i think he is the right type of player to go for, however, we certainly will need to add a goal scoring midfielder to the team as I am worried about where goals will come from next season.

But with Pipo, Kaka, Gila, and Seedorf chipping in with a goal here or there...why worry? The majority of our goals came from our forwards (including Kaka) and very few, if any, from Rui Costa...so no problems as far as I see it...

Plus, who says he cant/wont score goals? Do you remember how many Rui scored for the Viola when he was playing for them?

Rennes' President confirms that Milan has made an official offer for Gourcuff in the amount of 3.5 mil euros. He also says that Rennes are still evaluating the offer and that the player could remain on loan at Rennes from Milan for an additional year.

Pretty nice deal, I think. The Q is who would sub Rui if Gourcuff does stay in France for one more year? Maybe Fiore?

That's bloody awful... we need new players RIGHT NOW, not on 2008/2009 season...

Now this is more like it! Back to your usual pragmatic/pessimistic/hard to please self!

(Just to let you know, the sun is finally out after almost 7 days of nonstop rain..so, thanks are in order GRE-NO-LI!!!)

Now, relax, the silly season is just starting, and it may be that we are willing to let Gourcoff stay in France because we want Foggia more, or Berlu et al have something else up their sleeve...

So, until we have something definitive...take it easy bro!!

Honestly, I really enjoy this silly transfer rumors season.

Since all of us will instantly become experts, myself included, then at the end of the day, we all will love Milan and wish them well, even if the signing is only Favalli.

Warro, you should have come to the UK this week, it's been very hot here

This deal of loaning him back sounds perfect. Lets face it, how many of us here knew how good he was before we were first linked with him ? Hardly any of us i bet. If it means we get him for £2.5 million, then loaning him back is the way to go. Imagine if he does turn out to be a fantastic talent, £2.5 million is a steal !

I think this agreement, if accepted, suits everyone perfectly.

yeah, one more year of maturity already knowing he belongs to Milan could do him well... Foggia is also young, but has played in Serie A... this doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have him now...

If the guy has talent, just bring him in. United bought C Ronaldo and played him when he was 17 or 18, if this Yourcuff is good we must bring him and play him instantly, Barca did the same with Messi. BTW we must also bring Foggia back.

This is what I have read as officially disclosed on www.channel4.com :

Milan have made Rennes an offer for midfield starlet Yoann Gourcuff, the French Ligue 1 club have revealed.

The 19-year-old has been linked with the Rossoneri who are ready to pay up to around £2.5m for the youngster.

And now Rennes have confirmed that the French playmaker is a summer transfer target for the San Siro outfit.

"With regard to Yoann, we had the ambition to keep him here for a long time and to make him a symbol of the club and the public," chief Emmanuel Cueff told the club's official website.

"We received an official proposal from Milan and we are studying with them the possibility of a one-year loan after the immediate transfer."

So...that is written that will be done......and now who is the striker Milan will bid for?????
This is more crucial and important issue than Gourcuff....
