they will mature some more and with further signings we can have a chance at continental domination.
I fear though, that if we do win the league, our management will say we are a competitive team etc etc.

I wonder, if Leo stays, will he aim to build a stronger team around our current 4-3-3 formation? Or does he have something else in mind, ie with other players he could modify our formation? Will be interesting to see.

I hear now that Beckham's achilles tendon was comletely ruptured, just like mine was. The norwegian national team doctor says that normally he can be back traning football in about 5 to 12 months depending on the operation, physique and training. I'm sure Beckham will have the best follow-up possible.

As an example Everton's Yakubu Aiyegbeni missed almost a year when he ruptured his achilles tendon back in 2008.

It really depends on the people I think ...

In my current table tennis club, a 80+yo man ruptured his achille's tendon4 years ago I think. He needed 6 months to come back to sport (which is quite incredible for his age) ...
5 or 6 years ago, a former team partner, who was 41yo at this time, also ruptured his achille's tendon ... Nowadays, he has still some problems to move normally in sports.

Both play the same sport, the first one has a perfect hygien of life and did serious sports all his life (he's several times World Champion/European Champion of his category of age) while the other ... I won't say anything.

Beckham is very serious, professionnal, so there shouldn't be any problem with that, but it will also depend on the way he sees his future: coming back for football or not ? High level or not ? Depending on his motivation(s), it could be longer than expected, or the contrary ...

Anyway, let's hope for the Spice Boy that he can come back sooner than later (but not in Milan) !!

Bale is not at the level of Antonini yet. People tend to judge FB by how good their attack is instead of their overall game. NO doubt Bale can go forward but his defense is pretty crap, no positioning, quite easy to beat....
Personally I really don't think there are a lot of total package FB out there with the exception of Maicon, D. Alves, Cissohko(gosh I miss him in Milan), and S. Ramos.
Then there are a whole bunch that are either solid both ways or quite good one way and bad in the other like Micah Richards may not be great going forward but he is a beast in defense, esp one on one; or A. Cole who is solid both ways but not spectacular; or Antonini who is also solid both ways.

Point is that, with all the FB names that are popping up here, Bale, Rafinha and others, with the exception of those French Ligue FB(since I have not watch them enough), they are not that much of an upgrade from Antonini, Abate, and Zambro. Rafinha is just another version of Contra while Bale although young is a 10yrs younger version of Janku. Pls don't tell me Bale can learn how to defend from NEsta....as Kala and Senderous are the human prove that you cannot learn defense from the master if you don't have it to begin with.

Milan face battle for Astori

Milan will face a battle to bring young defender Davide Astori back from Cagliari, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 23-year-old has matured this season and Milan would like him back this summer to replace the veteran Giuseppe Favalli whose contract will not be renewed.

However, Milan sold 50 per cent of his rights to Cagliari for €1.5m at the end of last season and the Sardinian outfit do not intend to let him go without a fight.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has recognised how much Cagliari value Astori and has offered double that figure to obtain full ownership of the player's contract.

However, Cagliari President Massimo Cellino has reportedly turned the bid down.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cellino said: “I want to keep Astori and I am willing to put €5m on the plate to sign him outright.”

His comments haven't led to a deterioration in the relationship between Cagliari and Milan. The two clubs have an excellent relationship after doing business for Alessandro Matri.

Milan are now expected to raise their offer before the end of the season.

Will we pay more than 5 million for him ?. This makes me always wonder why we sell half of a player instead of letting him on loan and seeing how he progresses . But if both clubs own 50% of him shouldn't it be up to him where he wants to go if he chooses Milan we give Cagliari back the 1.5 million....in a perfect world but I know im missing the legalities of it.

There are two reasons why we did the co ownership thing:

1. This way, the team that gets the player has more incentive to play him. Since the player playing well would mean that they can get more money from selling their half of the ownership, a team will more likely to spend the time and resources on developing a player. A lot of the players we used to loan to other teams failed because they were not given the time and attention by their team to develop.

2. We needed some quick cash to balance our books.

This again , I get you bro that makes sense lets hope we don't lose him because even though he isn't WC yet could be but 5 or 6 million is what it will take we'll see hopefully he comes , he is what we talk about young players with potential between 22 - 26.
