Official: Yoann Gourcuff PERMANENT TRANSFER to Bordeaux

Gourcuff has essentially rubbished the comparisons with Zidane by saying it's complimentary at first but then adds too much pressure on players who are totally different.

Anyway, on a more important note, he's said that he's currently not decided what will happen with him returning to Milan. He see's himself as a Bordeaux player right now, but at the same time he said he hasn't turned the page on Milan, keeps tabs on how we're doing and is willing to return, BUT (here's the key part) not under the same role as before.

Personally, I think he has every right to say this. He's been shining since his return to France and has shown maturity in his performances, which is one of the reasons he struggled in Milan. There should be a chance for him should he return as Seedorf is no spring chicken. He is for me the most natural replacement to Seedorf and the fact that we own him means that if he does come back we won't be spending much.

I envision him fitting into the team like this:

Essentially, on the left with freedom to move forward as Seedorf did before (and does lately).

Do you really want to play Gourcuff there with Kaladze as CB and Jankulovski as left fullback?

When Seedorf played there, we have very strong CDs (Nesta, Maldini and Stam) and good (at defence) left fullback (Kaladze then Pancaro then Maldini/Costacurta) before Serginho played as left fullback at the last year of Seedorf's play in left CM.

ps : not forget to mention that Pirlo is not very good when it comes to defend (even his skill in that area has improved much)

In Milan's team he would play in the same position that Kaka/Dinho are playing now
in miedfield there are already players like Pirlo,Gattuso,Ambro,Flamini + Seedorf

The team I put there isn't one set in stone. I'm guessing we'll make some signings when (if) Gourcuff returns.

Gourcuff played his debut in that role for Milan. He was the star of that night and I don't see why he cannot perform well there. Similar questions were originally raised of Seedorf there and he did superbly.

I also see Gorky as a sub for Seedorf, and since Seedorf isn't considered an midfielder but as a forward, I don't see any problem

Gourkuff can be a sub for Kaka or Dinho
He played for Milan in midfield alongside Pirlo and Ambro/Gattuso and he never played well
Look where he’s playing now for Bordeaux and France NT

Seedorf IS a midfielder and he was invented a forward by Carletto

Your are probably right, but I'm afraid he won't be able to compete with Kaka and Ronnie...
The whole world knows that Seedorf is a midfielder but our officials see if different and consider him as a forward (check our official website).

O and about the young Zidane, we were interested in two Bordeaux players years ago (Zidane and Dugarry) we got Dugarry the rest is history. Just to mention that or our scouting system was completely incompetent (what I doubt) or the Zidane we all know was yet to be molded at that time.
I also think we (media) shouldn't make comparisons but I'm afraid that's just wishfulthinking.

Every club has their own the so-called right and wrong decisions regarding transfer and scouting. There many things that contribute to whether a promising player fails or succeeds at the new club. We might be wrong buying Dugarry, not putting adequate belief in Vieira, etc but on the other side, back when we still had Rivaldo and Rui, out of the blue, we got Kaka

This team is not possible. The only way this team can exsist is if we play one GREAT CB and play kaladze as a LB. Then Yoan, Kaka', Pirlo, Dinho and one forward can play together in a serious game.

This is to attacking and has no solid defence. Like Siregar said, Milan played with Nesta, Maldini, Stam, Cafu etc... before.

As I said to Siregar, the team I put there is not what I expect mostly because I expect signings before (should) Gourcuff return. The reason I named a lineup was to show what I see gourcuff's role in the side or squad to be.

I think gourcuff is perfect to replace seedorf at the end of the season.
And in ACMILAN1893's team i would only put a quality CD in kaladze's place and that's it.

Based on Gourcuff's performance vs Lyon (which was the match of the weekend), i think he has gained the confidence that he was lacking at milan based on the trust that Blanc has put in him... he is Gourcuff and should not be compared to anyone... i think he should play for a club that builds a team around him... he is key to every thing moving forward in Blanc's team...
He gave a very good account of himself against one of the best teams in europe...

Sounds like we have another Borriello in the making. Hopefully he is not as injury prone.

You know, having Gourcuff back wouldn't mean for sure having Seedorf off ... I'd like that but I don't think that Seedorf will be sold next season !!

About our team, if we add Gourcuff in the players and remove Emerson for example (lol always the same guy), we could play like this:

Kaka' -- Gourcuff -- Ronnie
--------- Striker ---------
(Kaka' being free in this formation, he could play on the right, coming back to centre to combinate with Gourcuff or playing like a support-attacker)

We would have:
- 3 AM + Seedorf + Pirlo able to play there if needed + Pato if really needed + Abate if he comes back (who knows) because he could play sometimes on the right more on the wing than Kaka'
- 2 DM + Pirlo (or Pirlo in first team instead of Gattuso or Flamini but only against defensive teams) + Ambrosini + Cardaccio (who knows too lol)

So still even more solutions for Ancelotti than this year by taking back both Gourcuff and Abate.

The only areas to reinforce would be defense (we all know who we need to replace: Maldini, Favalli, maybe Nesta too, and we also know that our reinforcements must be better than Kaladze lol, and if we can take someone replacing Janku, it could be nice too) and attack (Sheva off to take a new very good striker for example ?? Inzaghi being there like a joker for Coppa Italia and if there are injuries) + GK if there is a good deal possible somewhere lol ...

You can't seriously expect Pirlo to be put on the bench...do you? It's all nice in theory but we know Ancelotti better than that and we know when everyone's fit it'll be Pirlo - Rino - Ambro/Seedorf + Kaka and R80 in midfield. No space for Gourcuff.
