I think Ibrahimovic will be our next tranfer if we go through to the group stage, he is not ia a good shape but he is a very good player.

If you think playing Red Star at our point of preparation will be a walk in the park, you seriously need to reconsider...

The questions is
1. Do we need new signings to be sure to get past Red Star?
2. How much money are we willing to spend?

What about Javier Saviola? People have mentioned this guy before, he will be a lot cheaper than any of the other candidates for the striker-role. And then we can have enough money to buy Diarra, Buffon, Gallas and Oddo.

Actually I think Saviola could be a good partner for Gilardino, and replacement for Inzaghi. I think they have complementary skills, and he has great speed and an eye for goal.

1. It's too late to register more players for the matches against Red Star.
2. What choice do we have? We should be willing to spend a lot, at least what we made from the sales of Shevchenko and Stam. We are starting the league with -8 points and we need a team which is able to make up for that.

I'm not sure. But they have a lot of good attacking players who did well last season, and new signing Gudjohnsen from Chelsea. Maybe he doesn't fit in their system anymore? Anyway, I think it's strange. Saviola was quite good in the WC as well I think. And he's still young also and has got an enourmous amount of talent.

I think Saviola would do well in such a "family" as Milan is and getting some sort of trust from his team manager, like he didn't have in Barcelona.

1. Thanks I didn't know that
2. I agree that we should spend a lot on the right players cause as you said "We are starting the league with -8 points and we need a team which is able to make up for that" but are we going to spend all the transfer money from Sheva and Stam, if so I really hope it will be on players that can improve the team and not squad/backup players.

It looks like all of our transfers will hinge on us getting past Red Star, which i think is a mistake. They should be bought now, waiting until after the tie will be too long and will mean missing out on some targets and will leave ourselves a small amount of time to conduct any negotiations.
I think it is very big mistake to wait till we pass Red Star...because Red Star isnt naive team and we shouldnt underestimate them...i`am from Macedonia and i know Red Star good...and i know that they are good team...i hate them but...they are good...you all saw what happend to Roma last season

The players also have to WANT to come to Milan you know.. it's not WE who are waiting.. it's the players who want to be guaranteed CL participation before they come here. I'll go as far as saying that if we crush them at the San Siro.. we'll sign someone before the end of the week.

There are many reasons for Barcelona not keeping Saviola, among them:
- He is regarded as a player from the last management, before Laporta and co. arrived there.
- He has a huge contract, which Barcelona wants to reduce. Obviously Saviola is against this and he doesnt need to do it. This huge contract is regarded as a huge mistake (overpay) by the actual management.
- Saviola is going to be a free agent in june 2007 and obviously Barcelona wont help him get a new fat deal. Since they cant come to terms regarding a new and lower contract, Barcelona wont play him there. And if certain club wants to take him, they have to pay for his salary. But also Barcelona wants to sell him now and get something (some cash) before being left with nothing, empty "handed".

Well, thats the situation there more or less. He had success in Barcelona before, and he is obviously better than what they have sitting on the bench. He even played a very good season under their current coach (FR).

What I cant seem to understand is why is our participation in the CL such a big deal for potential signings? We are AC MIlan, not Palermo. Even if by some miracle, we dont qualify for the CL, we should have enough drawing power to still attract the best players on the planet. We are a winning club with a rich history. No matter what happens, playing for AC Milan would be something any player would want on his CV. And given our history and status, we will be challenging for honours in every tournament we play in anyways.

So I think we certainly should start wrapping up our transfers soon. The faster we get some key players, the better idea we will have about what the team will look like, and the better we can prepare for next season.....cant wait to CRUSH the "fake" scudetto holders, Inter in the derby...

Its about us, not them. Its not that Diarra is in stand-by mode, waiting to see whether Milan plays UCL or not, same for other targets. Milan is waiting to see if they make it and then splash their money.
