Lyon VS Milan

For those that do not know, the game will be played on Tue/Wed 28/29 March, not this week.

very hard game and am happy about that cuz that will proove to the world that milan is the best team alive not barca,juve,lyon or chelsea.

duno why but 4-3-3 is very usfel vs italians which is a disadvantage
example:-
Milan VS PSV
Inter VS Ajax
Milan VS Barca (dont deny it that played on us like training)
Juve VS Werderbremen
Udnise VS Barca

the only way these teams were defeted by single talent sheva,kaka,adriano and nedved.

so we need spaces for sheva,kaka, and serginho.
i see a win on both grounds but a very hard win with a bit of luck. am not saying that they won't score.
another disadvantge kaladze,nesta,gatuso, and stam comit near fouls and they have juninho and he is very dang. in free kicks in 35m and after.

another wiltord moves in the serginho,seedorf zone which is the attack is very high so he can move more freely in counter attacks and carew is taller than nesta and kaladze.

we need to grasp those points to win the 2 games.

I rate Lyon very, very highly ... actually I think they are a more dangerous opponent than both Barca and Juve but I have this feeling that it would be a far easier game for us than anyone thinks. Some gut feeling tells me that Lyon will crush under the pressure of high expectations and we will have an easier than expected ride in this CL round.

I dont think it'll be a tough game. Lets hope we can beat them by 2 goals in the first leg.

Perhaps, but you should know that expectations in Lyon are not as big as they were last year or the season before. There are no "we are the better team" announcements any more. They play without the imperative of qualifying in the semis this time and with the quality they have, it makes them twice as dangerous.

The one clear thing is : Lyon players are aware of their quality but they still know that they have to prove themselves to the world at the highest level ( CL 1/4 , 1/2 and finals). This Milan generation has done it few times, and the motivation is certanly higher in France than in Milan.
That's why, i think that the tactics we used in Munich are the best way to get out of France with a good result. Lets drop the creativity for the first match. Lets use 2 fighters in midfield ( Gattuso with Ambro/Vogel) and lets try to slow the game. If i remember correctly, that's exactly what Mourinho did with Porto in Lyon 2 years ago, and it worked.
Yes, playing bravely and attacking in Lyon may bring us the result, but there is a huge possibility that if we play like that, we'll have the same destiny as another team who tried to do that in Lyon ----Real Madrid !
If we play defensively in first half and keep a clean sheet, it will make Lyon nervous, and Milan are the masters of playing against such teams.

No matter how strong Lyon is we will handle them very well and sme will be suprised how good! Milan are masters when they play strong teams. They suffer more with smaller teams inseatd with teams like Lyon or Bayern.

I'm sure Anceloti will use the same tactic as the first game in Bayern: only possesin of the ball and counter attack meanwhile at San Siro the game plan is always offensive!

In this game i see a tie or maybe a win for Lyon by 1 goal but at San Siro, Lyon will be shocked!

Im sorry but...I dont see any reason why it could be an easy game. Lyon plays brilliantly at home. Juninho is not playing, and that is great for us, im sure we can draw or even win it if we play tight in the middle and slow down the tempo. We can even win it if Pirlo and Seedorf play 100% well. But to beat them by 2 goals in away game....im not sure about that. Lets hope noone gets injured against Fiuorentina and than release Pippo&sheva&kaka' on them!

Please, does anyone know if this game will be shown on PP Live? I'm thinking of ditching part of school that day but its not worth it if it turns out that I can't watch the game

i will know that at the beginning of next week. right now I don't have any schedules plus even if I did have them, chances are things would change by the day of the game, as it often happens.

im sure the game will be on one of this channels: deporte1,2,3 , OL TV, sportmania, TPS.... maybe ecven france 1,2,3.....

Personally, I think the Lyon match is going to be even tougher that the Barsa one. Lyon displays an amazing atacking football and have proved to be capable of beating any European team both, home and away. Barcelona plays the best football at the moment but that doesn't necessarily make them champions. Avanti Milan!

who has Lyon beat in recent years? Real Madrid? Who hasnt beaten them! they are always lucky with their draws to tell you the truth.. this will be the first time lyon face a big european team..

We will win this game hopefully but we must not think we already won it. Im hoping for a Benfica miracle against Barca. Our game will be played this Wednesday, am i correct?

I reckon we'll win the away leg 2 - 1, they are athletic, organised and very capable players but Milan are better in every area of the pitch

What gets my is Lyon hammered PSV last round and we struggled against PSV in the group stages not winning in both games i know Vieri started one leg but still, Lyon we be a very difficult opponent to get past but with Shevchenko on form and Nesta and Kaladze tight at the back am quietly confident but it will have to be our best performance up to now in the champions league if we are to advance to a even harder task.
