maybe it was more wishful thinking than a set price on Wolsburgs part?

I know this hasn't anything to do with Milan but damn! Man Utd got a great player, I feel very envy of them right now this guy could have been an excelent replacement for Inzagui.......I really wish Milan could make some of these really smart moves ahead of next season, he's a solid player with the potential to being a world class striker, good speed, great finishing, solid heading, he can shoot with both feets, overall a very smart signing and altought no one wants to say how much Man U paid experts in Mexico are guessing 6-8M, so pretty cheap.

Please B&G give Leo full control over the transfers and I'm sure he'll be able to get us some usefuls signings on the cheap, just like he did with Kaka.

Imo, he's having a amazing season. Finally free of that strange ankle injure of last season, his form this season is superb.

Yep, he's first team player for CB position. He also is one of the 3 team captains. The sad part is, after this season, Chelsea, Real and Barça jumped on the race for his purchase.

To be fair, Chelsea sent a scout to Portugal before the others 2 just to follow him. Real are high on him, but I hope he doesn't go there. I'm tired of the way Real fans(and press) treat Brazilians players... I can also talk as a tourist, but... let it go.

Back to transfers police, can't understand whats our plan. Our budget is small, ok... So, why not do what these Portuguese clubs do in Brazil? They come here, buy amazing young players(some far from a project) for less than 10M every season, and after 1 or 2 years, they are with gold on their hands.

I know we have the non-EU spots problem, but whats the problem of to buy a young David Luiz's or Sidney's and send them to a middle club in Italy? After one season, they are free to Serie A(Inter do/did it a lot), and worth 2x the money invested.

Pride? Because in the past we only bought champions? If so, why are we buying young players that did nothing at professional level in others leagues?

If we can't compete with Chelsea, R. Madrid, Barça anymore(our transfer police is the laugh of Europe right now), swallow the pride and let's do what Portuguese clubs always do, come here with 15M(sometimes less) and buy 2 great young players(with professional experience at a big club) for this money.

If they shine, sell one of them to the Florentino's or Abramovich's of Europe, keep the other and do the same next season. The team make money and fortify the squad.

What we can not do anymore is, to stay in this limbo, boasting greatness, if we can't compete in the market anymore... and more astonishing, all this bragging and only taking free transfers. To be clear, if the free's are good, I do not have nothing against it.

I just want a freak decision!! Or we are big or middle(transfers wise), for God sake!! It's not that hard

It's time for him to go from Wolfsburg. He clearly wants to go.

And it wasn't his night, he broke up with his girl yesterday or today.

Anyway, Wolfsburg played like sh.t, no movement, nothing, he was easily the best player in the team, after Benaglio...

And no player is worth 40 M, but that's how it is. We sold half player Kaka is now for 60 M to Real...

Could not agree more. The world is not free of good players for cheap. Just proper scouting gets them.

Let's look at 3 of most promising youngsters in europe. Pjanic, Pastore, Jovetic.

Pjanic- bought from Metz @ 18 for almost 8 mil, showed serious promise
Jovetic- Offered to milan (but Milan bought Digao instead ) by Savicevic, went to fiorentina for 7 mil
Pastore- Argentine player of year, 8 mil again

And these r semi-high profile cases. These were all kids who are unlikely to lose value. Now each of them will garner 25 mil when they are sold. Maybe more

For every Neymar, Eden Hazard or in Milans own hands Pato, there r dozens of youngsters who cost very little, who with propery coaching/training can become world beaters too. Face it, not everyone is Ronaldo at 18.

IMO Galliani and Braida probably should go, scouting and directors are letting the club down more than anyone. Extending Gattuso (after he insulted manager and club) instead of using his position to bring in future. Are we just gonna play all the senators till they are 40?

I know stats don't tell the whole story and I'll admit Chamakh is a slightly better player but not enough to really justfy making him milan's new CF signing. Keep in mind Borriello did it in Serie A
I don't really like Chamakh and don't want him in Milan, I was just replying to Mrki ...

