I saw extended highlights of the match and based on what I saw it seems Leo summed up the match pretty well. We started very well and controlled proceedings for at least 20 minutes. However, the first goal appeared to sting and come from nowhere. What cannot be denied is Inter made a very good move for the goal. Their movement and passing was exemplary. Had we been better organised and Janku better positioned, it could have been prevented, but it's easy to say in hindsight.
After that I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it would seem the team lost focus on it's goals and tried to respond immediately, leaving us open to the counter. Had Gattuso been fit, then it might have been ok to press Inter for an equaliser, as we'd have cover should they counter. However, he wasn't fit and there was no sub made yet, meaning we were pressing up without suitable cover in midfield (shows why Rino is vital to this side). Imo, we should have looked to regain composure and control given the circumstances and have pulled Flamini into a more restricted role until Rino could be subbed. Either way, we didn't and we conceded the penalty and eventually Maicon's goal, which was definitely due to a weak and irresponsible challenge by Janku. The second half seemed more of a case of prevention rather than looking to get back into the match. That said we didn't do a good job anyway, and there generally seemed to be too much space between the defence and unstructured midfield, leaving us open to many long shots. The good thing is we now have 2 weeks to analyse and learn (both the players and Leo) from this match and build on the work that we've done until now. There's obviously disappoint from this match, but it's best to use it the time productively with a view to try and remain competitive this season. 4-0 was humiliating and disgraceful, but ultimately we're still only a point behind Inter. |

what the hell was Rino thinking? what an idiot... the worst thing is, he actually blamed Leonardo for the red card as Leo didn't take him off in time.... my god. Very stupid move by Gattuso, very stupid. I believe thats what cost us the game - single handedly.

Regarding the Gattuso issue, yeah Gattuso didnt have to go in for a challenge(against Sneijder),when he already knew that he was on a yellow and that he was going to be substituted.
But if he were angry with Leo, i dont think there was anything wrong in that coz a coach needs to keep his players on his toes and when there is a substitution your players need to be ready. There s no excuse for that.

Being late with the report.
Inter kicked Milan ass after 25mins into the game. The first 25mins were awesome, as both teams played well and the movement and speed from both sides were excellent. Actually, last night was a great football night for me, as I first i saw the Chelsea's game, then the Pool's game then the Arsenal and ManU and finish it off with the Derby. The first goal, it was as good as it gets from a team play perspective. And proves that Janku sucks. The second goal was a typical JM's tactics goal. And Gattuso should have been sent off as he was the last man back and fouled Eto. The third goal was another Janku's mistake. Forth goal was just a great shot What I liked about the match was how Leo tried to attack the right side of Inter from the get go, as that will limit the chance of Maicon bombing forward. What I disliked was Leo did not sub in Hunter and Abate in the second half but went with Seedorf and Ambro. Personally, I think with a man down and 3-0. There was a very slim chance in beating Inter or getting a tie. Leo should have realise that and sub out Dinho and Pato in the beginning of the second half. Have HUnter, Abate and Borri up front with Pirlo and Flamini in midfield and see what Hunter and Abate can do in the match. NO point having Pato and Dinho in the match at the risk of picking up an injury. As for the Gattuso thing, he was over the line. He should have gotten a red card with the foul on Eto. The tackle on Snejider was horrible. Leo should have Seedorf or Ambro ready when Gattuso first ran down, but still Gattuso really did over react and acted very unprofessionally in the match. Last comment. I know Seedorf is slow on the pitch, but I did not know that he is also slow off the pitch. |

It is so simple.
Milan last year was a crap team, we lost Kaka and we are more crap than last year.To fill Kaka's sell we bought Hunter, but nothing changes. Inter last year was a great team with a nice roster. They lost their best player and they bought Militto,Lucio,SneiderMotta and Eto.They sold 1 good player they bought 5 good players. Its so simple we, we dont spend moneys, we got fucck. So simple. |

We desperately need a physical specimin on both of our flanks. Zambro and Janku arent good enough. About Rino, he lost his head and is not captain material. Infact, in a team with no creativity and a lack of players to take the ball and run he isnt Milan quality. Rino was best at destroying when we had the worlds best midfielders. Now that we have average midfielders, we need them all to be able to pass.
