He means the link on the milanmania.com front page, I think he means that it is pointless to have a link to the FdL page considering they have broken up.

Maybe we could have an image gallery, we could take the images from Yahoo Sports Gallery, unless that is some sort of a copyright breach. We could also have a section on ultras choreographies, I have plenty of pics on my PC.

And no, Rahul, I don't usually have access to gossip about the team/players b/c that's not his department. Once in a whuile he'll tell me stuff that he's been told or has found out, like he told me about the Shev conference as it was happening and explained to me what was going on.

And yes, zzZZZzz, he does sometimes read the forum. He's even told some of the players about it, this was a long time ago so I don't know who might remember it, you just never know. The fact that someone in management knows aobut us is one reason I will not stand for any sort of threats to Milan players, past or present!!!!! We don't need to be hauled into court, slapped with any sort of litigation, or ordered to shut down over stuff like that!

The interesting thing is, when Angelo and I first met online and in fact up uintil just 2 or 3 seasons ago, he was an Inter fan. Had been born into an Inter family, the poor man. Then...he switched! One day while we were chatting he announced he had left those losers Inter and realized that Milan was a much better team, and ever since he talks just like I do when I speak of the team.."we did well", "We can't score anymore..", that sort of thing. And BTW, even he has to point out that we longer know how to score, we have no decent forwards....

I have a crazy idea to create a podcast aswell as the news, i think it will be very different thing to do! (been listening to loads of Ricky Gervais podcasts)

Vadim its not a good idea to use images from Yahoo as it is really a minefield of copyright laws. Some places say there pictures are royalty free which means you have to pay a charge to have the picture with unlimited uses.. if you get what i mean.. It might be best to just use our own pics, and maybe il make up a excel form so we know who has donated which pics and when?

Graeme is right--we have to be very careful of copyright with pictures as well as news! Especially if we're going to offer this stuff as part of the main site. I'd put my vote in to use pictures members have taken, I think that would be great!

The news will be trickier unless we pay for a news feed. We'd also have to be very careful about someone providing us with news simply b/c they live in Milan or claim to have a "source" and won't actually name the source. Obviously someone who lives in Milan would be passing along news from the newspapers, TV and so on. Those claiming to have an inside source...well, that's a pain to deal with as well. It happened a number of years ago where we had a member claiming to have a source close to the team (OK, started as a gardener at Mialnello and just grew from there) but the stuff being posted was getting to the point where I forwarded it to Angelo and he was forwarding it to the proper people to check out. IF...I repeat IF we could swing somethign where the team sponsors us in some way, maybe we could actually get news items from them....

did your friend say anything about acmilan-online because all of their news is from other sources.. yeah it would be great to get news and info from them, even if its Nesta's recipe to make his tomato soup or something.. It would just look good for us

we could say rumour in Italy: but it is tricky, i have a news ticker that we can use otherselves, but at the moment i need to learn a bit more php to link the tickler to the news pages.

What i might end up doing is getting a bare site working and add more pages as we go along?

I could see doing the bare site route and adding to it--it makes sense to do that if we're going to re-do the entire main site....which is why I'm asking, and would like feedback from alot of people on, WHAT do we want to see on those main pages?

I'm not real sure why Angelo asked specifically about AC Milan-online...unless it's that heading they have about being an authentic AC Milan site. What exactly does that mean?

History = Information on history of the club, other bits and bobs, maybe drawings or something..

Gallery : this gallery is where members add there pictures, not sure how to actually create this, but there must be ways of getting round it..

Forums * link and update picture, background and colours maybe..

Multimedia : information on how to show games, where sites to see highlights are.. future possibilites of flash games and podcast...

about: well about the site... History, current owners sorta thing..



Then Help, contact, privacy, common soon and sitemap at the top.

I'm wondering if we could keep the index page pretty clean and just that--an index page? A section for links to all the other pages, obviously...and then your shameless plug to join the forums and maybe a shameless plug for contributions, and maybe a thing with next game and maybe standings? And the site map link. Correct me if I'm wrong but literally a site's homepage is just a welcome and an index of what's there? Any thoughts??

We used to have a section in the history of past Milan greats and some bios. Does anyone want to see that back?

Hmmm....wonder if Ancelotti has ever read my comments.... Who knows, I can just recall "ages" ago reading that Bierhoff loved to surf the Web, I'm sure alot of them like to. Just never know who's reading...

I strongly beleive that some people at milan follow MM religiously. These people might be hired professionals to keep up with us fans and address our concerns. They always reply back to the comments we post on this site. Especially when maldini was accused of taking Noel Gallagher's offer seriously only our forum was discussing about it and after a couple of hours acmilan.com released a statement that Maldini doesn't even know who gallagher is. The second instance I noticed was the one regarding Rino where he replied back to the comments about returning back to rangers. Even acmilan-online.com didn't start discussing about it untill Rino came out with another statement on acmilan.com that he is not going to return to rangers. Ours and acmilan-online.com are the only two dedicated forums to Milan. XT never comes up when you google 'AC Milan forums'

Besides, there is no doubt that in terms of quality of posts (most of them) and quick and realistic reactions to situations, MM has got the best members. In fact this is one of the most knowledgeable english forums I have come across. Credit goes to our admins and mods for maintaining discipline and above all keeping this site up. Keep up the goodwork gentlemen and ladies too!

Thank you, Rahul, for the kind words. I'd actually forgotten about those MM "conspiracy theories" about why certain things ended up being addressed on the official site. It is very possible that certain parties that Angelo alerted a couple years ago have kept us on a watch list of some sort. To that end, doing some serious re-designing and improving can only help us!
