Are you part of our management ? How can you be certain of this ?

So, if we dont make it to the CL, we dont need a top striker to replace Sheva? Are Inzaghi, Amoroso, and Gilardino enough to carry us in the serie a with an eight point deficit?

It's not common sense. Common sense should be to replace Sheva soon and start reinforcing the team for the upcoming season.

if we don't make to CL, chances are we'll get Oddo, maybe Ze Roberto too and either Suazo or Crespo and keep either Boriello or more probably Amoroso.
If we get into Cl then we could definitely aim at big-money moves like Buffon, Diarra, Zlatan, Torres, Tevez (although we've never been even remotely assocated with him), Dinho, etc, etc.
I am not saying we won't add anyone at all but I am pretty sure you can scratch off the big names from the shopping list as we will have far less money to spend freely, we won't need super midfielders or super strikers as Serie A and a CL spot would be our only targets, which means not exactly a stellar season to look forward to. The big shopping spree will be left for next year when we'll almost certainly need it to cope at two fronts - serie A and CL, especially the latter.
And last but not least, our missing on a CL spot would affect our potential purchases as players like Diarra will almost certainly choose a CL playing real M over a Milan out of CL. The same goes for most of the big names we've been associated with. Maybe only exception would be Buffon but that's yet to be seen.

Jose Mourinho: No offer from Milan for Gallas. Read it for yourselves:

I dont think that money should be that big of an issue for a club of our stature, and also considering the fact that we have not dished out too much in the last two or three years. Furthermore, we just got 35M in cash for the sale of Shevchenko, so notwithstanding this year's transfer budget, we certainly have enough money for a big-name replacement with or without CL.

Secondly, even with an eight point deficit, we should be aiming to win the Serie a. For a club like ours, aiming for second or fourth spot even before the season starts is not acceptbale. We were unable to win the serie a in the last couple of years even with a formidable squad. Now with our star striker gone, and an aging squad, AND an eight point deficit, I feel that we really need to reinforce the squad with quality in order to win the league---CL or no CL.

As for players who would snub us if we dont qualify, then it's ultimately their loss. There is no guarantee that we will make the CL every year in the future. We need players who will give their all for the club through thick and thin and not only through "good times". So if Diarra REQUIRES CL football in order to sign with us, then I would happily tell him to piss off, because AC Milan is bigger than any player.

No matter what happens, playing for AC Milan would be something any player would want on his CV. And given our history and status, we will be challenging for honours in every tournament we play in anyways.

So I think we certainly should start wrapping up our transfers soon. The faster we get some key players, the better idea we will have about what the team will look like, and the better we can prepare for next season.....cant wait to CRUSH the "fake" scudetto holders, Inter in the derby...
That's how it should be, but not how it is. The best players want to play in, and win, the Champions League.

Young players should join us anyway, they know that if you play for Milan for 10 seasons you will play in the Champions Leage at least 9 of them. So missing out 1 season shouldn't be a big deal for them.

Favalli

Lyon now want 35 million euros for Diarra and Real are only offering 20. If he goes for that price i will be mad as hell !

I think if we offered 30-35 million euros + Vogel for both Diarra & Reveillere, we'd have a good chance of getting both. Both of which could go straight into the first team and hopefully join Gallas aswell

Getting those 3 would soften the pain of getting Ibrahimovich

inter signed crespo, i hope we'll get some good striker, but i dont think so... lets see

skysports:

Quote:
Internazionale have signed Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo on a two-year contract.

The Argentine international has insisted in recent months that his future lay away from Stamford Bridge and now he has been granted his wish of a move.

Former club Milan had been leading the chase, but recently crowned Italian champions Inter joined the chase earlier this month and have now secured his signature.

Inter have confirmed that Crespo has arrived on a free transfer, but Chelsea have the option to buy him back after one season.

The move sees Crespo move back to the Nerazzurri - the club he spent a year with before his move to West London in 2003.

Jose Mourinho did not want to lose Crespo and he was offered a fresh deal at Chelsea, but a move back to Italy was always his preference and now he has sealed the deal by putting pen to paper with Roberto Mancini's men.

The move now leaves Chelsea a striker short, with just Didier Drogba and Andrei Shevchenko - the likes of Arjen Robben and Salomon Kalou can fill in but Mourinho is more than likely to move for another forward before the transfer deadline at the end of August.

So Inter has Crespo and probably Luca Toni, if Fiorentina permitted. hhmmm.... Can our defence handle them in the next derby?
