This is not just one signing Geo, this is the sort of signing MIlan should be doing every few years.
The last time Milan sign someone at Ibra status in Nesta, they won the CL right away.

it is so simple......
Ibrahimovic--------- world class striker------proven class---he is unique
Dzeko-------still a promissing striker like many others--------

we signed the best option....we cant continue buy promising strikers at the moment like Oliveira,Gilardino,Huntelaar spending moneys in rubbish.
We need a world class player.......

I agree completely. Its about time we stop taking risks on young players. We can't be spending money on unproven "stars". We need to be a Real Madrid club, a Manchester City club. Where we sign stars

Totally agree. Its a Nesta type of a signing. Maybe even bigger cause Ibra is a striker. You also can feel it when you see the number of members online in MM these last days...

In this article, they report that Galliani managed to make the price decrease: instead of 40M, it will be a loan with an option (but actually, an option we're not allowed to refuse) and we should pay between 25 and 30M in some installments.

I just have something to say if it is confirmed: perfect.

And I just think about something: Raiola is the agent of Balotelli. He played a big part in the sale of Balotelli to Manchester City (it's him who started to talk about the possible move). Who knows, he will maybe clash with Manchester City next season to send us Balotelli ?

ISn't Pato agent also Raiola.
Anyhow, even 40mil for Ibra is a bargain at this point.

I was trying to make that deal for so long in Football Manager but Barcelona were greedy bastards, excuse my French.

Class.

And the wage is about 8-8.5M. Very good indeed. A bit of wage inflation is needed to win something, we are not Arsenal.

I think Man City has a clause that they can't sell Balotteli to Milan (or Serie A clubs). Good work, Raiola, the more transfers, the more he earns.

No, feel safe, mate. He is Gilmar Velos, same agent for: Emerson , Geovani,...

I have read a very interesting post in another forum and I decided to quote it and bring it here.

Quote:
I’ve been holding off on posting this until the deal’s made official, but **** it. I apologise for the self-indulgent length, but if I didn’t explain my worries about the signing in detail I would just be dismissed as a hater. I probably still will be, if anyone actually bothers to read it. Anyway…

Ronaldinho-Ibrahimovic-Pato looks terrifyingly good on paper, but I have serious concerns about whether Milan can get the best out of the three of them, both as individuals and as a unit. A lot will depend on the shape they adopt.

The front three was the compromise Leonardo arrived at last season in trying to get the most out of the forwards available to him, and he probably got it right. Ronaldinho made enough of a contribution from his favoured position on the left to justify the marginalising of Pato, who still managed a respectable goal tally.

However, that was with Borriello. Leonardo's system worked because the pretty boy played ugly as the workhorse of the front three; providing constant movement, occupying the centre backs and busting a gut to get on the end of Ronaldinho's crosses. These are essentially the same things Guardiola wanted Ibrahimovic to do for him at Barca, and that, for me, is precisely why he struggled there. The camel-faced one doesn't want to be a penalty box striker, and he certainly doesn't want to do any Borriello-style thankless running.

One of my personal obsessions, particularly with regard to Milan over the past few seasons, is the balance between passers and receivers, creators and runners. Borriello is a runner. Eto'o was a vital runner in Barca's system, and his replacement with the more static Ibrahimovic appeared to hinder them last season. I’m worried that Zlatan’s arrival may have a similar effect on Milan. There has to be a possibility that it could create an imbalance between creators and runners.

In order to redress that imbalance, Ibrahimovic could be told to play as a more orthodox striker, and he would more than likely get a very healthy number of goals (which would of course lead to people telling me I’m an idiot). For me, though, if you limit him to that, you're not really getting Ibrahimovic – you’re just getting a good goalscorer instead of a complete striker and a genius. I want to see the genius.

So, coming back to the subject of Milan’s shape, my fear is that a front three similar to that of last season would restrict all three star forwards: Ronaldinho would lack an ever-present target for his crosses, Ibrahimovic would be restricted and Pato sidelined.

The other obvious option is to play Ronaldinho in a central role behind an orthodox front two of Ibrahimovic and Pato. This is probably my favoured option, as I think the latter two would both benefit hugely from playing close together, with Pato feeding off Ibrahimovic’s lay-offs, knock-downs and through-balls. Potentially the best front two on the planet, to my mind. The problem is, of course, that Ronaldinho simply is not the same creative force when used as a trequartista as he is on the left.

I’m probably coming across as a negative bastard here. Ibrahimovic is a fantastic player and an impressive signing. I’m just not yet convinced that he’s the right signing. The potential is undoubtedly there though, and this will be a huge test of Allegri’s ability.
Very interesting what he has to say and I'm afraid I have also thought about this before. Ronaldinho's inversatility can ruin Ibra and Pato's roles next year.

Ibrahimovic will greatly improve Milan, when building attacks, having the ball, assisting and by scoring goals. You simply always need 2 players to keep him or Pato in control, add Dinho and Pirlo creativity, which makes it almost impossible for teams to not concede goals, unluckily for Milan, Inter is one of those teams that can play a certain way. The main problem of the team is the fullbacks, they are not good enough and the midfield options are somewhat too old bar Flamini and Boateng who let´s face it both are not that good at all. With this all said I think Milan will be challenging Roma and Juve for second spot and end up getting that second spot.

This isn't a Nesta type signing.

Not because Zlatan isn't as good as Nesta was when we signed him, but because the year before we bought Nesta we signed Inzaghi, Rui Costa and Pirlo.

While Nesta's contribution was unquestionable, it was the goals of Inzaghi and the creativity of Costa and Pirlo (forged the season before) added to the quality of Shevchenko, Maldini, Gatusso, Albertini, Kaladze (he was good then) and Serghinio that we won the CL.

So, signing Ibrahimavich is a good, it is not built on the foundations that Nesta's was. CL is far away.

Hitman, that post is interesting, but not accurate. Leonardo's system didn't work, contrary to that post adn Boriello might have put in the donkey work, but we needed him to score the chances he missed. I'm sure Leo would have loved having him as the focal point of his attack.

On Ronnie, he has lost weight, more of his assists will be converted and hopefully Pato can do more of what he did to Real last season. And any prediction of how Milan will perform this season needs to consider the defence. Its much improved. This means the midfield can play woth more confidence. We will be okay.

Even thought I dont like Ibrahimovic (by the way he should have played for Bosnia because his father is Bosnian) he will be a great boot of moral and confidance for our team.
