So if Milan are signing Ibrahimavich on loan, selling Huntelaar and possibly Kaladze...is there any chance of becoming greedy and hoping for a midfielder and fullback?

If Milan won't be making the first payment on Ibrahimovic until next summer, I don't think that's completely outside the realm of possibility.

Our only realistic targets for these remaining days of mercato would be Van Der Vaart and Drenthe

Huntelaar's agent Arnold Oosterveer: Klaas-Jan thought he could stay, but in recent days the situation has changed. There will be four strikers for two positions and this is not so attractive. Milan told us that Klaas-Jan can leave the club. It will be fast negotiation as the market is closing. He still has a contract with Milan and we will decide what is best for him

Id go for Poli and Coentrao.

I would go for Poli as he seems an allround player, who is willing/able to defend and attack. With Pirlo, Ronnie, Pato and Zlatan in the team someone like Van der Vaart would give more headaches to the coach than solutions. Poli on the other hand would slot in nicely and eventually take the mantle from Seedorf.

It is reported that Drenthe and VdV (and M.Diarra) are out of the team because Mourinho doesn't want them anymore. It seems they are the Real rejects version 2010.

So if we were to take a midfielder, we should try to get VdV. The problem I see is that I think Real won't want to give these "rejects" to direct opponents (in Spain) or potential opponents (CL). With the draw of CL, we can even be counted like direct opponents as we will play against them.

As a consequence, I don't think it will be easy, and even possible, to get one of them. We should have moved earlier this summer.

And anyway, Ibrahimovic will surely be our last reinforcement with the 2 new young players (Coates, probably for the Primavera as he's 19 if I'm not wrong, and Montelongo, a 22yo RB, so surely in first team).

PS: Barcelona taking Robinho was a sure scenario ... and he's probably one of the players fitting the best in their team nowadays. Robinho-Villa-Messi, it's going to be hard to stop them, especially with guys like Pedro coming from the bench.

PS1: Allegri said today that Abate is a fullback in his opinion.

I do not know why people are so crazy about VDV. If your thinking he'll be a dynamo like Schneider is for Inter, you are mistaken.

Might want to hold off on thinking too much about having the money to bring in much more in the way of players. From barcastuff:

I don't think Milan will buy any major players after Ibra, as Flamini is staying.

Don't forget Ibra's wage. When you deduct Hunter's wage from Ibra's, Milan are still -12million.

Montelongo is confirmed as aloan with Milan making decision after 6 months on whether to buy whilst Coates transfer is ongoing.

First of all, good thing we didnt go for these players earlier in the mercato, because they'd be a lot more expensive. Now that Mourinho Axed them out, they're way cheaper. But I don't necessarily want any of them anyways. Pirlo, Flamini, KPB, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Merkel... we aren't getting any midfielders..trust me.

Sad to see RObinho go to Barcelona, I would have sold Ronaldinho NOW and bought Robinho as he's better for Allegri's system.

I agree, but he would give us an option in our playing style, esp as sub to help retain possession and get runners free. Anyay don't think we'll sign him as mardid couldn't be that stupid to have him going back to bernabeau and scoring winning goal, possibly.
