Ronaldinho constantly had 2 players on him and he simply never was able to dribble Maicon (Antonini wasn't that bad against him ... just to refer to a discussion we had on the Banter topic, he was even good again I think, and when he had to be replaced by Janku ... we saw the difference), Beckham crosses a lot, but he is too far when he does and it often comes from behind (harder for the strikers to head the ball this way), so Borriello was actually alone against both Lucio and Samuel. About the person who said that Inter was going to play against Parma at the next game and surely beat them, don't forget they will play without Lucio, Chivu, Eto'o and Sneijder. Parma can win one point, which would withdraw this defeat (by thinking about our game against Fiorentina) !! |

One other thing, Samaldinho is right saying we are losing many balls in attacking third. When we're playing an attacking football we play, we cannot afford to lose balls in the final third. Barcelona is a team who plays similar as we are and anyone could saw last year against Chelsea how much they're vulnerable on counter when they losing balls in midfield. But, all of Barcelona's midfielders are technically strong, including two wide players, and, more important, when any of them lose the ball, they run to correct their error, by making foul or something, and our players (Ron, Pirlo, Seedorf...) just stop running when they lose the ball. Their is one thing we can do, but that is impossible to happen: We can buy a player like De Rossi (impossible), put him in line with Pirlo and buy a replacement for Seedorf (Hernanes?), which would mean Ambro on the bench (more impossible than first).
Paolo3 is also right, since Kaka and Sheva left we simply do not have a player who can decide a big game. |

We can still win the league! But I think the Inter games have shown even if we do we still have signifcant areas to impove on. An d one final point about Borrielo, how many English Premier League teams would he get into? Lucky if it was half of them! And this is the man who can't be dropped by Milan

Hitman, I'm sorry, but you are just being cruel to our players. Just because Pirlo scored a miraculous goal, that means our performances don't count? Because Juve made mistakes, we are not supposed to "count" that as a win? Okay, so today's Inter win doesn't count, because, we made mistakes.
I'm sorry, I mean this with respect, but can you be nice to your own team? Honestly, it's not fair to discount what these players have done. I'm putting the blame on Borriello not because I don't like him. Again, I like him a lot, but this is the sort of game that shows where the real mistakes are. Even with Nesta out, our defense wasn't the problem. Sure, Abate made a big mistake, but with our two first choice FBs out (Oddo and Zambro, and I'm not thrilled with them either) Abate is trying his best. Antonini has won me over, and I used to dread him coming on. Favalli didn't even play bad. Now that I think about it, I think Pirlo should have come off for Seedorf, because Gattuso and Ambro both needed to be on there, because that was the sort of game Inter play. Power and strength in midfield. Look at their midfield: Zanetti, Cambiasso, and Muntari. That is a destructive unit. Dida was at fault for Pandev's goal, it was a poor free-kick, he even seemed to get there in time. We need a striker. Seriously. This is why Chelsea, Inter, Barca, and other teams are ahead of us. Not because they are better, sure, we look at their players with envy, but, our team has played very well, especially considering the injuries. However, Chelsea has Anelka and Drogba, Inter Milito and E'too, Barca with Zlatan (plus its Spain, everyone scores 20+ goals). We are relied upon Kaka for goals, and now Ronaldinho. That's the problem. That why we went for Gila, for Ricardo Oliveira, Borriello, and now Huntelaar. We need a guy who just scores, and its not coincidence that Milan started playing well last year when Inzaghi just scored goals, not created, not nothing, just scored. Borriello seems like he can't do that at the same level as Milito, Drogba, or Zlatan. We aren't relying on Kaka or Dinho because of Galliani's stupidity. We're doing it because these strikers aren't performing. That's bad luck on our side, who would have thought Gila would tank as badly as he did? I didn't think that. Maybe Dzeko will be another flop? I'm not sure. But, if Gila is anything to think about, it seems there are no guarentees (check out CR9 and Kaka at Real) in football. However, watching games like this, I honestly believe, we need him. |

Of course, we were never linked with Milito, but Sneijder actually rejected Inter many times in the summer (it was so humiliating for Inter) since he wanted to join Milan, but I guess it is easy to see who is actually the loser. Also, Pandev was free, and it was just about salary, and we were too cheap. Just a few seasons back, we were still giving out big contracts to everybody, and Galliani is now complaining about no money. It is to say the least ironic. I really believe Galliani this time - that we won't sign anybody. I hope that Pato and Nesta come back soon. At least we are in CL final 16 and Manchester is weaker than Inter, Chelsea, Real and Barcelona. Heck, even Bayern Munich seems to be fire recently. I don't even know when Pato got hurt and how, and he has sat out so many games. What the fvkc. Don't tell me that he will miss the Manchester game too. That would be too much to bear. ![]()

I still think we can win the league, too. We have an easy sort of run now until the end of the season, where we have 5 tough games. If we keep on winning like we did before this game, we can catch Inter. It's only 9 points. There are lots of games left. It's a huge missed opportunity, but we can still make it.
At least if we aim that high, we won't risk being complacent and end up fighting for third place...

