Pato played in a Milan side that was slow, tired, injured and had a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Even like that, an 18 year old boy played some superb football and in some matches ( Lazio, Torino, Catania, Genova ) played by himself against the oppositions. Against Roma at the Olimpico he was also great, scored on his debut for Brasil...

this player has special abilities but needs a strong Milan side to take some of the pressure off him like Pippo is doing in the last 5 games.

For Pato formation 4-3-1-2 is perfect, and if Carletto is willing to play Kaka'-CF-Pato next year, with strong Milan side, we could see the fenomenon in this boy.

When Sheva arrived in Milan he was 22, Pato is now 18, and in FOUR years you will see how good Pato is. And he is a world class player.

Mehdi is an unknown quantity at this point
Pato has yet to play a full season at senior level. He has unlimited potential and he's at a club that should ensure he doesn't get distracted off the field. He's played a big part in getting us to 4th place.

Pato's first (half) season has been pretty incredible I'd say. he's averaging more than a goal every two games in a Milan that has struggled dearly this season.

He's shown some immaturity, but this is expected at his age and all points to a very bright future. His talent is unquestionable, and I suspect Leonardo's comment about us having a future Ballon D'or winner will be true.

He deserves to have a regular spot in the team next season, and looks ready for it.

I've heard Berlusconi isn't happy with Pato's management right now, and i agree. Carlo mustn't waste Pato's talent on the bench. I don't want Pato to lose his freshness and confidence like Gilardino, and you all know how much i like Carlo.
I agree with Berlu on here. Pato should start, no matter who is around.

On another note, the President after the Derby told Pato that in Milan's derby you have to play with care and gently told him that Milan's derby is something serious. He was meaning that Pato should have played that dangerous ball near our box with more care.

The Duck is going to school. I'm confident about him, but he should start. In Napoli i was pissed off that Carlo left him on the bench for 45 minutes.

agreed he should defo play vs udinese, i have no problems with him being on the bench now and again because pippo was in incrediable form but against napoli in a must win he should have started, next season i want kaka behind pato and either huntelaar or berbatov thats my dream which is not going to happen how we are in uefa cup.

Playing Pato shouldn't mean we have to bench Pippo who's in sizzling hot form. Just play BOTH I don't see what's so difficult about this. Seedorf will take the bench but he only plays 10 good matches in an entire season anyway. Kaka will be in his best position where he can playmake and do whatever he wants. Kaka playmaking from the striker position leaves the team unbalanced often isolating the other striker.

I understand Carlo’s decision to leave Pato on the bench for a few matches in recent weeks, Pippo’s been too hard to bench and he had found a good balance in the side. But his decision to leave out Pato against Napoli really had me questioning whether he’s managing him correctly too, so I totally understand if Berlu is annoyed about this.

This case isn’t the same as Gourcuff, because while Gourcuff has been making immature mistakes (like Pato), he hasn’t managed to make up for these with his quality, which is what Pato has done.

Pato needs to develop, everyone knows this, but already he’s quite phenomenal. At 18, the fact in half a season he’s already scored 8 goals and provided a couple assists in an awful Milan side, on top of missing 7-8 games through injury or being on the bench, never mind playing some matches out of position on the wing, shows precisely how good he’s been. If he had played some of those matches he’d missed, there’s no reason to believe that he wouldn’t have scored around 10-12 goals, and we’re talking about only half a season. For a couple of years we’ve been talking about a striker that can look to get us 20 goals a season, now that we have one, we need to nurture him into the potential star we have, but also use him for his abilities.

Against Lazio when whole Milan played like sh... Pato played by himself ON THE WING and all the passes went to 18 year old boy who played like superman! Against Torino Pato also created numerous occasions for Seedorf/Gila, and was the best man on the field. Agains Genova he brought us 3 points, same against Fiorentina. Against Catania Pato was also THE best player on the pitch and so on...

And he should have played against Napoli. He is a phenomenal player, that deserves to play as much as he can. It was good to rest him a bit, and let superpippo do his time, but in Napoli benching Pato was a mistake.

Yoan also started great in Milan and then what? bench warming after one smaller injury...aguess Brocchi is better.
