Kaka won't stick to that wing...he's used to and should be given a free role. Seedorf the same. We just don't have the players for a flat 4-4-2.

There's nothing wrong with the 4-3-1-2 IMO, we just need the 4 midfielders to both attack and defend. We're lacking that balance at the moment. I miss seeing Kaka playing behind two strikers...he was soooo much better then.

I'd rest Zambrotta if I could but we have 3 LB's and only 1 RB :|. Unless you wanna count Bonera as an RB but then we'd be lacking CB's. Wow. Maldini cannot start two games in a row though so Bonera has to play CB this game...unless Kaladze is fit ?

My team: Abbiati; Bonera, Senderos, Kaladze, Antonini; Flamini, Cardacio, Seedorf; Kaka; Borriello, Pato.

At around 60th minute, introduce Ambrosini for Seedorf cuz he won't be able to run anymore. Also Dinho for Kaka because we don't wanna rush him back. Our secret weapon $heva will be saved til the last game of the season so he's fresh and no one known what to expect. Wouldn't mind giving Darmian a run out if possible...maybe for Senderos since he isn't 100% fit ?

Of course Kaka and Seedorf wont stick to that wing. They have played in these positions (I forget against which team) and they played very well (they also changed their position each other). Plus they had free role while attacking. With 4-4-2 Kaka and Seedorf, they have fixed position to help the defence and it will be easier for them to help the defence by covering the flanks.

Forget about kaka,Seedorf,Dinho,Pato defending...wont happened. They are not those type of players(seedorf used to be), They can do some zonal marking but nothing beyond that.

They are no Camoranesi, nedved, jaquinta ...they are natural in doing that...thats why Juve plays high pressure in the opponents half. they can do it. I remeber Tony mentioning this ones also.

I also saw Inter doing that now, due to Jose`s tactics, he always favors that, he did that in Chelse and Porto.

I also think that roma used to do that really good, with both Mancini and taddei pressuring the opponents from their halfs. Not sure about that now, since I havent seen them yet.

Bottom line is that, we never did that, nor we will do it. Is it carlo or simply the inability of our attackers to defend, thats beyond me.

Of course they won't defend like DM or defenders. What I mean is that they have to help the defence. They can press the opponent who has the ball, cover his area like you said. Every player has ability to defend, just like to attack.

Madrid strikers (Raul and Robinho at that time) under Schuster had to help the defence (they played as flank forwards in 4-3-3 formation), every single player in Arsenal have to do this also including Adebayor, Ibrahimovic had the same job when Mancini coached Inter, etc. So, it will happen if Carlo tell them to do so.

It depends on Carlo. In my opinion, this is one of the solution to fix the defence. We don't have reliable central defender plus we have Jankulovski who is not good at defence. Tho help them is by playing in unity. 4-4-2 can also make the defence better IMO.

I don't think I need to respond to your questions really; even the most Carlo-hated supporters here will see that you are carrying a bit too far.
If you take into consideration of how Barca was turned from a Uefa Cup team into a Champions League winner, I think Rijkaard would have an atleast the potential to successfully takeover from Carlo right? Yes he had problems with Dinho before but it is possible for players and coaches to just get along for the best of the team right? i.e M.V.B & Nistelrooy for Holland..

Yes Carlo did good in the past, but the past also holds hints that the future might be bleak for us again does it not? i.e last year? For those people who thinks that it was Carlo who brought us the Champs League, it was actually KaKa who did 70% Kaka, 29% Benitez error taking out Mascherano + 1% Carlo just for selecting Kaka to play that match. With Kaka's form in football, it really shouldn't take a genius to play him whenever possible. With the team that lost in the Final @ Istanbul, it is considered a humiliation isnt it? Blowing a 3 goal lead.. He actually did worse before in La Coruna didn't he?..

Ok; I agree that Rijkaard can potentially be a good replacement.

And if you put Carlo to blame for blowing the 3 goal lead from Istanbul, I really have NOTHING much to say. If you are conjuring evidence up against why we should sack Ancelotti, we can easily come up with 1000 reasons.

And vice versa:

So why not we say that he actually managed to bounce back to win it in 2007 (in a way - alas - not so beautiful as the one at Istanbul?)

