Okay... you alsotalked about maximizing in another thread. How do we do this??? The lineup in both the Lecce and Lyon game IMO wasnt maximizing. Could we have done it differently knowing all that we know now with the revelation of Juve's predicament??? At this point scudetto is a reach but let us not think of losing anymore points. So back to maximizing... I'll tell you this isnt in my scope of knowledge. I do think that, as I said couple of sentences earlier, we should have some of the big boys play at least one half of the Inter game. Maybe we ought to try and go balls out for the ealy goal and all man behind ball defence the rest game??? I dont know??? That is why faith is what I depend on when it comes to this team as the technical side of the game is a clue to me. I have the eye to know momentum and trends so the Lecce loss disturbed me on many fronts. One of those fronts was the way we played Lyon. Elated at the win but also concerns about the team momentum. Thankfully the Chievo game was a promising indication the trend isnt as abd as I thought.
In a hope to being more diplomatic to my fellow MM members, I'm willing to lend an ear to your folks advice to the coach. I talk about faith so maybe I should also be faithful to some of you folk's counsel. I'd be more receptable to hearing opinions this time around.

u r right, we did have problems in trying to dictate our play in the Lyon game, and thats a worry fact.. but for some reason, i dont feel worried about it.. maybe because i just feel that Lyon was such a good team that they succeeded in not letting us dictate the play.. i dont think we will face a team as strong as Lyon any more this season, so good physically and technically..

well, although it counts for nothing, my opinion is shared with most, i say rest some starters, in particular pirlo and seedorf, and give players like Cafu, Kaka and Sheva a half each. i think we can still beat inter without our starters cuz we are a class above them, especially in recent weeks.. i hope that we can attack hard in the beginning, get a goal or two, then sit back and play on counter with an x-mas tree formation, given that their attack has been so terrible lately..

i think this is the lineup that we will see:

Dida
Simic-Kaladze-Nesta-Jankulovski
Ambro - Vogel - Gattuso <-- Very solid, but no creativity at all
Rui Costa
Pippo(or Serginho alongside Rui) - Gila

I even think one of our central defenders should play ne half, kaladze first nesta second, and let maldini the whole game

Hmmm... I'm split inthe Christmas tree formation with Gila alone from the one with 2 strikers Gila&Pippo. Do we need Serginho in this match??? Personally I think we do. Or Rui is going to have to play one of his best games like... ever??? I think he's been more unlucky rather than lacking in form so maybe this be his game of the season. When do we do the 1-2-3-4-Keeper formation??? !st half or in the last 45min??? Or do we start 2-1-3-4-Keeper and get an early goal, save Serginho for the next match and maybe use Mazzoratti as a fifth defender in place of Pippo??? We then must hang on and hope the other side doesnt equalize. I dont know??? It is still ringing in my head to get the goal early and just play everyone behind the ball after that. I dont like it though as it isnt too solid and it will be boring if we do that. Inter could still score a goal or two also. Okay Hitmannq8 you got the formation set inmy head. What about the strategy??? Early goal or do we play it out???

We lost some grip against Lyon in miudfield simply becouse Lyon's midfield is strong as hell. Specially Diarra,Juninho,Malouda. With tough players like that we were losing many duels and kaka' couldnt develop his game becouse of a brilliant display by Diarra. Against Barca we will face faster players, but less phisical, so we can work more on power than we could do against Lyon. So we need players as fresh as we can, aldough, I think Carlo will put strongest 11 against Inter. We can also draw and than inter is still 2 points behind. My lineup........

After 60/70 minutes, Cafu will go out for Simic or Billy, Serginho for MAldini and Seedorf for Ambrosini r Marek. Im sure sheva,kaka and pirlo can play 2 hard matches in a row. Its important we score first goal, so we have no nned tpo rush and loose more power. We will need CAfu for Barca, and ha said he can be ready, we'll see if he will play against Inter, I thinkj he will. Lets just hope anyone doesnt get injured.

I think we are playing this match against Inter at a pretty good time, other than the fact that it is right before Barca. Inter is full of distractions right now. First their own players were attacking each other. Then the fans were attacking their own team!

(I think this is disgusting. Even though they are atacking Inter players I still hate to see this happen. How can they attack their own players? Remember when Milan came back from Istanbul, even though it was very sad, our players still got an ovation for their efforts. But they are Inter fans after all, the most miserable fans on the planet.)

Now, back to my point. Mancini said that he has had enough with Italy and wants to go elsewhere. I don't know whether all of this will inspire them to beat us or lead them to fall apart, but with all the ditractions in their team I would put my money on Inter falling apart.

BTW did anyone hear about the Vatican being upset at the match being on Good Friday?

Yes, he is, with 56 goals, the only record he has to beat is the top scorer in european cups one, wich has Gerd Muller on top, i think, if i remember right.