About his stats:
- Chamakh isn't a real striker. I don't know if the word "pivot" has a meaning in English. Just remember Gilardino in 2007. The guy was just there to give space to Kaka', well, Chamakh is there to give space to Gourcuff. He would be more suited to a 2-striker formation by playing as the second striker.
- Ligue 1 is a league with teams having ultra-defensive tactics ...

I didn't try to defend Chamakh, but he will surely score more in England.

Both brasilians did very well today vs L'pool, its not their foult Benfica is out.
David Luiz is clearly a player that has brains and power. But brains is what we need here in Milan, as great teams and great defences were alwaya built on brains and smart players, not raw power.

If Milan has any money to invest into a serious defender, I suggest we invest into player that can play as a CB and as a FB. Something like D.Luiz...

About your questions about our absurd mercato moves ( or the lack of any real work ): Brasiliero my friend, as much as you follow young brasilian players, I follow Milan's managment moves

As every job, you need to WORK to actually acheve something great. In Milans past they did work ( plus Silvio was here in the club and his money was also here when it was needed even for the small things and small players that were not needed, but the misses were not counted coz Milan was too rich for that! ), but people get spoiled and corrupt ( in meaning of getting worse in what you do ) with money. Its not strange what is happening in Milan. Once Moggi said that Juve's mercato's were the best coz "we work more then the others", Nedved also said that he never saw someone works so much in the club like in the old Juve ( Im speaking about old Juve coz what Moggi and co. did with mercato was, in my oppinion, the best Europe ever had ). Moggi also said he never spent a dollar from owners, but by selling and trading players. Do not say now how Moggi had his agents etc., besides everything Moggi and co. hardly ever missed with transfers, and always created carefully and precisly.

Galliani cannot run the football club. Galliani can run an economic firm. After the huge money investments from Berlusconi stopped, Galliani is not capable of doing anything inside italy for any player ( connections within the clubs were probably based on " we pay as much as you ask" ), every player we bought from Brasil was from Leo and by Leo, all the big free players came coz we payed wages even Barca didnt pay ( untill we ran out of money 2 years ago and now we need to make paycuts of course ). Its easy to work with money, little harder without it - you need to WORK more. I hope you understand what Im trying to say without being too direct.

They do not work, they do not behave professionally towards the future of Milan ( invested in primavera after 10 years of niglection(sp?) ). Inter made contact with Pandev in september, we in january... Noone trusts our scouts, they do their job for nothing. Our mercato starts june, while it should last for 12 months. Galliani cannot lead Milan further, he is done with that job, and is no longer capable of creating great squad with his wrok. Only with money. And that is not enough.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently Gerrard was saying how Reina can be a great captain etc. after the Birmingham game... have you heard about it? If Gerrard is to be sold... Him behind Pato and Benzema. Which leads us to the point where Im gonna say Benzema is better player then Dzeko and we need to go for him if its possible. Dont mind his failure in Madrid, its normal, he is still a brilliant young CF.

Like many fans here, i want big name signings and i want milan to spend big, but reality is far from this. we need a total make over and i read fans screaming for dzeko who will probably cost 30+ mil. Offcourse i would love dzeko to play for us but in the 30 mil we are going to spend we can rebuild our team in a good smart way.

we need 8 players and we don't know how much money the management is allowed to spend for next year (23rd of April is budget announcement for next year).

with our new approach of doing buisness, there is no way we can go for players who cost more than 15 mil, we will probably looking for free or cheap players, leonardo is asking for control over transfers but i don't think galliani and braida will let that happen. personally i would love leonardo to take care of our transfers but requesting a player like maldonado is just stupid, we are going to have the janku story all over again, this player can't defend. if we are doomed to buy cheap/free player then let it be but let us go for useful players not replacing the dead wood with dead wood, with the kind of football we are playing we need versatile players

i read alot of bashing for the decision of signing yepes, but no one mentioned that chievo are 2nd best defence in serie A (31 goals just like milan), this player is very able and very strong physically and can play... as long as he is useful why not signing him.

its almost certain that kaladze, janku, favali and oddo are leaving at the end of the season so we got yepes who is better than the 3 defenders combined together, i don't know about gooch but i read that he did not prove him self at milan which is laughable, Gooch can't play football, maybe american football but for sure not the kind of football they play in serie A.

