Yes, we have alot of respect for fellow ultras, even though it may not seem like it, we really do, and because the milan game could have been postponed, and wasnt, they decided to react..i dont blame them, why stop inter game, and not the milan match?
The first picture is the site of which Sandri was shot, and the second picture is the protest which happened outside the san siro, i participated in.

what i dont understand is why are people so outraged?
sandri was involved in or with some people that were involved in a fight.
an accident occurred.

how does this translate into stopping a football game?

edit: thank you jeff...

Yes, it was 100% NON- football related, an ultra was shot, even by a police man not even by another fan, no where near the stadiums, it makes 0 sense why the match was stopped, i was up in the curva, and then a security guard informed me of the situation therfore we all left, The worst possible choice, would be to stop italian football all together, that would be a joke, The second picture i posted, was of the protest, that Ultras held outside the San Siro, Police didnt get involved, but we got nothing out of doing it anyways.

He left Rome yesterday morning as a football fan to go to see his beloved team play and died because of it. I fully agree the match should never been played out of respect to him.

Yes that was a great post, and being an ultra myself, i felll extremely bad that i even went to the stadium, but i didnt know this had happened, untill the security guard told me to leave, because the match was postponed until firther notice. I am an ultra, and is ee first hand what happens, and ultras arent the ones that cause trouble, it is the hooligans that do.

That's your opinion but the people in power decided that the matches WERE to be played. Who are the ultras to think they're bigger than the FIGC and should dictate when matches should and should not be played? So much so as to physically damage the stadium so that the match isn't played?

so if i am a huge fan of a band...so much so that i travel months out of the year at a time...living on the road, and another die hard fan is accidently or even purposely killed by a police officer on his way to the concert, should they cancel the concert?

what was the protest in milan about?

Well its simple really. A couple of months ago, a police officer was killed by a group of fans. Serie A was suspended for a week or 2 as a mark of respect to the police officer who lost his life. Well now the same thing happened and this time a fan lost his life and was killed by the police. Instead of postponing the matches, they decided to go on with it and delay it by 10-15 minutes. I guess some supporters were offended by this and wanted a similar tribute as the policeman got when he was killed.

Menon, the difference is that the murder of the cop was a planned event and he was being singled out. This weekend this fan picked a fight with some juve fans and was accidently shot by a cop (who was trying to stop the fighting).

If this Lazio fan was stabbed and died by the juve fans would this rioting have taken place? Or is just because a cop shot an ultra? I'm a Milan fan, if I die in a non-soccer related accident on a game day will the Ultra's riot if games are played? These riots were not about football, they were about the Ultra's hate of the police, a conflict that they bring on themselves by the way they act.

If there are Ultras in this forum, please let me know when one of you die so I can tell my employer that I can't make it to work because of this event. And if they make me work I'll make sure I break some windows until they agree with me.

i think this incident was actually at a game, and the reason they suspended games was not out of respect, but out of fear of similar violence, either from the police or from ultra's.

this unlucky fan was in a fight at a gas station? he wasnt murdered, their was no intent to harm him by the police. in the case you mention above, the intent was different, the location was different. why cant the italians just go and enjoy a damn soccer game. cheer, sing, drink...even yell some obsentities at other fans, but to actually think its ok or normal to get into fist fights over your favorite team... absurd. to riot because some dude in brawl get accidently shot?

the seria a was just starting to get a little run here in the states...
well done people...scandels, cheating, killings, riots...suspended matches.

as someone who is constantly defending seria a, and trying to promote it, all this does is give the f ing english snobs more reason to shove their football down the throat of.....grrrrrr im out

The death of the fan was a horrible mistake and had nothing to do with football, just like the Atalanta clowns' violent spree and the rioting in Rome had nothing to do with the fan's death. Therefore, it was not necessary for the entire schedule to be suspended.

Here's an article worth reading in the Independent:

Why can't Italy rid itself of the scourge of football hooliganism?

Raciti's (the officer) death occurred during a match when trying to prevent a riot and was murdered, not accidentally killed. This was not the same, as the police officer who shot the Lazio fan accidentally from 200 yards away. He's admitted to not following protocol (running with the gun rather than putting it back into his holster) and so the incompetence on his part cannot be excused.

This was not a football related incident other than the person who got shot had a Lazio scarf around his neck. Further to that, the ones who really are to blame are the idiots who started the trouble, and they are the real culprits to this result. If the ultras want to get upset and stop matches for this fans death, then they ought to blame the other ultras, as the police wouldn't have been involved otherwise.

I agree with the thoughts here. When people are as suspicious of the police as the Ultras are they do not beleive the stories of the police when they say it was an accident. Also remember that the police is not a well respected occupation in Italy and that suspicion of them comes not only from Ultras but from society in general.
