AC Milan vs. Barca (1/2 CL, 1st leg)

hmmmmm! I have started to hate ronaldinho!

I wasn't lucky enuff to watch the game; I followed it on the internet posts, and as you guys know you can never get the feel of a game by not watching it. can somebody who is not a defeatist please explain objectively, whether we truly, can take positives from this match,and going into the next. Because i'm getting alot of mixed messages from the posts, that we were totally outplayed and outclassed?

One thing that was in evidence though was how little 'impact' players we have on the bench. We have muscle and graft players, but no one pacy or with skill to make a difference.

An even game with even chances. So if they could win in Italy.....why can't we win in Spain? I am really pissed but haven't lost faith. It should not matter then we play in Spain. Our players are professionals with a lot of experience and they should not be affected by the fact that the game is going to be on Nou Camp....just like Barca wasn't affected by the San Siro. It is very simple now, although not easy. We have to win. It is the only result that will take us to Paris. If we win by scoring more then one goal.....then even better. I really believe that we can do it. These type of teams like Barca and Milan are equal and all they need is one chance to be converted. Tonight, it was them who did it, even though we had the chances to do it ourselves. Next week lets hope it will be our turn.

totally outplayed and outclasses is no way near.

If you want to get the feeling, it's like 3-0 up against LIverpool and then got catch up. Maybe the feeling is not as worse as that, but bad enough. In both situation, Milan didn't play all that bad, (and of course, no way near 'outplay' and 'outclass'), but Barca did well and scored.

Interms of REAL GOAL-SCORING chances, Milan has at least 3, with plenty of offside from Gila and Sheva (you get really frstruated to see Ref stopping the game every single time not just for offside but also when Milan wants to pull a fast attack, it's disgusting). Barca got 1, and they scored, while Gila hit the post and Sheva's header was saved. Unlucky? Not your day? It's up to you to explain.

It will be very difficult for Milan to win in Nou camp, speaking from a psychological point of view, especially we dont' see Milan losing AT HOME. The fact that Milan was no way inferior to Barca and yet lost showed that sometimes soccer is just that unfair.

p.s.: Ronaldinho hit the post but Milan was suffering from 'lax' (what I use to call the 6-minute lack of concentration against Liverpool).

by the end we played equally well! just our finishing was bad! seedorf, kala, pirlo did not do well! Dida as usual, terrorising our goal! he is not as attentive as he used to be! Barca played well but did not outplay or outperform us! we just had a bad piece of luck! Pippo's return shud give a big boost! PIPPPPPPPPPPPPPO I have never missed u as much i did today!

Our midfield suck, now it's unignorable truth. The only guy there that did something was Kaka, and only in the end. Pirlo, Seedorf and Gattuso were weak.
As I said before what was that stupid back line? Sh*t... it should be Cafu-Nesta-Stam-Maldini from the beginning.... now we need a miracle. The goal was both Kaladze and Dida's fault. Sheva was maybe the best player, Gila missed to chances.
Our biggest problem that our players don't believe in themselves, u could see it tonight. Now we should win the Messina game, it maybe more important than the second leg in Camp-Nou.
Now tell me people, if we lose both Scudetto and the CL, what's the point of Carlo's contract extension?

Too bad Gilardino was unlucky with that shot that hit the post early on. That would have made the game for us I think.

It's disappointing to see that we concede a goal in a match where we had so good control defensively, but that's what can happen against a great team like Barcelona. You can't afford to lose eyesight of the attackers even for a split second...

Our team looks tired. Key players like Pirlo, Kaka and Shevchenko didn't have the best of games. I hope they will get some rest before the game in Barcelona. It looks really difficult now, and we really need to score the first goal in Barcelona or else we're surely out I think.

And guys, why the hell are you blaming Dida? Where did he ever come into the picture? Do you think that another goal keeper can easily save that goal? Com'on, be fair. He saved our ass today more than letting a goal in.

Rosso6, my take of things is that the first half was evenly balanced. They had a couple of shots that Dida saved comfortably ... we hit the post and forced Valdes into a half-decent block. There was nothing between either team.

The first part of the second half we sat back far too much allowing their players to pick and choose their passes a little easier. A simple run by Giuly got the better of Kaladze and Nesta and he finished with power. This forced us to attack a bit more which left gaps at the back and Ronaldinho hit the post. For about 20-25 mins they had the ball and were controlling everything. Then we came back into it slightly and had some good chances to score. Kaka woke up and done a few neat turns to work openings, Kaka squared in the box when he should have shot, Ambrosini had so much time but dragged wide, Maldini headed straight at Valdes, Kaka fired wide twice, nothing really came off for us. They didn't outclass us though, far from it. They didn't offer much at all, but then maybe that was because they were away from home ?

Good for the team that won.

Now, we paid for the mistakes that the club has done, when you are down
0-1 and you field in Ambrossini and Maldini, then something is wrong with the bench.


Another thing, Barcelona, is not the beast every one thinks, thats what we saw tonight, have Milan had a different transfer policy, not necessarily the Billions policy of teams like Real or Barca or Chelsea, we can any tournament, there is a hell of professionalism and mentality in Milan that no other team would rival.