This game also dents Milan's hopes against Manchester, I fear a repeat of today. Dang I hope the effect of this loss is minimal.
and to those who say we don't have gamewinners like Sheva and Kaka, I disagree....we have Seedorf, Pato, and Pirlo. Pirlo doesn't score those goals out of nowhere but he does contribute in attacking team play that does save our a$$es sometimes. Pato is definitely capable of being that star but he is just way too inconsistent. And yes, we definitely do need that striker that could be a top scorer, I thought Huntelaar could be that this year but I was wrong.. btw - does anyone else think Pirlo should be banned from taking free-kicks again? he hasn't shot a good free-kick in years! I always thought R80, Pato(yes) and Seedorf offer greater threats in free-kicks. |

and Xudong, I won't start one in a while but this is my first loss! Boriello should still be starting ahead of Huntelaar - no question about that..however keeping him all the time is what I don't like. Hunter should start in some games or should come in INSTEAD of Boriello earlier in the second half some times. Pippo also offers a different dimension that Boriello, I just am pissed off with Leo that he constantly plays Boriello. |

wow back to reality!
abate was an amateur today(and its not the first time),and i will say it once more even though many of you dont want t see it:HE IS NOT A MILAN MATERIAL.- FAVALLI IS NOT A MILAN MATERIAL.-not even close we cannot be a whole different team, each time nesta is out..pathetic! few players from our squad are good enough for this team.. borriello today was really good!!he was always first on the ball, and he was a danger all 90 mins.. bekcham can really destroy our attacking potential with his style. i am dissapointed because whereas we can play good football we lack of the spirit we used to have against inter!THEY ARE CRAP ALL SEASON LONG,except the 2 games against us.. we have to win this championship, inter will continue losing points..although some players should NOT be on this team, they destroy leo's dream, its certain!

Hitman, we definatley have match winners in Dinho, Pato, Pirlo, etc.
And I agree with you completely that Borriello stays on waaay too long. I wonder if Antonini didn't hurt his head, forcing Leo to put in Janku, if we would have seen Pippo and Hunt on instead of Borriello? Borri should be starting ahead of Huntelaar. Huntelaar might have done well in the final minutes (and I think he should be playing more) but in our tactical system, I don't think Huntelaar would have changed much. He does not hold onto the ball very well alone, and that's what Borri does. But Borri just HOLDS the ball and does nothing with it. Huntelaar just gets pushed over. Milan is lacking a guy who just scores goals for no reason. Inzaghi used to be that guy, but, I don't think he can be anymore. Maybe he'll shoot to life again in the spring? I hope so. I normally think of Roma as the Arsenal of Serie A, but, its obvious that a major problem with Arsenal is the lack of a real striker. Just a guy to score, like Milito, who I don't think is a great player, but he just scores goals. I don't think we should be looking to Ronaldinho for that. That is our problem. Borriello can do that, but, if he's not scoring, he's not adding anything, same with Huntelaar. Sure, Borriello works hard, but he doesn't do ANYTHING with the ball he worked hard for. That's why I want Dzeko. |

This nonsense about Hunterlaar not being able to play in a 4-3-3 is ridiculous. He's played in that system numerous times in his career and always done well. There are some players (Ibra, Torres, Drogba) who would be better at it tham him. Borielo is not one of them! Kevin Davies is better than him!

I agree, it's ridiculous saying that Hunter cannot fit in 4-3-3. Netherlands is playing 4-3-3 for ages, Van Baster fitted in it, Ruud fitted in it... Now Huntelaar is playing in that position. Why do we need a target man anyway? I mean, we just need a striker to score goals. Don't get me wrong, I would like Dzeko to come, but even Dzeko isn't magician, he can't be in two positions at the same time. Huntelaar needs a proper chance. To be fair to Inzaghi too, he should be the first replacement, he would be satisfied with it.