Astori is highly regarded in itlay but honestly i dont know why, i did not see a good player in him i saw him in 2 matches already and he did not do one thing to be better than kaladze, we can always trade his 50% plus cash for canini, bonucci, zapata, boccetti, kjaer, santacroce ... etc

for left back we really need to get a left back here, Antonini is having a good season but it will be better if he is played on the right which is natural foot position, my pick goes for Taiwo, this guy is really impressive and he can come cheap (max 10 mil, last year contract so its better than losing him for free next year) we can have our own maicon on the left side of the pitch. we can also sign eboue who can play at any position on the right side, he is free and can cover for midfield too.

in midfield we need alot of work first we need to ship gattuso to england then find a permanent solution for pirlo (please no more 30 meters chip passes, it does not work not even on the counter attack) so or we get him a box to box midfielder like Nocerino, Kwando Asamoah, Song ... etc, this way we will have Box to box midfielder Pirlo Flamini. Or we ship him to england so he can be with careltto again and buy D’Agostino/Hernanez to fill the void in the middle. seedorf should go (4 mil is way too much for him) we can sign simplico for Am, and we can use storari card to land Poli from sampdoria

Attack is the least of our concern Dzeko is a dream signing but not a solution for an aging, slow and old squad, i say we cash on the hunter in order to finance other operations and bring in a free striker like adriano/Kuranyi (sp?)
scored 18/17 goals in their leagues. release pipo and call in paloschi as 4th striker and get cacu for pato/ronnie rotation

this is not a WC squad but this way we have more pace, depth, relatively young and hungry squad that leo wants

in: Storari or 2nd GK, Eboue, taiwo, Young 3rd Choice cb who is willing to accept a bench role while maturing, Yepes, devito, D’Agostino/Hernanez (if pirlo go) Nocerino/Kwando Asamoah/Song/poli (if pirlo stays) Simplico, cacu, Kuranyi

out: dida, storari(if poli comes), oddo, kaladze, janku, gattuso, seedorf, hunter and pipo

abbiati, storari or back up goal keeper, roma

antonini eboue zambrotta Rb
Tawio zambrotta de vito Lb

Nesta, Thiago, 3rd Cb, Yepes, Bonera CB

eboue, flamini, pirlo or (D’Agostino/Hernanez if pirlo left) (Nocerino/Kwando Asamoah/Song if pirlo stays) abate, poli and simplicio MF

Pato, Ronnie, Borriello, Kuranyi, Cacu and Paloschi

Abbiati
Antonini--nesta--silva--Tawio

Flamini--pirlo--Nocerino/Kwando Asamoah/Song

Pato--Borriello--Ronaldinho

OR

Abbiati
Antonini--nesta--silva--Tawio

Flamini---D’Agostino/Hernanez----Ambrosini/Simplicio/poli

Pato--Borriello--Ronaldinho

To Brasileiro, MIlan can't do what Benfica or Porto or other clubs are doing in Brazil is simply b/c they just don't have the connections with clubs in Brazil or any other clubs. On top of that, they don't trust their scouts, as the players we mentioned will need about 5-9mil and thats a huge investment on players who is unknown to them.

Personally, Milan is a sinking ship, as it will need more than one or two great signings to improve the club. Having said that, it will be a start and send the message to the existing players and in coming players that they are heading the right directions.

You can be optimistic about all the youth Milan has all you want, but if they are really any good, most of them should be playing in the first team instead of the youth team.

Yepes does add depth, but to me a 34 free agent having a career year is really someone Milan can't count on too much. After all, he is playing his hearts out for a good contract before retirement. NOw that he got it, it will be interesting to see how he performs next year.

We've been linked to Ederson of Lyon again today as apparently Galliani really likes him. I read this goal.com

I don't necessarily blame Galliani and Braida. They've made plenty of mistakes, but much of our problems come from our lack of funds. Let's face it, had we had the money, we'd be talking about Cissokho, Dzeko and probably Hernanes in Milan this season, three players who were really needed this season.
