One more thing when the trio Kaka,Gourcuff,Gila. Our team was a lot faster then. Kaka,Seedorf,Inzaghi. Carlo should take that into consideration or fire his @$$.

Come to think about it, what happened like 3 years ago vs Celtic in Scotland? I mean, we always have one player ridiculing himself there (you know...Gila's dive), but I don't remember that game at all, so maybe it's just a trend that someone had to continue, and since time was running out, Dida decided to do it, as it seemed no one else wanted, and the fan running on to him was the perfect excuse.

Well, same old story as the past few weeks really, not much new to say today. Again, confidence is low, to the point where we can't actually do the basics right and get punished at every moment we screw up. The pace of our game improved though, but there is so much more to sort out I honestly can't wait to get this Lazio match out of the way so the players can clear their head a little from Milan's troubles. I will mention that the conditions made it extremely difficult for both sides.
The first half was extremely dull, almost nothing to talk about. We were playing too deep (something that is an issue to sort out), though we kept possession the players looked almost afraid to get on the ball (confidence), our play during this half was lethargic (pace) and generally there were so many breaks in play neither side were capable of doing much. The second half was also tame, with the number of stoppages increasing (there must have been at least 10 mins lost through breaks in play). Neither side was particularly good and quite frankly neither side looked like CL quality teams this match. As for the goals, the first was a mistake by our defence where firstly the Celtic player was lost and able to head on the ball, then Dida misjudged the header and tried to save at goal letting it through to the back post and Gourcuff wasn't chasing back well enough and ended up scoring an own goal. Our penalty was very harsh on Celtic, though technically correct as Ambro did get held and the last goal was just as comical as the first. It starts with our inability to clear the ball, then Nakamura gets in on the right and instead of pushing him to the byline we let him cut in onto his left foot (he has no right foot yet we let him play with his best foot), then there's the Celtic player who initially took the shot after being given far too much space, then Dida flaps the ball back in front when a keeper of his quality should divert it outwards and to top it off, whilst the rest of the defence pushes out to play offside, one player (I thought it was Oddo, but seems it's Gourcuff), plays the Celtic players on, which is infuriating as the same thing happened against Palermo. Players... Dida - Made mistakes that gave away goals Oddo - Not too bad going forward, not a good performance though Nesta - Solid Bonera - Solid Janku - Gave the ball away cheaply on many occasions and also was the one who let Nakamura cut in on the second Celtic goal Gattuso - At times he was no where, at others tried to charge forward, but in the end did very little Pirlo - Struggled to really get into the match Ambro - One of our better players, looked solid and comfortable on the ball Seedorf - Poor by his standards Kaka - by far our best player, and his touches are beautiful Pippo - did pretty much nothing, I don't even remember a single shot (not actually his fault that) Gourcuff - Got to feel sorry for the kid, he did well when we pushed forward and became important in the play, but in defence he had a nightmare Gila - he has to, and I mean HAS TO, play against Lazio. The guy's actually starting to play well so we have to try and bring his best out of him while his confidence grows. Kalac - NA I'm tired of coming out with the same conclusions now after every game. It's the same again today. Confidence is really rock bottom, and most of all that's hurting us as the players simply can't perform. Our attacking play is often far too slow (something we improved on at times today as I said at the start of the post) and we're playing extremely deep (when building attacks, 7 players on average are at the centre circle/halfway line). The team is still failing to work as a unit, within which there's little structure and the movement is awful (with exception to a couple of players). Celtic will and should be in big trouble though, after one of their fans got on the pitch and "attacked" (might be too strong a word) Dida. Well, to all the Celtic fans, I feel for you, because a good victory (Congratulations to you) has been ruined by a single moron that has put the club in hot water. I look ahead to the Lazio game with my usual enthusiasm, as I know sooner or later we will get out of this, but I can't actually say I'm optimistic as it's difficult to see how we will get these problems sorted. I'm extremely happy that tonight it was a CL match we lost and not a league match, as that means we haven't lost further ground in the league and realistically we still have a very good chance to go through in CL. FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Unfortunately today he didn't. I have a few positive things to say though: 1) Milan IS capable of winning. It's like a giant got woken up by the first goal, and kept attacking and attacking. that's the kind of SPIRIT that Milan is missing; It's not about talent, technique, tactics, Dida`, Gila... it's about the desire. 2) So what's next? - I suggest to play Gourcuff more because he does bring the game tempo up a bit. But he needs to be more mature in different situations; at some points he tries hard to beat the opponent 1vs1 but in a CL game, that often doesn't work (e.g., Ronaldo vs. Gattuso or Oddo or both). He needs to be more mature to play better. - Think about what's going wrong with our DEFENSE, and not just put the blaming tag on Dida. Our defense is not that fantastic to be honest for the past few games, and at times it looks shaky. - Final point: If supporters can just accept that Milan is going through a tough period and get together behind the team regardless of the result, I'm sure, no matter what, Milan will re-cover faster than if we say, "sell Gila" or "loan Dida to Sheffield Wednesday". Be critical, and positive. In ending, I just quote what Dev has said: I look ahead to the Lazio game with my usual enthusiasm, as I know sooner or later we will get out of this, but I can't actually say I'm optimistic as it's difficult to see how we will get these problems sorted. I'm extremely happy that tonight it was a CL match we lost and not a league match, as that means we haven't lost further ground in the league and realistically we still have a very good chance to go through in CL.
