We should give milan youngester a try. After all we are not playing so good with the senior player. There must be a quality player amount lots of the youngster

Former Barcelona and Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini believes the secret to the Blaugrana's success is developing talent.

Victor Valdes, Carles Puyol, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Bojan Krkic and Lionel Messi have all come through the youth ranks at Camp Nou into the first team.

Albertini, who played for Barca, believes their success stems from the focus of nurturing good talent, and he has told Italian sides to do the same.

"Having eight players who came from their youth system is the key to Barcelona's success," Albertini told Tuttosport.

"There is a strong sense of belonging to the club."

The former Italian international feels Serie A clubs should do the same.

"Things are different in Italy. In Spain they wait years for their talents to develop. Look at Iniesta for example, he became who he is because he was on the fringes of the first team for several years with no-one rushing him," added Albertini.

"In Italy they don't play youngsters because they fear burn out will occur, or they treat an 18-year-old like a superstar without him even proving it."

The Barcelona model would only work for Juve and Inter for one simple reason, they are the only teams willing to spend money. Here is the thing, the only reason Barcelona can be so patient with their young players is because they have mature star players covering their respective positions. And mature star players come from the strong spending power of the club in the market. There is a reason Barcelona didn't rush Messi to take over because they had Ronaldinho. Whereas in Milan, Berlusconi talked about Pato scoring 30 goals in six months when he was a 17 years old. For the Barcelona model of youth development to work, a team has to spend enough money to sign stars. And that is why most Serie A teams and especially milan won't be able to do it as they either have no money to spend, or like milan, has no willingness to spend on the transfer market.

Actually the real problem would be how they are developed, not being given a proper chance, and having old ideas blokcnig their path.

This Dinho retirement thing just goes to show he doesnt care. I hope we fork out some money and buy JoJo from Florence... he is young and talented. If we buy him to play CAM, and we buy a mid and maybe a FB (although Abate might work) I would like our core for the next number of years. Pato, Huntelaar, Flamini, Silva, Abate, etc all have talent and are pretty young

I don't think he will walk away from his 7 or 8 million a season , if winning and enjoying football cannot motivate him maybe money and Don Silvio's young girls can. Time to try a different approach for the enigma that is Dinho the approach of sex & money...

Stoari seems to be playing quite well lately. does anyone think there is a chance that he can continue to be the first choice keeper when Abs is healthy?

It's a very good question ...
Anyway, I think that the hierarchy will be respected, Storari is the 2nd keeper (he "won" this 2nd keeper place during the pre-season games and the first game of Serie A), so he will be benched I think when Abbiati will be totally fit and healthy.

I don't know when Abbiati will come back, but the best would be to see him playing in Italian Cup for the first time, and if he is ok, we should use him again as our first choice, but by keeping in mind that Storari is there and that the starting place for GKs isn't a sure place for Abbiati ...

I would even let Storari being our first GK while he is on fire (he made miraculous saves in each game !! Amazing ...), and when he will start to play a bit less well, we could push Abbiati in the first XI again ...

I would almost be in favor of keeping Stoari in the first XI, he is the younger of the two, and has been very good

The question that Milan needs to answer regarding the goalkeeper situation is what to with 5 million euros of wages recovered from getting rid of Dida.