Oh wait, then you'll say it's all Kaka`; this is classic example. When Milan wins, it's because of one individual, be it Inzaghi or Kaka`. When the team lost, it's the coach's fault. It's not Gattuso's fault for fouling, it's not Dida's fault for not saving the second goal.

Listen: If you want to look for a reason to sack Ancelotti, you have a thousand reasons. If you want to look for a reason to sack any coach, you have a thousand reasons as well.

AND: If you want to look for a weakness in a person, you can always find one, ANY, in the past.

But that doesn't help at all, because it doesn't say ANYTHING about the future. And that's why your first point is much stronger than ANY point you raise that we should sack Ancelotti.

The only reason that Ancelotti should be sacked is that he had no confidence from his players ANYMORE, and I'm not in a position to judge that.

You tell me.

i started this and i have to be more specific i respect ancelotti as a person hes nice guy but i have any right to critisise hes work as a coach i am not saying he is the man in blame that milan is on crisis i am just gave some some points before why i think he is not a world class coach "ancelotti have huge potencial to succeed what capelo did" is your personal opinion not a general truth i think if you ask 10 football fans the 7 of them they will tell you that he is just mediocraty

I honestly have nothing more to say. Winning the CL twice doesn't happen very often, especially given his age. Yet he is medicore.

But of course: Ddonadoni was the risky choice but why not so Italy got him and played terrible in Euro 2008.

But why not, right? whatever.

Its probably one of the major factors why defense has flopped big times, and dont you think that Carlo has tried it.It simply doesnt work with our attackers I guess.

I don't think he's really tried. He only tried to use more defensive tactic (using more defensive midifelders : playing 3 DM including Pirlo). The only game I remember that Milan played as unity (all players are responsible to defend and to attack) is against MU.

With poor-defensive attacking midfielders like Kaka and R80 and lazy Seedorf, Carlo must have good DMs and fullbacks and excellent DC plus decent GK. He only (up-to-date) has 1 good DM (Flamini), 1 goold fullback (Zambrotta) and none excellent DC and none decent GK (I don't count Abbiati, he should at least saved one of the two goals vs Bologna to be decent GK).

With all those missing players (DCs, fullback and GK), Milan must to play as unity in my deep opinion.

EDIT : With only 3 midfielders in the midfield and very bad AM at defensive, 4-4-2 can help the team's defence IMO. Kaka and Seedorf will have more simple task (like you said zonal marking for example) to help the defence, compare to 4-3-2-1.

I would play:

---------------Abbiati----------------
-Zambrotta--Bonera--Kaladze--Antonini-
----Flamini---Ambrosini---Cardaccio----
----------------Kaka-----------------
----------Boriello------Pato-----------

Resting Zambrotta would be a good idea but they decided to loan out our only other RB in Oddo, so Zambrotta is going to have to play alot. I'd keep Ambrosini in the middle as the defensive midfielder, while Flamini & Cardaccio either side of him will give the midfield the energy it needs. You don't need a playmaker deep in the middle, Flamini & Cardaccio will be the links to the attackers (as will the full backs). Kaka can play behind 2 strikers for once and this time we play our best 2 strikers in Boriello & Pato.

The rest of them can fight it out on the bench which would probably be:

Kalac, Jankulovski, Senderos, Emerson, Seedorf, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko

Agreed with Jim about the formation, except I think Kaka will be rested after playing the whole 90mins in his first game after coming back from injury. i'd put Dinho instead of him. And one more thing, I think Carletto will give Dida/Kalac a chance to start

calciomercato:
-----------dida----------
-antonini-kaladze-senderos-marek-
-----------emerson-----
----flamini----ambrosini--
------kaka'---seedorf---
---------boriello-------

Why Dida? So that Abbiatti who looks great can REST? Now Antonini, and not against Genova as LB? 3 DM again against ZURICH? No PAto ( they are killing the boy!)

According to calciomercato, now they arent satisfied with Sheva and Dinho and they need to train more ( the blind man could see that Sheva cant run...). We behave like amateurs, and this lineup is disgusting to see!

PLAY PATO!
