@Chelsea vs Inter

Many strikers can make tons of goals but a world class striker decides the end of the game.

Non regular ?
If I'm not wrong, he played most of the games for Cagliari ...

And it's smart because Galliani already said that the come-back of Astori and Paloschi were sure. So Cagliari and Parma, if they want more money, should announce they want to keep the player for X € (more than the value of the player), even if they actually don't care about this player.

The mistake came from Galliani who announced too quickly that we will welcome them back next season for sure ... He just forgot that the other clubs can also make a bid for these players and force us, if we really want them back, to pay more than initially planned/expected.

Even he is regular, no where his price is near 10 mil euros.

Galliani can say anything. He could say that to also raise up Astori price. We can't just believe what Galliani said. We know who Galliani is.

If 5 million is Astori's contract price, I am pretty sure that Galliani will take that and use the 5 million plus some money to buy a better CB.

I think we should pay more than half value of one player to buy the half, because it normally need to pay more than true value of one player to have him.

We paid about 10M plus 50% of Di Gennaro to bring back Borri. Did he worth 20-25M at that time?

We need to spend about 2/3 of real value to get 50% right of a player.

I'm glad if we get 5M from Cagliari. We will free about 5M of Dida & Favalli wage. Plus some money, it is enough to sign a CB twice his quality.

If Gallas fail to sign new contract with Arsenal, why don't we take him?

We now have 4 homegrow players in first team: Abate (Oddo), Antonini, Ambrosini, Borriello and plus the italian: Abbiati, Nesta, Pirlo, Gattuso (?). We do not gravely need Astori to fulfil 6+5 rule, and even this rule will not 100% be implemented.

So IMHO, we have some advantage in this game.

I really hope that we won't get Gallas !!

Anyway, on TMW, they say our management is going to meet with Yepes from Chievo in the next few days (34yo, CD able to play LB, contract ending).

He would be taken to replace Favalli in the team (so an experienced player leaves for another experienced player). His wages shouldn't be too big, and even if we offer him less than what he asks for, he will probably accept because his children are in a French school in Milan, in San Siro actually ...

So, if Yepes is taken to be our 5th choice for CD, it's ok, but if he's taken to be our 3rd choice ... no, I can't imagine this scenario.

And actually, buying the other "half" of the contract doesn't mean paying 50% of the value.

Let's imagine that Astori suddenly becomes WC in the next few games, his value increases at 15M. That would mean that logically, we should at least pay 7.5M to have him, right ? But if Cagliari doesn't want to pay more than 3M for our "half", we can offer 4M for example, and we will get the player.

It's just an example to show that it's not 50-50 in both ways (decreased value or increased value), but in 99.99% of cases, that works like Aficio said, you have to pay more.

And if Cagliari offers 5M and we let him go for these 5M, does that mean that his value is 10M ? No, for Cagliari, add both bids they made for him and you will see that the value of the player is around 6.5M.
If we offer 5M, we got 1.5M last year, so actually, that means that for us, the real value of Astori would be 3.5M ...
- It's a more logical way to count the value of players, I don't think that if we offer 6M, it's because we think the player is valued at 12M ...

Gallas is old (32), not so professional (cried like a baby), may cost us 4,5M/year for 2 year (demanded 80K pounds/week) but he is the best French CB after Desailly, IMO. He has many experience, could play at the wing and thouh he is not tall (1m81), a regular in PL must be good at aerial challenge.

Nesta & Silva, 3rd: Gallas, 4th-6th: Bonera, Astori, Yepes is good, I think.

Nowadays, fullbacks are the hardest positions to find WC players (left harder), then CB.

CF, AM, Winger are easier to assess and to watch .

IMO, we should cast on CF and AM/winger next season, and wingback/CB/GK in the season after. Therefore, Gallas, Astori, Yepes are acceptable.

Honda played great matches against Seville (Krasic was not seen often). Should we take him? Milan is famous in Japan, so he has both he inside and outside the pitch contribution.

Finally another person think highly of Honda.

As for the 50% ownership thing, for starter, it is really how you look at it.
For example: Astori, lets say Milan needs to pay 5 mil for him, but since Milan already got 1.5mil for him last year, he would only cost Milan 3.5mil. But you can also say that Milan would have gotten him for free if they did not loan him out....

I wouldnt mind getting Honda , beside the marketing side, I think he's got the capability to play in seria A just like Nakata..

btw, about Krasic, is he similar to Karel Poborsky? pure winger?

I had mixed feeling about Inter's qualification into top 8. Hopefully they will be too happy and so exhausted to even concentrate on Serie A games, which should make sense - after all, they have "won" it for four years in a row while at the same time, they haven't touched the big ear for almost half a century now. This probably is the best time for us to leapfrog. It might be now or never.

And of course, I like Honda too, very reliable, probably the best lawn mower I have ever had.

I was already thinking highly of Honda when he was at VVV (very small team in holland). Honda is fantastic, I really wouldnt mind having him.

Honda is much better than Toyota these days....

Anyhow, ideally, Inter comes 2nd in CL losing to a French team while Bayern gets knock out in the quarter finals.
Juve wins the 1st ever Europa league while no German team make it to the semi.
Then Milan winning the League. That way, Serie A is still ahead of Germany.

I think Ancelloti is to blame for chelseas poor display against Inter, his tactics are predictable, on the other hand, Mourinho tends to change tactics to counter the opposition. Predictable teams are an easy target for Mourinho. I hate Mourinho but there's not doubting he's a top coach who can make important decisions when they are needed.

I think there are quite a number of fans who think highly of Honda, he's just not often talked about. My biggest concern about getting him is seeing how to best fit him into our squad, as I can't see him fitting into the side tactically.

I WOULD laugh so hard if we fail to get Asotri back... that will really show our lack of power .

Getting Honda is a relatively cheaper option considering the player we will be getting.... Like our own Park Ji Sung.

This is a really old article, but confirms that this is Janko's last season unless Galliani goes down to his knees and begs him to stay and sign a 10 year contract!
