I know what you mean. The way sentences are structured in English compared to many (if not most) other languages is very different.

About Ronaldinho, I understand what Rae is trying to say. No doubt he is the best player in the world today, and he has every right to vote for who he thinks is the best player and not a player from his favourite team. But if you look at what both of them half done, not only last season, you'll know that Sheva has done way more than Ronaldinho at a higher level of competition. So for me, it would be fair to say that Sheva deserves this.

So sad though Paolo couldn't get it last season, especially when the results were on the news on my birthday that Crapved had won. And then this year, not even one defender was in the top three. Shows how much defenders are valued in football today. It makes it even crappier to know that they were concentrating on honoring goalkeepers when they gave the MVP for 02/03 to Gigi Buffon!!! On the bright side, at least it shows how good Paolo really was .

Anywayz, I have no reason to sulk now. Congrats Lo Tzar!!!

IMO you are wrong. The thing Dinho has made noone can repete. He revived Barca form faint club to mighty one. Sheva had no opportunites to do that and proove his superiority, because Milan was always great team.

He didn't do it alone. Rijkaard has to take credit to bringing Barcelona back to form. And if you remember Ronaldinho was out for the first half of last season. Up to about mid season it was Davids who kept the alive. Wheras Sheva has always been here for us for the whole of the past season when he brought us to the championship and is still going strong in this season. There is no evidence to say that Ronaldinho has done more than Sheva.

He is a great player I have never once doubted that from the time I saw him. But Sheva deserves this trophy in every respect and giving it to someone else would be an insult to him and everything he has achieved. He was already the best striker in the world since he came out before his injury about 3-4 seasons back. Though the critics have left it a little late, Sheva has at last gotten his recognition. Ronaldinho, on the other hand, is still young and has plenty of opportunity to win this and the FIFA award multiple times, so there is nothing to worry about.

Besides, this award has been undermined by many of our fans especially since they didn't give it to Maldini who deserved it way more than Nedved. What matters is that these players get respect from fellow members of the soccer communty and fans on the street who know they are great, these awards are superficial.

Ronaldinho hasn't won anything over the past 12 months and as mentioned earlier in this post it was Davids arrival that turned Barca's season around. Ronaldinho didn't play for Brazil in the Copa America and hasn't been better than either Kaka' and Ronaldo in the qualifiers. Shevchenko doesn't have good players around him at international level so his achievements for the Ukraine deserve greater recognition.

I could understand voting for Ronaldinho if the voting was between Ronaldinho and something like Seedorf (inconsistent) but if you're a Milan supporter you support your own players especially when they have done so much for the club.

Anway Shevchenko has won the most prestigious award, the Ballon D'or, everyone knows the FIFA award is a joke.
